So, I wasn’t entirely honest about “unfollowing” Eater NY… I just put them in an RSS folder called “ugh” so that I don’t have to look at them more than once a week if I’m doing anything better (sleeping, boozing, playing with cat, biking, reading books, walking around the block, trying out new sandwiches, etc.)

I’m leaving all my comments on other sites, of which there are plenty. Kind & thoughtful comments are nourishing to young hyperlocal blogs. Try it sometime.

Kudos to Eater for this fine piece of public service journalism, and for reminding us that while Sandy devastated the Northeastern United States over a month ago, many good places to eat still haven’t gotten back on their feet.

Somebody punched me in the head and I yelled up, “I don’t know which one of you just punched me in the head, but if I find out, you’re going to be ejected.” With that, Bill Fitch said to me, “Jess, I know who punched you.” Of course in the heat of the moment, I look at Bill and say, “Who was it?” He said, “It was Kareem and Magic.”
