Chapter 10 unedited. TGaD
"Nikole you need to listen to us when we speak on missions." Steve speaks firmly, taking off towards the tower. I stare at the new girl as he speaks. Who is she?
"You may think you can do something in a better way, but your leader is your commander. No matter what he says, you follow. Understand, Soldier?" Steve snaps at me while piloting the jet. I tense when he calls me soldier. Bucky stands on my right side and grabs my hand with his metal, almost to keep me next to him. I squeeze the vibrainium tightly before standing straighter to mimic all the soldiers I've seen in movies.
"Yes, sir." I look at Bucky before moving to the back of the jet to my seat. The person's folder still within my grip, my whole body rigid with anger towards Steve. Bucky follows and sits next to me, putting his metal arm around me before pulling me close.
"Thank you, Bucky." I whisper and open the white folder to see it was almost completely empty.
Name: Rebekka Thanshar
Location: Base 264
Height: 5' 4"
Powers: Elements. Mainly used water
Extra information: She's out of control. Careful with examinations. Test subject 192 is to be left in the case of evacuation.
I close the folder and look at Bucky to see him already starting at me with his jaw dropped.
"She was pretty much the only one there. Buck, they evacuated." I speak, my voice shaking just a little. He holds my hand with his metal.
"They knew we were coming." Bucky speaks softly.
"Or something happened before we came. I knew it was too quiet. The mission was too simple to be a test of my ability." I whisper and hold his hand tightly.
"It was buzzing with Hydra agents just a few days ago." Bucky's face shifts a little as though he's evaluating what happened.
A soft groan comes comes from Rebekka, and both Bucky and I instantly look at her. She shifts and tries to roll over but is unable to through the seatbelt. I lean against Bucky. He let's go of my hand and holds me tightly to himself.
"I got you, doll. You're safe." He whispers gently into my ear. I nod and close my eyes to relax. I take in multiple deep breath as Bucky rubs my arm. Rebekka shifts against and moans and her unconscious state.
"Bucky." I mutter and hold him tightly.
"I'm here, Nikole. I'm here." He whispers and keeps rubbing my arm.
"Bucky, she's unstable. We brought an unstable person onto our jet." I look at him.
"I know. But from what I've seen you are more powerful. Whatever your power is, you are better." Bucky looks at me, trying to comfort and still my worries.
"Creation" I speak softly.
"What?" He suddenly looks confused.
"I'm a Creator, Bucky. I am a Power Creator. That's what I am..." I explain and his jaw drops a little.
"Are you serious? So you can look like me?" He speaks with disbelief. I nod and shape shift into Bucky himself. He gasps softly.
"Wow..." He breathes out. I rotate my left shoulder to look at the metal. Bucky frowns a little and grabs my left hand with his right. I shift back to myself. My right hand cups his cheek.
"I can do anything, unless it's healing myself. It always goes weird." I smile softly. Bucky smiles back, and I begin to laugh, getting an idea. He looks confused as I pull away from him and stand up, facing Bucky.
I become serious and shift into Steve. Bucky holds in a laugh.
"Nikole. How many times have I told you? -I- am the Captain. -I- make the rules. And you must follow -my- orders. I. Am. Your. Leader." My voice comes out just like Steve's as I yell at Bucky. He puts a hand to his mouth to keep from laughing.
"Do you think this is funny? Quit laughing!" I stay in Steve's character as Bucky tries to stay quiet.
"You're such a... such a..... cotton-headed mother fucker." I shout at Bucky. He looses it and bursts out laughing. I laugh with him, sounding like Steve. It sounded weird to hear the laugh as I'm used to him yelling at me.
I stop swiftly as I see Steve's actual figure appears next to me, arms crossed.
"Having fun borrowing my body?" He speaks harshly towards me. I shift back to myself and look to Bucky, my shoulders dropping in shame and sorrow.
"I'm sorry, sir...." I mutter softly and look down.
