thinking about jason lannister and i think he'd have hated that the person who killed him was a small-folk squire and therefor i think it's perfect. and he definitively had time to know because he died of his wounds, not immediately

what i've just realized is that in my " joanna survived au " i do think she'd have been at king's landing still by asos ... which is a problem in that she'd have been with tywin when tyrion escapes

obviously i don't include this in her survival au unplotted as it messes with canon but i do think that had joanna not died giving birth to tyrion, she'd have done something to permanently separate cersei and jaime not that long after tyrion was born. most likely sending jaime to foster and squire a few years (and when he returned, if sending cersei to court was an option, then sending her to court)

i've been reading asos so i do have joanna's thoughts for her survival verse but i do think ? she'd have agreed with tywin re tyrion marrying sansa. joanna is as a rule much nicer in how she deals with everyone which hides a lot of the extent of her potential ruthless nature but winterfell is too high of a price to let go if they have a chance to claim it. she would want it for her family and for tyrion. her thoughts on cersei remarrying are... she's not as for it as tywin is but she can see the use of it and she'd never have argued with him regarding it anywhere but in close doors, and frankly ? she could turn towards seeing the use of it pretty easily.

lips turn unto a soft smile, as she watches the little princess' eyes widen before she smiles in turn. her eyes flicker, momentarily, to queen rhaella ( queen dowager, and queen mother, now, she notes in her mind, although part of her thinks yet of her as queen before she thinks of her in any other way, no matter what had gone between them ), before she looks at the young girl once more. they are elia's eyes, she thinks with a surge of affection towards the girl, and she can see elia's factions and even her mother's, looking back at her. she is still a targaryen, however. she has not had the chance to see much of her — to see any of elia's children, but now with aerys gone... it had been long years since she had been at court and longer still since she had held the title of a lady in waiting to queen rhaella. she felt sometimes still, the old resentment towards the queen at being forced out of court due to the king's behavior, flickering in and out. years lost of seeing elia grow unto her role, of her own children seeing court and all the excitement that such place brought, years of connections gone because they had had a king who had been unable to behave properly. she had been at casterly rock, instead, and had adored the place, but the anger at being forced out for something that had not even been on her is a familiar one.

BUT AH, WITH KING AERYS THE SECOND OF HIS NAME GONE... what is left of her old feelings are easy to snuff out and focus on her contentment instead, on the warm thoughts she does still have of rhaella and her family, once that one figure was gone. her fingers twist one of the remaining flowers that she had not waved unto the crown she had set to the princess' head slightly, humming as she considers it. “ that is a lovely gesture, princess. yes, it can be done. i do not mind showing you, if you wish. i used to make these for cersei, when she was young. ” she says, smiling at her. it is truthful too. she had always quite liked the gardens at the red keep, so different to those at the rock. “ it is not much different. it needs only smaller flowers, shorter, to twist and tie with each other for the crown to fit princess daenerys. ” she says, raising one of the spare flowers that had been shorter than the rest to show her. the flowers would be smaller in turn, and she'd need more, to find flowers which were not as grown yet, but she thinks it can be done. and to make certain there is naught on them, she thinks to herself, so they'd be soft of little daenerys' skin, but she can check for that herself.
