I was thinking about this last night but too tired to post but here it goes: Natasha and Yelena basically have their own emotional support men, Clint and Bob respectfully. Let me further elaborate: Are they useful sometimes? Absolutely. Are they able to comfort people? Definitely. Are they well aware that their respective widow could end their life if they wanted to (even if they never will)? Absofuckinglutely. The difference between Clint and Bob is that they have slightly different dynamics—because there’s a difference between dragging around a dog (which is useful, can be used on missions, is common in the armed forces) and dragging around a wet cat. Either way, they both became friends with a Widow and ended up being pretty important in each other’s lives (Yelena and Bob especially). Now we just gotta pray the Russo brothers don’t give Yelena the same fate