"Fuck you, jackasses." All our heads turn at lightning speed to Rebekka as she speaks and shifts, still unconsciousness.
"Don't ever mimic me again. You have no place to do that anymore." Steve growls at me while looking at Rebekka. None of us had looked away from her after the outburst.
"I'm sorry, Steve..." I whisper and back away from the blonde before tripping a little and falling into Bucky's lap. He let's out a soft grunt and holds me tightly to him, growling protectively and glaring at Steve.
"Back off." Bucky speaks firmly and with a slight threat to his voice. Steve's jaw clenches tightly and doesn't release for a few long seconds. He turns sharply on his heel and strides back to the cockpit, muttering softly under his breath.
My eyes begin to sting as I stare after him. Whatever happened to us? Bucky's hand caresses my face and I pull back in surprise.
"He can't hurt you, love. I'm here to protect you now." He whispers in my ear before kissing my cheek. I nod softly and lean against him, tears threatening to spill over.
I flinch lightly as I think about him yelling at me.
"I'm here, doll." Bucky whispers and runs his hand through my hair.
"Bucky.... why does he hate me.." I whisper as a few tears escape my eyes.
"He doesn't doll. Hush... it's Ok.. he's just hurt and has a lot on his plate." Bucky strokes my hair and kisses my forehead. My emotions threaten to spill over but I push them back.
"He acts like it... we were so close at one point... and then I fucked up. Like always... just like me." I bury my face into his shoulder.
"Nikole, you are not a fuck up. You make mistakes. You are human." Bucky comforts.
"Human?! I'm not human as long as I have these.... these.... CURSES! Tell me. Do you feel human with all your enhancements? You're experiments? Do you feel human with what has been happened to you?!" I speak harshly as my emotions get the better of me for a second. Bucky stares at me with his eyes wide and jaw dropped from my outburst. After a few seconds of shock, he responds, sighing and averting his gaze.
"No. I guess I don't." His state of utter defeat takes me by surprise, and I put hand under his chin before cupping his cheek.
"I know. I'm sorry. I was angry and sad and I.... I took it out on you. I shouldn't have." I gently place my lips against his forehead and readjust so I'm sitting on his lap sideways. Bucky nods and looks at me before his mouth meets mine in a tender kiss. My thumb gently strokes his cheek as he slowly pulls back.
"It's ok, doll. I understand, and I only love you all the more." He whispers and touches his nose to mine. I nod slowly and lean against him, my movements a little sluggish.
"Thank you...." My voice becomes a jumble of words as I close my eyes. Exhaustion from the mission hitting me as my adrenaline leaves. I wish I slept better this week...
"For you my dear, anything." Bucky whispers softly and rubs my head head. I stifle a yawn and rest my head on his shoulder. His hands wrap around me and hold my lower back. A soft purr like noise escapes him.
"Nikole, doll, get some rest. I'll watch over you." I yawn again and don't try to hide it. My eyes getting heavier and I close them slowly.
"It's been a long day... hasn't it James?" I mutter softly.
"Yes it has, Miss. Wanez. Now get some rest." He responds quietly and kisses my forehead. Bucky's voice leaves his mouth softly and beautifully.
"Guess it's true, I'm not good at a one night stand. These nights never seem to go to plan. I don't want you to leave... will you hold my hand?" I slowly drop my right hand and grab his left, holding the vibrainium gently.
"I didn't know you sang, Bucky." I yawn softly and snuggle a little against him.
"Normally only by myself... now hush. Let sleep overtake you." I nod slowly and bury my face into his neck as he holds me to his chest.
"Oh won't you stay with me? Cause you're all I need... This is love and clear to see.... so darling stay with me...." I smile softly, hearing that he changed a few words in the song.
"Why am I so emotional? No it's not a good look gain some self control." My muscles relax and become heavy as Bucky's voice seems to become more distant. Sleep's addictive touch luring me in.
