I think it would be fun if, along the lines of Dracula Daily, we had Dickens December, with portions of A Christmas Carol sent out daily from Dec 1 until Christmas. It’s a wonderful book, with narration that is by turns humourous, satirical, evocative, idiosyncratic, moving, and passionate, and the joy of the full text and writing can be missed even in the best adaptations. It would be fun to have it done as a tumblr book club the way Dracula Daily was, and see everyone comment on it a little at a time.

Does anyone know if someone is already doing this? I don’t think I would have time to assemble it in the next ten days, but if it already exists I would love to participate!

So I posted about my Strixhaven characters, but I also decided (with the permission from my DM) to design some uniform flat lays. I also chose a purple, grey and ivory colour scheme to try and keep it neutral and not of any particular college.

I started with robes paired with Turkish şalvar and hakama. From there I moved onto a more suit style with some trousers, skirt and boots. Of course you need a nice jacket or blazer to go with it so I drew them up as well as a nice wool lined coat, gloves, mittens and hat.

Then I designed some cloaks with closure pins emblazoned with each of the Strixhaven College emblems.

Finally I put together two miscellany pages of the various items I thought the average Strixhaven student might have I'm their inventory like books, ink, scales, aprons, scroll holders, book bags etc.

Strixhaven Character 2/2 - Cérnú Gealaí

Even before his horns sprouted Cérnú was gazing up at the night sky. Noticing his love of the moon and stars, his parents presented him with his very own telescope.

From then on his mother, an accomplished astronomer, began teaching Cérnú the mathematical formulae to track the movements of the heavens and the skills to draw star maps with astonishing accuracy. His father taught him the epic stories of the constellations and how to draw power from them.

Cérnú and his parents were ecstatic when we received his acceptance letter to Strixhaven. And he definitely intends to prove himself there.

Cérnú is based on Cernnunos the Celtic diety of the wilds, often depicted as a satyr. His past name is Irish for "lunar" which I thought would be fitting.

Strixhaven Character 1/2 - Gwdihŵ Hiraeth

Gwdihŵ, or Gwdi (Gweh-dee) for short, is a sweet little Owlin wizard who always has his beak in a book.

When not terrorising his local librarian with book requests, he loves baking. And especially loves sharing his sweet treats with his mother and grandmother, who regale him with stories of the past.

Gwdihŵ is super excited to go to Strixhaven to learn even more history of the world, and to get his talons into their emense library.

His name is based on the Welsh for owl and a longing for one's homeland.

Got some art done of my two D&D characters.

First up is my big fluffy anthropologist Firbolg Darach who's a Circle of Spores Druid with some levels in Bard. I like to think that here he is serenading the various mushrooms surrounding him.

Next is my newest character Ruadhán Ó'Conghalaigh a Halfling bard and archeologist. I kind of drew him to be a bit cheeky and here he's trying to convince his party to go to the "totally safe abandoned temple"

Cutting it a bit close to the wire but finally got all the Christmas decorations out 🎄

The Poké-Gang were a great help!

Theodore (Bewear) and Púca (Mimikyu) helped me outside with the lights and the wreath.

Sparky (Jolteon), Waffle (Kantonian Raichu) and Flapjack (Alolan Raichu) helped put together a little Christmas scene on our side board.

And Orion (Rowlet), Gealaí (Gardevoir), and Freya (Mew) took over the tree making it pretty with ornaments and lights. They even made a little scene around the base. And of course they neatly placed the gifts underneath 🎄 🎁

Meant to post this earlier, but my art has been featured in a book!!!!!

The wonderful people at Legend's Cookbook and JobJob LLC have made another lovely cookbook based on Fire Emblem: Three Houses. And it features my Book of Kells inspired art that won their art contest!!!

The cookbook is filed with lovely recipes and art from some really talented artists.

I'm so excited for when the book it available to the public!
