Ironically, it was all the way around.

You see, the movie was a French-Canadian project by Gaulmont Company and L'atelier Animation Studio, and was released by the end of 2016 around the world with the name of "Ballerina." But things in the US were different.

The now non existent Weinstein Company (it had a huge scandal going on related to their founders and had to be closed a few years later) bought the rights of the movie and renamed it "Leap!" It also postponed the release in the US to the Summer of 2017, so they would have time to make a few changes on the voice cast and add some lines to the dialogues to differenciate one version of the movie with another, as it seemed to be a tradition of the company with previous ones.

I don't know why the movie is starting to be called with its original name, maybe it's because companies are, indeed, trying to unrelate it with the Weinstein Company the best they can. Even so, after all the scandal, the rights of the movie were passed to Lionsgate.

In other news, I'm finally taking therapy, and I have taken two sessions already. It's been hard though, talking about my traumas has been really difficult and emotionally draining for me, but I'm aware healing takes a little of hurt, like when pouring cold water on a burnt area, or oxygenated water on a paper cut.

I know I'm on my way of healing, and I'm not alone in this path.

"Do you love me?" "Lord, you know everything; you know I love you." John 21: 17

This verse is from yesterday's Third Easter Sunday's Gospel, where Jesus appears to His disciples for the third time, and when He asks Peter three times if he loves Him, as a repair for the three times Peter denied Him.

I haven't gotten enough motivation to draw my own projects because I'm two months away from the end of the scholar year's exposition, and I'm too afraid of getting dragged by them when I should be having all my dedication and attention on my school projects, which, are A LOT. But, I've been having an experience lately in my life that made me feel the urge to draw something to talk about it.

Even if I'm a little better than a few months back, I'm still going through a path of healing that still hurts and opens old scars. I highly demand myself to treat fair others, than sometimes I feel offended if others don't make the same sacrifices or actions than me, or if I'm not treated as I treat them. That's why, sometimes, I demand myself even harder, and I end up in a cycle of despair when I can't reach the level of moral perfection I aspire to have. My fear of hurting the Lord as I've done before is huge, and it's hard to accept mercy from Him when I don't provide mercy to people myself.

But, I recently learned to stop panicking and trying to control everything, as I don't have that power, and I learned to trust in God, Who's in total control. When anxiety strikes again, making me worry about my future and all my problems, something that has worked for me is to tell myself, "He's in control, He can handle this for me." it's not that I don't take action and I stay passive, expecting for everything to be solved by itself, but I realized that worrying doesn't solve anything either. I just need an extra Hand, with capital H. And lately, I made up a little prayer, that helps me to have peace when I worry that all what I do isn't enough: "I offer You my five loafs and two fishes, even if they're few, for You to make a huge feast that feeds all those who are in need of them."

My path to redemption is long and painful, but I have to let myself heal and let Him act in my life.

This Gospel is read on today's Sunday, eight days after Easter Sunday. It's also the Sunday dedicated to the Attribute of Jesus' Divine Mercy, that was spread from His heart as blood and water when it was trespassed by the spear. The wound that He kept even after the Resurrection, was offered as a proof to Thomas.

i love the juxtaposition between the way the Ten Commandments and the Prince of Egypt portray God. the Ten Commandments use reds and warm colors, and His theme is powerful with deep horns and trumpets. it’s strong and bold and invokes awe and authority, like His majesty is on display. this is an intimidating but loving God. (0:38)

the Prince of Egypt uses blues and cool tones, and His theme is quiet echoing choral notes. it gives a more personal mysterious feeling to Him. but when it builds in strength it feels overwhelming, like unimaginable wonders. (1:15)

they both highlight particular attributes of God, and yet neither of them are incorrect. God is fierce and loving, kind and merciful, holy and powerful, and all of these things and more. combining these two portrayals is only the beginning of forming an idea of the complexity of Yahweh. 

“ ‘I am the Alpha and the Omega- the beginning and the end,’ says the Lord God. ‘I am the One who is, who always was, and who is still to come- the Almighty One.’ “ ~Revelation 1:8
