summary: little!reader is at a safe house with t141, brings their lamb stuffie but always loses it

enter lamby:

You beg Price to let you go into the toy store next to the grocery shop. It’s a funny sight for the cashier when you, accompanied by Simon and Soap, enter the store that is primarily filled with baby toys. Price and Gaz decided to go to the car, but Gaz made Soap promise to get a picture of Ghost in the store with you.

You look around for the stuffie and Simon spots them in a back corner and guides you there. You hold his hand as you look around at the most adorable plushies you’ve ever seen. You have to hold back from squealing but you squeeze Simon's hand and bounce on your feet. Johnny stands on the other side of you, helping you find the cutest one. 

“Alright dove, what’s it going to be?” Eventually you narrow it down to a blank and a blank. You make Simon hold them both so you can visualize it better. Johnny makes sure to secretly take a photo of the scene. It’s comical and adorable seeing you stare intently between the two options that look so small in Simon’s hands. 

You walk out of the store with a big smile on your face and a soft lamb in your hands. Simon grabs your hand before you can run to the car, but you try your best to speed walk there. You pile into the backseat, squished between Kyle and Simon, and then make sure that John and Kyle have felt how soft your new lamb is before you head back. During the drive, you wiggle happily with your new friend in your lap. 

lamby out of sight:

The team was staying in a safe house long enough that you could bring your lamb with you. Normally you don’t bring her on missions because you don't want to risk her getting damaged or lost. This mission is a little different, and so there was more leniency with what you could bring. 

The team quickly learns that you have a habit of leaving her around the house.

Kyle walks into the bathroom and finds your pacifier in the sink. Soap had given you a little chain with a clip that could be attached to the pacifier and then onto your shirt, so you had gotten better at not losing it. Sometimes you still forget. He rinsed the pacifier and then dried it on his (clean) shirt. As he reaches to put it on the windowsill, he finds your lamb there. He laughs and places your pacifier beside your stuffie. 

When he leaves the bathroom, he collects your comfort items and walks down the stairs. He heads to the dining room table and finds you looking over some papers. 

“Baby, your pacifier and lamb were in the bathroom.”

“Ohhhh.” You mutter to yourself. “I guess I forgot them while I was brushing my teeth.”

“I thought Johnny got you that clip for a reason.” You look up at him and shrug. 

“Yeah but I got distracted I guess, I noticed the window wasn’t closing properly so I tried to fix it, and then I remember I had to look at this stuff,” You gesture to the scattered papers in front of you. "So now I have to be big and do this.”

You tried to be helpful this morning, even though you feel smaller. John watches from the living room as you walk into the kitchen, set down your lamb and put away clean dishes and make Simon tea. You go to the stairs, planning to head to Simon’s bed so you can cuddle with him. 

“Love,” John stops you. You perk up and look in the direction of his voice. 

“Hm?”

“Your lamb.” He points to where it is on the counter and you turn your head to follow gaze.

“Oops, sorry lamby! Thanks Da.” You walk over to her and tuck her into your arms, careful to keep the mug steady and head back to the stairs. John hears the stairs creak under your steps, and smiles to himself.

You have once again forgotten your lamb somewhere, and you need her to watch your cartoons with Johnny. You’re all wrapped up in a blanket so you ask him to find her for you. He checks the main floor before going upstairs and looking in the bedrooms. He avoids Simon’s until he doesn't find your plush anywhere else. Simon’s room is right beside yours, but his door is closed so Johnny knocks on it. “Simon?” He waits for a response but doesn’t get one. He says a quick prayer before turning the door knob slowly and pushing the door open silently. On the bed, Johnny can see your plush on Simon’s pillow. Opening Simon’s closed door was one thing, but going into his room is another. 

He slowly steps one foot into the room and the floorboards creak, making him jump. He turners around to make sure no one is around and finds Simon watching him from the hallway. He has his mask on, presumably coming from an errand run, and his arms are crossed. 

“I- uh” Johnny stammers. He looks between Simon and the stuffie. He hears your footsteps as you skip up the stairs. 

“Johnnyyyyy,” You whine. “What’s taking so long? Oh hey Papa.” You see both of them at the entrance of Simon’s room. 

“Is she in there?” You walk past Simon and peer into the room, spotting her on his pillow. You push past Johnny and flop onto Simon’s bed. You giggle when you bounce and then crawl to retrieve your lost lamb. You hop off the bed and go back downstairs, not noticing Soap’s stunned expression or the crinkles around Simon’s eyes (he’s definitely smirking under his mask). 

“Johnny come on! You couldn’t find my lamb and now you’re going to miss cartoons! I thought you're supposed to be smart!” 

4.

You and Simon had to leave early in the morning to collect some information, so you couldn’t say goodbye to John or the others. When John opens his door to go on his morning run, he's met with his favourite hat on the ground with your lamb sitting in it. There’s a folded note tucked in the hat.

The sight gets a smile out of him and he reaches to grab the small piece of paper.

The note stays on the fridge until the team ends their time at the safe house, with a bunny magnet that you also made. John reads it everyday when he’s in the kitchen, and the others tease him whenever they catch his eyes in that direction. (Soap’s just jealous he doesn’t have a note of his own)

Simon's on high alert when he hears shuffling coming from inside his room, behind his closed door. He starts walking faster, furious at the idea of someone intruding into his space. He pauses his movement when he hears quiet giggles, your giggles. He walks up to the door, and tries to understand what you could be laughing about in his room.

You're a troublemaker when you're little. Getting into things that don't belong in your little hands, messing with things just for fun. You're definitely encouraged by Johnny and Kyle, who love to help you with pranks and mischievous adventures.