"Deep down I know this never works. But you could lay with me so it doesn't hurt...."
*-*-*-*-*
My eyes slowly opened to sunlight filtered in through the window.
Ugh. Why do mornings exist? I muttered and groaned before I slowly rolled over to see the chiseled face of Eric.
To annoy us that's why. He muttered, half asleep. I chuckled softly and curled up next to him. Eric hugged me and kissed my forehead.
I love you, Nikole. You're all I need.... He whispered tenderly.
I love you too, Eric... I kissed his bare chest before sliding from the bed, having grabbed the small blanket on the top of the covers. I wrapped it around myself, slightly self-conscious. My feet cautiously carried me to the bathroom, each step in pain from the night's endeavours.
You alright, sweetheart? I heard shuffling as Eric climbed from the bed. His hands quickly found my waist and led me towards my planned destination.
I'm alright. I wince at the sudden pain as I shifted my lower torso too much.
Did I hurt you last night? Eric's voice came out soft, and his arms carefully scooped me up as he gently carried me to the bathroom.
A.... a little. But that's the way it should be.... I muttered softly and held the blanket tighter.
I'm sorry, love. He whispered and kissed my forehead. Eric gently sat me down on my feet just inside the bathroom door.
Will you need more help than this? He kept his voice low but a hint of concern entered it.
No. I got it. I smiled softly at him before shutting the bathroom door.
*-*-*-*-*
"Fuck...." I muter as I wake up. My body shifts a little on Bucky and I suddenly feel a pressure that wasn't there when I fell asleep. I blush heavily, realizing that I must have writhed and shifted too much in my sleep.
My gaze slowly lifts to see Bucky's head tilted back, eyes closed, and mouth slightly parted. I smile gently at him and gently kiss the corner of his mouth.
He reacts immediately. Bucky's eyes flash open and he pushes me off him towards the floor. I hit with my butt on the jet ground as he follows swiftly, pushing my shoulders do the ground, his knees straddling my hips. His lips quickly find mine in a desperate manor as he keeps my shoulders pinned to the jet floor. I kiss him back just as quickly and run my hands over his arms as my heart pounds. This intense feeling of desperation only happening a few times before. And only with Eric.
Bucky's hips press mine and I feel the slight bulge in his pants, turning me on as well. I try not to shift against it, letting him lead, as he he slides his metal hand into my hair. My right shoulder rotates a little from the release of pressure before I sink my fingers into his hair. I smile softly when I realize just how soft and amazing his hair feels.
He smiles into the kiss shortly after I do before pulling back just enough to take a few quick breaths. Bucky swiftly begins to kiss me again as his right hand slides to hold the back of my neck. He bites my lip and tugs before forcing his tongue into my mouth. His hips grind against mine, amplifying the desire building within me as I wrap my legs around his hips and rub opposite against him, earning a soft groan from Bucky to radiate around my mouth.
I move my right hand back to his bottom shirt line before pushing my hand under the fabric to touch his abs and torso. Bucky's left hand balls my hair into his fist as his tongue explores my mouth, each touch gentle but will tons of strength. My hands rest on his gut as he shifts and moves his hips smoothly against my own, Bucky's core muscles clenching and unchanging with every movement against my hips. I moan softly and grab his waistband again before pushing my first finger in between his boxers and leather pants. He groans and looks down at my hand before looking at me. I smile softly before pushing the rest of my hand between the two fabrics as I cup him gently.
"Five minutes you two! If you're not strapped in get buckled!" Steve calls from the copilot's seat. Bucky's cheeks turn a light red as he climbs off, forcing my hand from him, and sits into his seat, buckling up again. I stare at him and sit up, my legs crossing over each other as my body temperature rises and my face reddens.
I reach up and rub the back of my neck. Only to feel the thin gold chain from Loki.

Chapter 9 part 2 unedited TGaD
A few buttons click before a red glow comes from the keypad.
