Baler
All I want is to travel the Philippines. It started last year and I wanted more. Since Siquijor was cancelled due to Basyang, I needed to have a back-up trip. Diversion!
Baler, Aurora.

Travel time: 7 hours with stop over for bathroom breaks.
We left Manila midnight and arrived in Baler 7am. We had our breakfast at the Rolling Stores which serves "masasarap at murang pagkain". Try their nilagang baka and of course, the "silog".
9am: We were on the road again for our next destination.
Dinutabo Falls.
But before you could see this amazing falls, you have to trek for at least 45 minutes. Papunta pa lang yan. You may ride a tricycle for 50/pax but the group decided to trek all the way to the falls.
What to do with that time on your trek to the falls? Picture-picture.
Akala ko ito na, hindi pa pala. :D
I envy that lens. 24mm-70mm, ideal for wedding photography. Kung gaano siya kabigat ganun din siya kamahal. Buti nalang naging magkaibigan kami nito. I can use and explore the lens free.

Tanggal lahat ng sakit at pagod sa pag-trek. Reminder: sobrang lamig lang ng falls. Chest level lang naman ang tubig.

After a couple of minutes in Dinutabo falls, we decided to trek back again. But not the whole 45 minutes. Nag-tricycle na kami pababa to our bus, di na talaga kaya. And the fact na basa pa kami. :D
Nag-Balete tree pa kami after Dinutabo falls. Walang picture kasi gutom at pagod na. :D
End of day one in Baler.
So far, maganda naman ang unang araw namin. I'll blog next time our second day which includes the boodle fight, yoga session and my first surf experience.

Basyang's Fault
First trip for the year 2014: SIQUIJOR. Date: January 31-February 2.
All things were ready. DIY itinerary, backpack with my essentials for the whole duration of the trip, book, camera and friends. Ang kailangan lang namin gawin - ang makatawid from Bato to Dumaguete to Siquijor through a "lantsa" (small boat).
But then "Basyang" came. *ugh! seriously.* Ayoko pa maniwala habang nasa biyahe kami na suspended lahat ng biyahe patawid. But when we reached Bato, doon na. *face palm.
4 1/2 hours travel from Cebu to Bato, gone to waste. What to do? I have no clue on what to do next. Wala akong plan B and never ako nagkaroon ng plan B. :(
So I called my friends and then they said, rather than returned to the city and sit again for another 4 1/2 hours, push parin ang plan in a different location.
Napadpad kami sa Dalaguete. Travel time: 1 1/2 hours from Bato.
DAKONG BATO RESORT
The place is HEAVEN. *pero gusto ko parin ang Siquijor.
Beach and a pool. 2,800 AC room with private T&B good for 4 persons with free breakfast and use of WIFI, not bad.

Kiss Goodbye to Breast Cancer
I have participated in the event created by Avon Philippines in campaigning awareness and prevention to the most painful disease that affects women, the breast cancer.
I CARE for those family whose mom, sisters, siblings who tries to fight against this disease. And I know it is not that easy. So, in return of showing that I care and think about them, I run 10K for the very first time. I want my first to be a memorable one and I know I have done something beautiful.
Jumping from 5K to 10K requires a lot. Been running 5k for like 3x. From 43 minutes down to 36 minutes. I think its time to upgrade and challenge myself for a longer run. Goal: 1 hour and 30 minutes. Luckily, I got 1 hour and 14 minutes. Yay! Achievement indeed. It is just sad running alone. Would you accompany me next time? :)
Thank you for all the photographers who were there. May remembrance ako for my first 10K. <3

Candy Rush 2013
My THIRD 5k run and SECOND medal for grab. A big thanks to my dear Boss for always saving me a spot. That is his kids btw on the right wearing purple singlet. :D
I don't know if I beat my other 5k record last time. It just the distance is not exactly a 5KM or my Ipod is just broken. I have run the 2.40 miles in 40 minutes with a kid (the little one on the left) on my side.
Keep in mind because I have suffered as well that prior to this kind of event, you should have at least condition your legs. Practice running and prepare them. I've been indoors for 2 weeks due to bad weather and haven't done any runs before this one. My knees went hell up to now. Can't blame.
Next run will be this coming October 13, 2013 at Mall of Asia Grounds. Rexona Run organized by Runrio. 10K baby. 10K. My first 10K. Scary and I hope I'll do well.

Haven
El Nido, Puerto Princesa. Dream place ever, second to Pagudpod, Ilocos Norte. I love that place to death and I don't care if I have to travel 6 hours with my head turns 180 degrees and upset stomach. It is just remarkable and I am planning to go back next year with friends and family. Just like Boracay which I've set my foot there 3x this year.
Target dates: April 2014 with co-workers, July 2014 with family. I should start running now to lose some pounds. :)
It would take me forever if I would list all the reasons why I called El Nido a haven. Pictures taken by me will do the explanation and I know it will justify my 'exaggeration'.
Our neighbor, Helicopter Island. Sad because it wasn't included in our itinerary. Abot kamay na nga lang.
Entalula Island. One of the best beaches in El Nido.
Snake Island (sand bar). You can only take this shot if you will go to the view deck. A 5 minute walk from the shore line.
Another batch of tourist.
Beach of Codugnon Cave.
Pinagbuyutan Island. Be careful when you step into this island. Palalim ang drama which I find it scary. Blue kung blue ang tubig.
The most loved among them all, Papaya Island and the sand. Mas pa siya sa Boracay. (sorry muy but admit it)
Just see and believe.
Seven Commando Island. And there's a bar in this island.

One of the Seven Wonders of the World
UNDERGROUND RIVER in Sabang, Puerto Princesa.
A dream goes to life and I am proud that I have given a chance to see a part of everything that He created.
*napuntahan ko na ang isa sa mga seven wonders of the world. :D
From El Nido, it would take about 5 hours travel to reach Sabang. Okay naman sana ang kalsada, concrete yet the bad part: its curve, up and down roads which makes me dizzy. We all are.
Sabang, Puerto Princesa
Good thing when we reached Sabang, lunch buffet is ready. But how can you eat like a giant if your stomach is upset from the travel. Sayang ang buffet.
You have to ride a bangka (20 minutes) to be able to reach Underground River. According to our guide, Underground River can only accommodate 900 people per day. They have restricted the numbers of tourist for security purposes.
They used solar panels for their street lights. Amazing huh!
(behold the beauty of our own nature)
A typical bangka good for 8 pax ONLY. (strict sila when it comes to safety and life vest is mandatory to wear all the time)

Boat ride to Underground River
Here it is: UNDERGROUND RIVER
BEWARE of snatchers around the entrance. Not the typical gusgusin, nakakatakot look from humans, its the monkeys.
Chris, our guide is way too hilarious in the orientation. He do a lot of talking, jokes out of nowhere thus making our 45 minutes to 1 hour paddle boat ride inside Underground River a memorable one.
Tour guides knows everything inside the Underground. And they will teach you how to appreciate what is ours. Love thy own.
Open your mind when your inside the cave. It is all about imagination and creativity. Forms made by stalagmites and stalactites and I will show you some of them.
(be sure to bring flashlight and pop those flash. close your mouth when looking up, water may drop from the ceiling or worst, poop from bats.)
BATS ARE EVERYWHERE and so as their smell.
Now let's do the 'imagination thing' and hope you can see the whole picture.
