If this kid hadn't dragged her so gracelessly, she could've gotten them to safety herself, but with the way they flailed around she just stayed limp until they were on the shore, not willing to endanger herself any further.
Uncomfortably, she shuffled a bit, looking out at the water which she instantly missed, though the tip of her tail was still there. How do the legged folk live like this? All drying off, with the sand sticking to them. Frowning, she turns to her saviour.
"It's you, then?" She asks sharply, tilting her head. "I've seen you before."
"So why did you have to drag me out of the water, hm?"
Neverland was a beautiful place, that was something Sawyer could not deny. A land untouched by human evolution and the birthplace of magic described in fairytales. One could be content wasting their day away watching the life bloom around them and Sawyer took much pleasure in doing so. Though, there was nothing more enchanting than the mermaids. They flew through the water into the ocean’s embrace, her children blessed with the freedom to disappear deep beneath the waves. They were beautiful, and Sawyer seldom thought so highly of something that could kill them.
Nestled comfortably within a bush they watched Nin with an innocent fascination, eyes wide and mouth agape. Recently they began to seek out this mermaid, preferring her jumps and dives over the others- or perhaps because she was the only one yet to spot him. When she crashed into the water with an unmatched nimbleness but did not surface to do so again an itch in the back of Sawyer’s brain caught their attention. The longer Nin stayed under water the more incessant the itch became until it was an all consuming rash of anxiety.
They were quick to their feet, shedding leaves all around them as they dashed to the water. There was no hesitation as they dove down and squinted against the burn ungracefully making their way to one of the rocks. Though, Sawyer had never been known to be a good swimmer and he’d venture to say he didn’t know how to swim at all, so after he donkey kicked the rock a sudden panic set in. He clawed desperately at the water, unable to move fast enough to quell the fear. As they pulled themselves onto the bank they gasped for air as their body trembled against the earth. Barely, they managed a “Are you okay?”

Alana releases an exasperated sigh, "You just need to have a little more 𝒻𝒶𝒾𝓉𝒽 in people," she insists.
"People?" Nin tilts her head, eyeing Alana's pretty little face curiously. "What people? The merfolk who'd eat me alive if I let them?" She raises an eyebrow.
"Ohh, or do you mean the legged folk," she rolls her eyes. "The ones who are our natural-born prey?"
"I don't understand you, Alana. You're so beautiful, do you know how well you could eat? If you just... tried?" She frowns. "They'd fall at your feet, and you'd never go hungry again."

Perhaps it's the greatest compliment for the legged-folk that for a moment, Nin thought she was hearing another merfolk - and not a mermaid, this time. How odd, she'd thought, drawing closer to the source - surely not Marlowe, but were there any others?
She wondered until she realised that it came from... above. She's never been here before, this small alcove past a tunnel, with a small patch of surface water over her. It seemed to be glowing, like it was daylight up there, but it wasn't.
Was she feeling bold? Who was it? One of those pirates, or perhaps a lost boy? What should she do?
She looks over her shoulder, and then wiggles up a bit, poking just the top of her head out from the water. What manner of beast might she find? Honestly, it's a bit hard to see at first, but the figure becomes clear in her view shortly. She watches them, wondering if they're likely to see her.
She opens her mouth to speak, but the fear gets the better of her. She shifts a bit closer, resting a dainty hand on the harsh stone beside her.
"What song is that?" The words escape her lips before she realises she's made a decision. Her eyes widen - she looks just as surprised as they probably will when they see her.
💀 ⟦ STARTER ⟧ 💀
Open to: Anyone! Time: Night Location: Small cave on the side of some hill... Yeah
⊹˚₊‧───────────────‧₊˚⊹
As nightfall sweeps a blanket of stars over Neverland, most of the boys bundle up in their respective places in the tree. However, very rarely does Bones go to sleep with the others. Some of the boys joke about how Bones seems nocturnal, others must wonder if they sleep at all with how they seem absent at night and busy during the day. It's of no mind to them, though. If anything, they follow along with it all if it means getting a giggle out of someone.
A thin blanket made of patches of animal furs crudely stitched together drapes their shoulders as they walk in the soft breeze, silhouette barely lit the small torch they carry. The gentle sounds of the night soothe them - crickets chirping, lightly rustling leaves, the distant sound of waves crashing against the shoreline, and the dirt crunching beneath their feet.
They had followed this same path for quite a few nights now, it was becoming one of their favourite spots, though that title would always belong to the graveyard. Twin trees tilting right, a stack of rocks with one fallen to the north... All sorts of little things they remembered that lead to here, a small opening on the side of a hill. Pushing aside some vine, they crawl through a tight passage. It gradually opens up to reveal a small water hole. At night, the bioluminescent fauna light up the water, casting the patterns of the swaying water onto the rocky surroundings.
Bones lets out a long sigh as they seat themselves on the edge between stone and water, sliding off their boots to cast their toes into the water. It's cold, bites at their toes, but it makes them feel alive. As their movement creates ripples, the reflections become a show of mystical waves, almost hypnotic.
Wrapping the blanket around themselves a little tighter, Bones watches the stone ceiling, a light musical hum rising out of them. They're not sure where this melody came from... Leading them to believe it must be from their time in the other place. What does it mean that it has stuck with them? They don't remember any lyrics, just the tune. Their soft voice echoes through the cave, into the stone itself, reciting it back to them almost in a harmony. Their brows crease as their voice picks up a little, driven by emotion - forlorn, yearning.
The song always ends the same. It fades out, unfinished. They've never been able to remember how it ends, and they're quite sure they never will.
In their crooning, they failed to detect their audience...

