Maddie knew Benji would be fine but she still didn’t want to leave him. The blonde found herself restless all her night, her eyes going from Benji to her book to her iPad then back to the male. She found herself dozing off when she heard her mom’s voice. Of everyone who came and exited this room, there was no one else she would have rather seen. She smiled, getting up from the chair and going out into the hall with her mother, wrapping her arms tightly around the woman, “Hi Mommy.”

Placing her arms around her daughter, Lis hugged the younger blonde back. Thankful that despite everything, even her age, that Maddie was still her baby girl. “Hi baby girl.” She replied, “I thought I’d come check on you two and see if you need anything before I head home to shower and change.”

Though she'd been up and on shift for so many hours now she had lost count, Lis wasn't quite ready to leave. Not until after she'd checked in on her daughter. Not until she checked to see that Benji was alright. No, She wasn't too keen on the idea of her daughter dating someone she was so close to. In her mind, It felt like history repeating and that didn't settle well. But she knew she couldn't run her daughters life nor did she wish to. Rounding the corner, she made it to the males room and peaked in to get Maddie's attention. "Maddie baby? Come out here a moment please."

"I just spent 52 hours, with few breaks, awake and not home. So unless you have something really important to say, I'd really like to eat my dinner and relax. More medical talk is the last thing I want right now." Lis said, sighing as she stuck her fork into her salad.
