"i do not dream of labour" is one of the worst pseudo-marxist taglines that western leftists have co-opted because when you ask them what they do dream of, they say traveling, studying, and creating art. broski, who's flying the plane to take you to prague? who's the security at the library with the texts you're studying? who are the clerks in the museum showcasing your art? like bro, you do dream of labour. you just dream of someone else doing it so you don't have to! you merely want to outsource the labour and make it invisible.
#also!#studying and creating art are both labor!#having a garden is labor!#baking is labor!#just because something is enjoyable and can be a hobby doesn't make it not labor

the doctor is like an art project that's been going for so long that there's literally everything. like an infinite canvas that people keep painting on. a sculpture that people keep adding parts to. so if you look for long enough you'll find every color and its opposite. yeah they're fundamentally kind and also a murderer and war criminal. yeah they're super social and also super antisocial. the core of their being is love. the core of their being is hatred. peel back the layer of joy and underneath that there's profound tiredness, and underneath that there's grief, and underneath that there's loneliness, and underneath that there's a long repressed urge for violence, and underneath that there's hope. oh btw the doctor has a granddaughter and also lost all their children and also has never had kids in the first place. oh btw did you know the doctor canonically hallucinates. oh btw did you know they once had a pet therapy robot. oh btw did you know they once went back in time and killed the literal concept of death. if you look for long enough there's everything. and somehow the character still works. and i love it.

Doctor Who is just an endless cycle of the Doctor being reminded that there鈥檚 whimsy in the world and they should be whimsical鈥攁nd then immediately being reminded there are also so many reasons to be a grumpy old person.

started working at a bookstore and the manager has a position that the booksellers can play whatever music they want literally no limits at all and my assumption was that this was going to mean lots of vulgar music (which it has included) but within my first three shifts it also included mario kart music and alvin and the chipmunks witch doctor
#tbh working in the bookstore is sick#I get paid to organize books which is what I like to do in my apartment for free