"Damn it." Bucky curses under his breath.
"They changed passwords." He mutters and steps back. I love past him and take his place and hover my hand over the pad.
"Break down the door, Buck." I force air from my nose and turn around to stare at Steve in the sun light. His order stupid in my mind.
"I can do this without making a scene, Steven." I speak firmly.
"You lost that name months ago. I said break it down." Steve growls and the air becomes thick with tension and anger. I whip around and use my ability to type in the password without touching it. The door swings open and I hear Steve growl in both anger and disappointment.
I go through the door when I get pulled to the side before Bucky or Steve could see, the orbs floating down the hallway away from me. A hand covers my mouth to keep me silent as Bucky leads Steve down the hallway. I struggle and the unknown person grunts as I knee their stomach. The person snarls softly and Steve enters the room the orbs went towards, Bucky standing near it to look out for anyone he could see in the midnight black hall.
"Lets make this easy darling." The person whispers in my ear and pushes me against the wall, running their right hand against my chest.
"Don't touch me." I hiss softly and try to get away from his grip. He grabs my hip tightly and shoves his hips against mine. His hand meets the one holding my wrists. My blood flow to my hands slowly stood as they both pulse lightly.
"Play nice." He growls again and I pull violently pull my knee up between his two legs. The agent grunts through clenched teeth and quickly grabs my throat, cutting off my air supply. I ball my fists and connect them to his sides. He holds my neck tighter. I choke and become weaker with my punches. My voice gives out a small cry as a sharp pain goes through my forearm and something cool enters under my skin.
"Bucky...." I choke out, black spots filling my vision. I turn my head to where the slight silhouette of Bucky is at, my punches barely making impact the longer the man held my throat. The sound of footsteps barely reach my ears before my vision becomes black.
"GET OFF OF HER, BASTARD!!" Bucky yells and the hands suddenly let go of my throat after a loud cry in pain, allowing me to crumple to the ground. I gasp for breath, shaking violently from the sudden rush of oxygen. Hands cup my face gently.
"Nikole? Nikole, doll? Please talk to me." Bucky's voice shakes softly and I smile.
"Buck... I'm alright...." My vision slowly comes back and I see Bucky kneeling next to me. I gradually sit up and hold onto his shoulder for support.
"Thank you for helping me..." I run my throat softly and he helps me stand up.
"You're welcome." I put my hand in my pocket and feel the flash drive I was going to use in their computers. Damn it. I growl softly at myself and use my Creation ability to bring the files to my flash drive, wiping them from the computers.
"Let's get the fuck out of here...." I mutter and limp down the hallway a few feet before a soft light in a side room catches my attention. After glancing to Bucky, I walk in and find a girl on a lab table. Her chest rising and falling steadily and slowly. Bucky follows swiftly, his gun poised.
"Bucky! We can't leave her." I look at him and he sighs in defeat, not wanting to hurt me again after the Hydra agent, before handing me his gun to pick her up. I smile at him and grab her file before walking back to Steve whom is standing out of the computer room, my own gun at the ready.
Steve sees the girl and sighs softly before leading us out, the exit as silent as our entrance.

Chapter 9 part 1 unedited. TGaD
Once I reach the top floor of the Tower, I see Steve standing there, waiting for me. I glance down to make sure I have my bag before walking over to him. He looks displeased. Steve's blue eyes narrowed and his arms cruised over his chest.
"What? Not late." I snap at him, mimicking his stance a few feet from him.
"What did I walk in on." He demanded more than asked of me, his voice form and tight.
"Exactly what I told you, jackass. " I spit my words.
"Language. I don't buy it." I take a few steps towards the super soldier, becoming toe to toe with him.
"This is EXACTLY why I never come to YOU for ANYTHING." I spit my words angrily at him.