“If you want to kill the world, well, then start with me.” (They’re just being a melodramatic brat)
"Kill the world?"
She looks at this odd person. Another Lost Boy. "Do you want me to kill you, Lost Boy?" She tilts her head to the side, watching them with utter confusion. "I could do that if you want..."
Smiling brightly, she shifts a bit closer to him, bringing herself further out of the water. "Just come a little closer, friend."

"You don't have to be so scared, you know. You're prob'ly stronger than you think. Me? I laugh in the face of danger. HA HA HA! ("And .....hide until it goes away.")
Just poking her eyes over the water, she watches Bandit curiously. The Lost Boys are so used to spending time with the merfolk...
This one is rowdy, vibrant, and completely unafraid of her. So it seems. They've chatted once before... he seems to want to put her at ease, but why? What's he going to do? After a moment, she swims just a little bit closer, poking more of her face out from under the water.
"I do a lot of hiding too," she says, smiling gently. "But not much laughing. Maybe I should. Ha ha ha!"

That shut her right up. She's never going to step on Ianthe's toes (so to speak); if she's learned anything so far, it's not to do that. She retreats a little, watching him float away.
Marlowe is just rude. She doesn't know what his problem is, but she's not going to let it be her problem too. Why does he need to be like this? He has no excuse.
"Watch yourself. I'm not so easy to mess with," her works are meek and quiet. Even she doesn't believe herself. If she's lucky, he was already too far away to even hear.
@littlenin :: continued from HERE.
a scowl was tossed back at the young mermaid, her words holding more truth than he refused to accept. even a nymph as fresh and new as herself could easily pose a threat to marlowe, who battled each day to maintain even the smallest fragment of power that was wielded so naturally by the rest of his kind.
marlowe skulked back, flicking his tail in annoyance. nin, in spite of her relatively short time in neverland, was still considered an outsider in his mind—a foreign friend who’d ventured there by some miracle ( or mistake ). he forced his grimace upwards into a mock grin, slithering closer. “ now, now ! watch what you say. it’s far easier to make enemies than it is friends. “ his fingers lightly tugged at her ebony tresses, swimming circles around her like a snake coiling its prey. but only for a moment. just as quickly, he sidled away into the shadows once more. “ and i have the greatest friend of all. how unimpressed ianthe would be by a bitter-mouthed, bickering child like yourself. “

❛ What’s the matter? You don’t think you deserve to be saved? ❜
It's a legged man!
"Oh!".
Quickly, Nin disappears under water, slight bubbles appearing on the surface revealing that she's still there, just hovering below the surface, letting out the air she'd breathed while above. Her eyes are shut tight as she processes...
Then she floats back up. She can be bold. She can be strong. She stares at Bandit like he's an alien, because to her, he is. This is what so many mermaids ruined themselves over? The mother of all of them, Suvannamaccha, lost it all for one of these?
"Of course I deserve to be saved," she says. "Someone as pretty as me shouldn't die anytime soon, right? You'd save me?"

