I wanted to practice some face shape stuff with the tea-m. Mostly to figure out how I want to draw them in the future.

blender is a time sink treat for me. if im not using it to rotate through my references i will happily get trapped in there tinkering for long stretches of time lmao

YIPEEEE the decals have been (somewhat) figured out!

they're basically the scuffs and scratches on top of the bg that gives it a little more texture/personality.

subtle, but effective.

I have a 2 part script that goes along with the map importer--pain in ass but much less so than setting it up individually. There are like-- 300 or so individual decals in the hideout map alone.

note to self: check back on the script later--adjust bsdf to below--seems to fit best for now

I had one hell of a time trying to figure out how to make it work on inclined surfaces, but i got it eventually. (just flipping the Y rotation after the fact LOL)

just went and asked my partner if i could look at their elbow to observe the bending. i should know these bones but ig it's time for a refresh. mm proper study tomorrow, i'm sleepy

slowly collected qifrey drawings--and a brushbug through the week. putting these under a cut because holy Spoilers(!!!). also body horror and partial nudity (very mild though)

very satisfying to see all the blue (thumbs) gradually turn grey (roughing) and down the line gradually fill out with lineart then tones. i'm still trying to find ways to enjoy and get into the scripting process more (i think i'm getting there). but man when i get to the rough and layout i feel the most at home and relaxed. time actually flies when i get to this point and just like with blendering i get lost in the sauce lol.

(and then i re-read it with my script and freak out and wonder if i'm doing everything right all over again hahaha. i've accepted my fate.)