"I. Can't. Trust. YOU!!" I shout at Steve and slam my hand against his chest. He stumbles backwards, eyes wide. My body radiates with anger as I stare at him. Steve pulls his finger up to his ear and mutters something before addressing me again.
"But you can trust the God of lies and mischief. He's just going to use you, Nikole." I stride towards Steve, my steps showing my anger.
"You don't know him. Tell me, Jackass, what's his favorite part time?" A low growl forms in my throat.
"Pulling pranks." Steve smirks, thinking he's right.
"WRONG. Loki's favorite part time is to get somewhere high and watch the cars pass below while he relaxes." My voice comes out firm and angrily. Steve stays collected as I shout another question.
"What's his favorite late night activity?" I barely hear the footsteps rapidly moving towards me. Steve stays silent inn from of me.
"Answer me Steve, damn it!" I slam my palm against his chest, making him fly backwards and into the crates with feet behind him.
"NICOLE!" A new voice shouts as i get slammed to the ground. A brown haired man sits on my lower stomach and puns my hands to the floor. I glare at the newcomer, not realizing my sparring partner.
"I bested Steve. Don't think I can't best you." I spit into his face, and he doesn't flinch or wipe it off.
"Nikole. You need to calm down." The man speaks gently. I writhe in his grip, and he tightens it.
"I said calm down, Nikole." I glare at the brunette and keep moving under him, trying to break free.
"Nikole, please doll. Relax." I hesitate and look at him, my vision slowly becoming focused at the nickname. I shake my head to clear the anger fog it was in. I quickly recognize him.
"Bucky?" I whisper and relax. He nods and smiles at me but keeps his grip on my wrists.
"Bucky? What happened?" I ask and shift under him. Bucky slowly loosens his grip. He slowly looks over at Steve, who's crawling slowly into a standing position. I look at Steve as well and gasp softly.
"Did I do that?" I whisper, and Bucky nods.
"Shit. Not again." I mutter and close my eyes. Bucky slowly gets off of me to talk to Steve.
I carefully sit up, frustrated at myself for losing control again. My hands come up to my face as I sigh softly.
"I'm an idiot." I mutter, pulling my hands back to see Bucky look over at me, hearing what I said, before turning to speak to Steve again. I quickly pull mangy emerald gloves on and walk slowly into the jet, head down and shoulders sagging. I cover my face again, sitting as far from the pilot's seat as possible.
A few minutes pass, I hear too pairs of steps walking towards me. I don't look up.
"Nikole. Doll, please look at me." I hear Bucky whisper and shift.I don't look up.
"Nikole, love. No one was hurt." He puts his flesh hand on my left and his metal on my right, the cold causing me to jump softly. Bucky pulls my hands from my face without resistance. I look at him at eye level, Bucky crouching on the ground. I watch as Steve pats Bucky's shoulder before going to the pilot's seat closing the door聽 score taking off.
"I didn't bring my stuff on board." I whisper while staring into the brunette's blue eyes. He smiles softly, still holding my hands.
" I got it for you. " He speaks softly and the plane takes off. I jump lightly and pull my hands back from Bucky.
"Wait. I thought it was only Steve and I on the mission today." I speak and sit up. Bucky stands and takes the seat next to me.
"It was. We... Decided it may be safer for me to join you two." He speaks carefully. I sigh softly and shake my head.
"It's because of me isn't it?" Bucky gently grabs my hand and holds it, slowly intertwining his fingers with mine, and I don't pull back, accepting his touch. I take in a deep breath and lean my head against the side of the jet.
"It was me. That's why you're here..." I whisper and look at Bucky.
"You understand why, right, doll?" Bucky whispers and places his flesh hand on my shoulder. I nod slowly, feeling bad about what I had done, and I lean against the second super soldier. He drapes his arm over my shoulders and holds me to his left side. I place my right hand on his thigh and sigh softly.
