do i have strong negative feelings towards celine because of the way she raised rumi and trained huntrix and messed them all up? yes. do i understand that she was probably trained the same way and is an immensely complex character? also yes.

y'all ask for complex women and then can't handle them when they come. yes, celine really messed up the girls and that's not something to just be ignored or glazed over. but understanding that there's more to her is so important.

ummm i dont know I think Protestant is what my family is? Except some extended family are baptist. The church we go to is nondenominational though.

As for the verse that says like man shall not lie with man was translated as such until 1946. The Greek word used in the version that was translated to that was arsenokoitai which literally means male bed doer, but in the context of the time referred to like men exploiting male prostitutes or (especially) young boys. So it wasn’t condemning homosexuality, it was like nonconsensual sex or sexual abuse. Then in 1946 people translating took it to mean “man shall not lie with a man as with a woman” (Leviticus 18:22) instead of the intent of man shall not lie with a boy. All of the rules listed in Leviticus were to keep the people holy and good. There were other ones such as “dont eat pork”, “dont wear clothing made of mixed fabric”, “dont go to church within 33 days of having a boy or 66 days of having a girl”, “dont pick up grapes that have fallen in your vineyard”, (supposed to be saved so the poor can eat them) “dont mistreat foreigners” and much more. As for what you said, I totally agree. I hate when Christians are like “people can’t be really good without god. You need god to love others :)” cause thats not true. Your perspective is so real and valid and I agree. I was atheist for like 3 years (when I was 10 I lost someone very close and didn’t understand) but recently thats changed. I believe in science first and foremost, and in a loving god in addition to that. I actually read a super interesting book about that recently!!

and for what you said about death, that makes sense. I don’t know for sure but I’d like to believe that heaven is real, because I might be able to see my friend again. But I can’t know for sure.

Im going to start this off by saying; i do not know for a fact if God is real or not, but I choose to believe, for no other reason than I want to.

I kind of have complicated beliefs but I’ve been raised Christian (as in even my entire extended family is Christian, grandparents, great grandparents, aunts and uncles, great aunts and uncles, cousins, second cousins, everyone. I’ve also sort of like experimented with other religions, both witchcraft and Hellenic polytheism. I believe in what science tells us is true such as evolution, the Big Bang, things like that. I love science, and learning about how the world and universe work, on scales from the smallest particles up to dark matter holding galaxies together. I also believe God is real and created our universe with the intent of humans (or similar intelligent life) existing, to get to know us. I believe that God is good and that we are loved.

As for what happens after death, I don’t think God would send people to literally burn in hell forever. I think that if in our life we like believe in Jesus and stuff then we go to heaven, and if not we get another try (kinda like reincarnation until you get to heaven) 

I don’t love organized religion i think it can cause a lot of hurt and pain, and I think religion is something deeply personal and that nobody else can tell you how to do it. 

I dont believe that being queer is a sin. I think one mistranslated verse from a chapter of a book in the Bible talking about rules (that mostly people don’t follow anymore) has caused way too much hurt and it’s not right. Being queer is a wonderful thing that gives you more empathy and understanding, and I think God would smile at us creating our own identities. They are the Creator after all, so why would we be in trouble for doing the same thing we know Them for?

I am kind of a theology nerd (as in more than the average high schooler) and would love to talk more about this if you have any specific questions i just hate typing and wanted to do a short summary 😭😭 and I really wanna hear your point of view as well :D