❛ The only reason you’re still alive is because you’ve been useful. But the moment that ceases to be true, the second you become more trouble than you’re worth, one word, one, and I will turn you to dust. ❜ ( marlowe )
— @lowetyde
"Is that right, Mr Marlowe?" Nin frowns, looking at him with half a scowl and half a pout. "I could say the same to you, you know. You're on much thinner ice than I am."
The young mermaid folded her arms, upset, both because of his words and because of how they got to her. "Maybe you should spend more time looking out for yourself, hm?"

starter; open
Nin still isn't used to this new land, and that's her excuse. Crags were fairly common in her home, but they were different, all constructed differently and made of different types of stone.
A simple leap through the air; Nin was feeling good, she's starting to settle in and it's exciting! But diving over crags may not be a good idea. Especially when she had her trajectory all wrong.
Now here she is, trapped with her tail stuck between two rocks. She's torn between crying out for help and just quietly fixing herself up. How embarrassing, to have one of the mermaids she just barely met come and save her from this! They'll think she's just... clumsy!
But she doesn't want to tug too much; she's seen Nerissa, and the way they treat her. A few mermaids from her home were like that, but they protected one another there. It wasn't like that here. Nerissa and Marlowe -- they were afforded no special treatment. No good special treatment, at least. Nin wouldn't end up like that.
So, she supposes... it's time to just... gently wiggle her way free. It might take some time. She rapidly looks up and around — there's no one here to see her like this, right? Right?