"Nikole..." Bucky whispers softly, causing me to look at him. His lips crash against mine and his flesh hand keeps my chin tilted up. My eyes close slowly as I begin to kiss him back, the shock leaving. His lips are soft... My brain starts to go crazy and lusts for him and my right hand slides towards his hip, the kiss deepening slowly. It starts gradually until I feel his tongue fully in my mouth. I him pleasantly and open my mouth for him to have greater access. My right hand tugs softly at his waist band. Bucky pulls back suddenly and I look at him.
"I didn't know you felt this way Bucky...." I whisper , slightly breathless.
"I told you yesterday and you rejected me. I didn't think you felt like this after that." He grabs my right hand, forcing me to release his waistband. I blush lightly as my hidden crush on him is forced to the surface.
"Yeah... A little...." I whisper and bite my lip.
"I love it when you do that." Bucky looks at my lips before back to my hazel green eyes. I smile softly and look away, blushing more.
"Thank you?" He chuckles softly before using his metal hand to turn my head back. I jump a little at the cold and look at him before his lips find mine again. He's gentle as his lips move against mine. I slowly out my leg hand in his hair, securing it in the soft brown locks. He hums softly for a second before pulling back, a gentle smile on his lips. I keep blushing as I look at him.
"I'm... Sorry..." Bucky looks away and pulls his hands from mine and my chin. I tilt my head, and my necklace slides against my neck. Loki. Oh shit. I pull back quickly from Bucky, pulling my hands back, and I look at the floor.
"It's alright." I whisper softly. Bucky stands slowly and heads to the front of the jet. I sigh softly and rub the emerald between my thumb and pointed finger as my left hand covers my gut, slightly embarrassed at what I had done.
The ride becomes silent once Bucky had left. I lean my head back and relax, letting memories filter in whenever desired.
*-*-*-*-*-*-*
I tapped my foot in the elevator. The Avengers Tower. Xavier wasn't lying when he said he was giving me up.
Nervous sweetheart? The brunette asked as I looked at the floor.
I'm never nervous. I muttered and wrung my hands together.
You look nervous. He spoke again and I looked at him to see the man whom was speaking. He had brown facial hair in a circle like shape. His eyes as brown as a deer's. -Pretty handsome for his age. Not my type.-
I slowly turned to the floor again as the elevator stops. He placed his hand on my shoulder and whispered.
I'll be here the whole time, Nikole.聽 Just tell me if it becomes too much. I nodded slowly, and he led me out to the floor with many people within it. A blonde man walked up to me with a gentle smile. I looked up into his well shaped face. His blue eyes reminding me of the ocean after the storm.
-Beautiful...- I had thought. My eyes looked over the man wearing a light blue, skin-tight, short sleeves tee shirt and light grey sweat pants. He was bare foot. The blonde stuck his hand out, and I took it slowly.
Steve Rogers. His voice was smooth and gentle.
Nikole Wanez. I pump his hand carefully. Steve looks at my elevator partner.
Tony, do you think we should do this today? Steve asked softly, still holding my hand. I pulled it back from him and looked around the room at the other people. Another blonde standing there next to two others, serious muscle definition showed in his arms and legs. Another short hair brunette stood next to a redhead. In the back, next to a window, was a man with black, shoulder length hair, and his nose stuck in a book, not once had he looked up. I backed up, straight into Tony.
Woah. Nikole, you don't look so good. Steve spoke calmly.
He's right, you don't. Tony whispered. I smiled softly to reassure them even though black spots began to fill my vision.
Nikole, you should sit. I nodded at Steve after he spoke. He started to lead me to a chair when my knees buckled and my vision went fully black. And I fainted.
*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*
I lean my head up from the side of the jet and look towards the cockpit. Steve and Bucky's soft voices reaching my ears as incomprehensible.I
"Hey Steve?" I speak calmly.
"Nikole?" His voice becomes firm and guarded.
"How much longer?" My voice hardens slightly.
"A few hours." There's a slight pause at the end, as though Steve wanted to say more but decided against it.