Unfortunately, you're not all that sneaky when you're little. All the agility and swiftness that they can depend on during missions is nowhere to be seen. The team always keeps an eye on you. Whether you're tripping over your own feet, knocking into tables, corners or doors, or spilling stuff on yourself, they've got their hands full. He's always surprised by the stupid stuff you do. 

Simon hears through the door when you imitate his accent and deep voice. “I only like tea and I can take you and your mom down!” 

He’s glad Kyle and Johnny aren’t hearing this because they would never shut up about it. He finally gives into curiosity. He opens his door, and sees you in front of the small mirror hung on his wall. You've got one of his ghost masks on, and black eye paint smudged around one of your eyes. You've got his paint stick in your hand, held up to your other eye. The mask is too big so the fabric is loose over your head, and creates an adorable sight. 

You see Simon come through the door in the reflection of the mirror and lower your hand. You spin around to face him, with a guilty smile on your face.

"Hey Papa! Look, I'm just like you!" You growl and make your hands into claws towards him.

"Hi love." His voice is gruff but you can recognize amusement in his tone. When Simon went to his office this morning to work on paperwork, he had given you to Price so that you could be in the gym as they trained. So he’s surprised that you’re not with them. "Why aren't you with Dada, I thought you were helping him."

"I was, but then they all went to shower and it was gonna be boring to wait for them so then I came here!" You excitedly explain.

Simon sighs and drags his hand down his face. He knows Price is likely looking for you everywhere. He crouches down in front of you and takes the paint out of your hands.

"I understand that it would be boring, but you can't just leave without telling anyone." He tells you gently, but you still pout.

"But Papaaaa.” You stomp your foot and cross your arms. Simon has to stop himself from laughing, which would make you more grumpy. 

"Here's what we're going to do, I still have some things to finish up, so I'll take you back to Dada and then we can do something together in 20 minutes." You think about it, but you don't have a choice in the matter so you just nod and reach your hands out to him.

"Up?" He lifts you up and stands, putting the paint on a high surface, and then leaves his room in search of John. When he reaches the gym, the guys are looking around for you, behind equipment, in rolled up mats and in storage closets.

"I've got 'em." Simon announces, and the men all turn to the two of you, where they’re met with quite a sight.

When John walks over, he doesn't look the happiest. Simon holds you out to John, dangling you from your armpits like you're a stray kitten. 

"You found a racoon going through the trash?" Soap jokes.

"Hey!" You protest, and since you’re still hanging you just weakly kick your legs in his direction. He laughs and reaches out to adjust the mask that had fallen over your eyes.

Price takes you into his arms and looks at you. "Getting into Papa's things hm?"

You leave the gym with John, who takes you to his bathroom. He sits you on the counter, and uses a cloth with warm water to wipe off the paint. 

When Simon finishes his work, he walks to the living room and sees you, still with his mask on but with a clean face, playing a card game on the floor with Kyle while Price makes you lunch. 

You look up from your hand of cards when he comes up behind you. “Hi!”

“You get into any more trouble?” He asks you and gently puts a hand on your head. 

“No of course not!” He rolls his eyes and doesn’t believe you at all. He sits down beside you and then lifts you into his lap. 

“Alright baby, what do we gotta do to crush Kyle?”

“I’ve got it Papa, don’t worry.”

CG!Elliott Headcanons

Elliott is a very sweet cg. He can be a little bumbling at times since he's a tad awkward, especially when he first steps up as your cg. He is unsure of what he should or shouldn't do, or what you might need, but he knows he wants everything to be absolutely perfect. Naturally he finds himself doing a lot of reading, specifically things like parenting books since that's the closest thing the library has to what he needs.

Over the course of time however, he finds himself picking out several books from the children's section along with his own. He knows stories, it's his whole thing. So of course he wants to share that with you. He picks up a couple of classics that he remembers liking, along with a few newer titles that he may or may not have overheard Penny reading to Jas and Vincent.

This isn't necessarily right though. He reads lots of books to you over the course of being your cg, but none of them really fit he thinks. There's no clear favorite, and that simply won't do. Naturally, Elliott writes one for his little guy in secret (even going so far as getting Leah to help with illustrations for it).

It isn't until a particularly rough night that he decides to give you the book. It's been awhile since you've struggled this much, and it absolutely breaks his heart. He had intended the book to be a surprise for the Feast of the Winter Star, but he thinks giving it to you a few weeks early won't hurt. Elliott quietly wipes away your tears and tells you he'll be right back. He's gone no longer than five minutes and brings back the wrapped gift from where he had it stashed away, along with a bottle of warm milk. It might not have started out as a small night, but he can tell that he's got a little boy on his hands.

Elliott waits patiently as you open it, eyes scanning your face as you peer down at the cover. He gently shushes you and takes the book from you and begins reading, starting with the dedication page. Even if it wasn't obvious from the dedication that it was for you, the whole thing was clearly created with you in mind. The cover featured your favorite colors, your favorite animal was the center of the story and representing a character clearly based on you.

He reads it as he would any other story, but his voice gives away his nervousness. It isn't exactly an easy thing to do, reading the book he wrote for you; it is one thing to write your feelings to someone, but another thing entirely to speak them and he's worried he didn't get it right. It's clear that a lot of love and care went into it though. The hand that cards through your hair grounds him just as much as it is meant to ground and calm you.

But the gentle action and his reassuring presence don't compare to the comfort that the story brings. It's the story that finally eases you and soothes the ache in your chest. That has your spiraling thoughts slowing down. And by the end of it, you're reminded how loved you are and how Elliot will always be there for you even if you have bad days where you don't feel right or good about yourself. He takes the now-empty bottle and replaces it with a paci, and pets your hair until you are able to finally fall asleep, softly promising that the two of you can talk about things come morning.