SUPERNATURAL SENTENCE STARTERS / SEASONS 4 - 5
❛ What’s the matter? You don’t think you deserve to be saved? ❜
❛ You should show me some respect. I dragged you out of hell. I can throw you back in. ❜
❛ Destiny can’t be changed. All roads lead to the same destination. ❜
❛ I have questions. I have doubts. I don’t know what is right and what is wrong anymore. ❜
❛ The only reason you’re still alive is because you’ve been useful. But the moment that ceases to be true, the second you become more trouble than you’re worth, one word, one, and I will turn you to dust. ❜
❛ Who do I have to kill to get some French fries around here? ❜
❛ How I feel, this… inside me, I wish I couldn’t feel anything. I wish I couldn’t feel a damn thing. ❜
❛ We’re all scared. That’s the big secret… We’re all scared. ❜
❛ If you think you have good intentions, think again. ❜
❛ It’s not blame that falls on you. It’s fate. ❜
❛ I’m tired of burying friends. ❜
❛ You ask me to open that door and walk through it…? You will not like what walks back out. ❜
❛ I’m sorry. This is a very serious, very emotional situation for you. I shouldn’t laugh. It’s just that, I mean, are they serious? They sent you to torture me? ❜
❛ Oh, you’ll spill your guts, one way or the other. I just didn’t want to ruin my shoes. ❜
❛ Most folks live and die without moving anything more than the dirt it takes to bury them. You get to change things. Save people. ❜
❛ I can’t see your face, but those are definitely your brooding and pensive shoulders. ❜
❛ You promised me my family would be okay! You promised you were gonna take care of them! ❜
❛ I gave you everything you asked me to give. I gave you more. This is the thanks I get? This is what you do? ❜
❛ Now for the punch line. Everybody dies. ❜
❛ Now I’m asking you, for once, trust me. ❜
❛ Maybe you’re right. Maybe there’s, no escape. After all, how can you run from what’s inside you? ❜
❛ You don’t know me. You never did. And you never will. ❜
❛ Well, boo hoo! I am so sorry your feelings are hurt, princess! ❜
❛ Are you under the impression that family’s supposed to make you feel good, make you an apple pie, maybe? They’re supposed to make you miserable! That’s why they’re family! ❜
❛ We’ve been through much together, you and I. And I just wanted… to say, I’m sorry it ended like this. ❜
❛ What is so worth saving? I see nothing but pain here! ❜
❛ No more crap about being a good soldier, there is a right and there is a wrong here, and you know it! ❜
❛ If there is anything worth dying for, this is it. ❜
❛ Well, can’t make an omelet without cracking a few eggs. In this case, truckloads of eggs, but you get the picture. ❜
❛ Oh God. Is that a molar? I have a molar in my hair? This has been a really stressful day. ❜
❛ I’ve got no idea, but what I do have is a GED and a give-em hell attitude, and I’ll figure it out. ❜
❛ I’m hunted, I rebelled, and I did it, all of it, for you, and you failed. ❜
❛ I lost everything… for nothing. ❜
❛ You feel bad now? Wait ‘till you’re thigh-deep in warm corpses. ‘Cause my friend, I’m just getting started. ❜
❛ We’ve talked about this. Personal space? ❜
❛ I was dead from the moment we said hello. ❜
❛ Don’t you get it? You can’t run from yourself. ❜
❛ Same song, different verse. Things are never gonna change with you. Ever. ❜
❛ My heart breaks for you. The weight on your shoulders, what you’ve done, what you still have to do. It is more than anyone could bear. ❜
❛ You’re not fooling me, you know that? With this sympathy for the Devil crap? I know what you are. ❜
❛ Whatever you do, you will always end up here. No matter what choices you make, whatever details you alter, we will always end up…here. ❜
❛ Maybe we are each other’s Achilles’ Heel. Maybe they’ll find a way to use us against each other, I don’t know. I just know we’re all we’ve got. ❜
❛ You can do the right thing. You’ve got choices. But if you make the wrong ones, it’ll haunt you for the rest of your life. ❜
❛ I have to believe someone can make the right choice, even if I couldn’t. ❜
❛ You know, I’m starting to get why parents lie to their kids. You want them to believe that the worst thing out there is mixing Pop Rocks and Coke - protect them from the real evil. You want them going to bed feeling safe. If that means lying to them, so be it. ❜
❛ I wish this were a TV show. Easy answers, endings wrapped up in a bow. But this is real. And it’s gonna end bloody for all of us. That’s just how it’s gotta be. ❜
❛ Now listen very closely. Here’s what’s gonna happen. You’re gonna suck it up, accept your responsibilities, and play the roles that destiny has chosen for you! ❜
❛ Are you giving me the ‘Last Night on Earth’ speech? ❜
❛ What a peculiar thing you are. ❜
❛ I still love him. But I am going to kill him because it is right and I have to. ❜
❛ Think of the million random choices that you make, and yet how each and every one of them brings you closer to your destiny. Do you know why that is? Because it’s not random. It’s not chance. It’s a plan that is playing itself out perfectly. Free will’s an illusion. ❜
❛ I can see how broken you are, how defeated; you can’t win and you know it, but you just keep fighting, just keep going through the motions. You’re not hungry, because inside, you’re already dead. ❜
❛ We’re supposed to be a team, it’s supposed to be you and me against the world, right? ❜
❛ Not for nothing, but the last person who looked at me like that… I got laid. ❜
❛ Well, we’re working on the power of love. ❜
❛ I love you, but you are a great big bag of dicks. ❜
❛ No one gives us the right. We take it. ❜
❛ If anyone gets to end this world, it’s me. ❜
❛ Before we get down to brass tacks, some ground rules: No slaughtering each other, curb your wrath. Oh, and keep your hands off the local virgins. We’re trying to keep a low profile here. ❜
❛ Get the hell off my property before I blast you so full of rock salt, you crap margaritas. ❜
❛ I don’t understand your definition of good news. ❜
❛ You are not the burnt and broken shell of a man that I believed you to be. ❜
❛ You have an inflated sense of your importance. ❜
❛ To a thing like me, a thing like you, well… Think how you’d feel if a bacterium sat at your table and started to get snarky. ❜
❛ I’m old. Very old. So, I invite you to contemplate how insignificant I find you. ❜
❛ However you feel now, it’s only gonna get so very, very much worse… questions? ❜
❛ I suggest we imbibe copious quantities of alcohol. ❜
❛ You’re not a kid anymore, and I can’t keep treating you like one. Maybe I gotta grow up a little, too. ❜
❛ Come on, I’ve never lied to you, you could at least pay me the same respect. ❜
❛ We’re going to kill each other. And for what? We don’t even know the answer. Let’s just walk off the chessboard. ❜
❛ What would you rather have: peace or freedom? ❜

For one week, beginning the day you reblog this post to your character’s blog, any anonymous questions you receive that are directed at your muse must be answered honestly. There is no time limit to when these asks must be answered, but if they were received within the one week window, then they must be honestly answered. You can do this in-character or out-of-character as long as the answer is truthful. This is an exciting way for the rest of the group to peer inside the mind of your muse and it makes for some great reflection and character development for you!
Participation in these tasks are by no means required. They’re fun things meant to enrich your rp experience here at NEVER RPG, not stress you out. This isn’t homework. You won’t be graded. There’s no test, I swear! To participate, simply reblog this post and take not of when your week will be up!