"Ok... Thank you." I speak carefully and lean my head back, smiling softly at the idea of continuing the memory.
*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*
I woke up in an empty room, having slept on the couch. I shifted a little and felt a warm arm around me along with what had felt like my head in a lap. The person shifted a little under me and I glanced up to see the face of a man I hadn't seen when I first arrived to the Tower. He was another brunette with barely shoulder length hair. His head tilted back and his eyes closed, soft snores escaped from his lips. The man shifted again and his right hand pulled me closer to him. I got slightly nervous being around the strange man. But yet. I felt of my calm. Something about the way his face was sculpted. It reminded me of something familiar. Something comforting. Something.... Safe.... I shifted a little and his eyes flashed open, quickly looking down at me. They were a brilliant blue.
I smiled softly at the stranger. His torso covered with a long sleeved maroon shirt.
Have you been awake long, doll? His voice came out smoothly and a little hoarse from the snoring.
Not long. Who the hell are you? I spoke my question and sat up, still oddly calm with the man.
James Buchanan Barnes. Most call me Bucky. He shifted again to hide his left arm more.
Nikole Wanez. I spoke and held my left arm out for the sole purpose to find out why he was hiding his.
Don't. He spoke softly.
Why not? I asked, getting really curious.
Bad memories associated with it. His eyes softened with sadness.
It? I gestured towards it again.
I.... I have a prosthetic... James's voice became quieter.I
Can I see it? I tilted my head to the right. James moved slowly before pulling his left arm toward me. I watched as the metal hand came into view, the maroon shirt covering everything from the wrist up. I gasped softly and looked at him. James looked away, avoiding eye contact.
Is it just a hand or the whole arm? Can I touch it? I asked gently.
It is he whole arm. If you wish to. I can't stop you. Hee spoke as though he had no right left in him.
Yes you can, James. Just tell me no. I gently grabbed his right hand for support. He looked at me, shock filled his gaze as he held my hand back.
Not yet, please. I stared into his beautiful blue eyes before nodding.
Alright. Anything you wish. I whispered before letting his normal hand go.
Where's Steve or Tony? I spoke their names as though unsure about them.聽
Steve said he was going to have everyone go back to the designated rooms, as though to make it less stressful for you to be introduced to the gang. He carried you to my floor and asked for me to watch you. I apparently bad at that. James chuckled softly and shook his head.
No. you're not. you just fell asleep. I smiled softly at him.
Oh, and he told me to tell him when you woke. He spoke again and pulled out his black IPhone, most likely to text Steve.
He really did all that for me? I whispered.
It was all Tony's idea. Bucky turned his phone off and looked at me.
Do you need anything, Nikole? To eat or drink? I nodded and stood up, James following shortly after me.
Maybe water. Or, if you have vodka. I followed James to the small kitchenette.
Vodka? You don't look 21, Nikole. He looked me over with his eyebrows furrowed together and a slight frown upon his face.
Well, I'm not. I muttered and looked away.
Then lets just het you some water. James grabbed a glass and filled it. I sighed, kind of聽wanting the burn of alcohol. He handed it to me, our fingers connecting for a second on accident, a few small sparks of emotion flying, but none big enough for me to register them. I smiled and drank some of the water, blushing lightly.
*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*
I open my eyes to see Bucky crouching in front of me, shaking my leg.
"Nikole?" His voice is soft and filled with concern.
"I'm up, Buck." I smile at him and he stays frowning slightly.
"You sure you're up for this today?" Steve asks while walking to me from the cockpit, wearing his Captain America suit. He reaches out to place his hand on my shoulder but stops short. I look at him with a little sorrow as Steve pulls his hand back to himself.
"Yes, Captain." I sit up and run a hand through my hair. Bucky stands up and holds his hand out for me. I take the offer and stand up.
"we'll arrive in five minutes. Suit up while I tell you your orders." I grab my bag Bucky brought on board and open it to grab my pistol and dagger.
"We're only here for a quick in and out trip. Hydra has taken some information on our team. Our goal is to find it and shut it down. By any聽 means possible. Get in. Get out." Steve speaks sternly. I chuckle softly and a cold hand finds it's way to my shoulder.
"Nikole, we're serious." Bucky speaks softly.
"I know. I will be while on the field." I make sure my voice is reassuring as I grab the dark grey jacket and throw it over my shoulders.
"See you out there..." Steve whispers softly and retreats back to the pilot's seat.
I look聽back to Bucky to see him watching Steve go.
"Buck?" I speak calmly and touch his left shoulder.
"Yes,聽doll?" Bucky turns to me slowly.
"Why did you guys ask if I could still do this?" I step closer to him, putting the pistol into its holster and the dagger into its sheath.
"Because you passed out so quickly. Steve asked if you were doing ok after you said thank you. Ann's you never responded." Bucky takes a step towards me and puts his hands on my hips.
"O-oh... I'm sorry. I was just relieving memories.... I'm alright." Bucky smiles and I run my hand over his metal arm.
"Why did you ask me not to that day?" I twine my fingers with his metal ones.
"I was nervous in front of a beautiful woman. I didn't want her to be afraid of me on our first meeting." Bucky steps closer, pressing his front to mine, pulling his right hand onto my neck. My breathing picks up a little as I look up into his eyes.
He takes on a deeper breath before pressing his lips on mine. The kids was rough and needy, unlike the other two before the trip began. Bucky growls softly into the kiss and his right hand keeps my neck where he wants it. His lips kiss mine aggressively and I kiss back as fast as I can. It starts slowly, his tongue runs against my lips carefully. Bucky keeps kissing me and my free hand slides up his chest and to the back of his head, holding his soft brown hair.
Bucky's tongue presses between my lips, asking silently for greater access. I oblige and accept his request, opening my mouth. He pushes his tongue in gently before swirling it into my mouth. Bucky releases my right hand and taps my thigh, signaling to jump. I grab his shoulder and jump, wrapping my legs around his waist. He pushes my against the side of the jet and I grunt lightly. Bucky starts to attack my neck with kisses and sucks harshly against my neck, right under my shirt collar.
I hum softly until a throat clears itself. I pull Bucky's head away by his hair, turning bright red. We both state at Steve as my body temperature heats up with embarrassment.
"If you two are done with your make out session, we're here." Bucky nods and slowly pulls me off of him. I smile at Steve and check my gun again as the sound of Vibrainium shifting fills the room while Bucky shifts his arm.
Steve opens the cargo hatch and looks back at us.
"You two with me?" I nod to the man in the Captain America suit.
"Till the end." Bucky states.
Steve steps from the jet and holds his shield up in front of him. I follow Steve with my pistol poised and ready to fire, Bucky following silently.
The slow walk to the Hydra base was silent. The sound of our breathing filled the air around us. My heart pounds in my chest as each second passes and still no sound comes. Bucky growls softly at the sight of the grey bunker. I glance back to him, and his face twists in anger but his eyes held the slightest touch of fear. It shouldn't be this quiet...
We make it to the bunker door, and Steve holds a fist up to stop us. He looks back at us and nod at him. The door opens with a slight creak and no lock resistance. This isn't right. This shouldn't be unlocked. I glance back to Bucky for some reassurance, only to see the horror I felt within Bucky's eyes. I turn back to the pitch black room from the midday sun and Bucky.
"Nikole, is it possible for you to light up the room or something?" Steve whispers and I nod.
"Of course." I take a deep breath in through my nose before exhaling small, flying orbs, glowing a soft blue or white through my mouth. Steve's face is caught in the glow of a few of the balls, exposing his childlike demeanor with them.
"Show us the computers with our information on them." I command the orbs, my voice coming out in a whisper. They flow brighter for a second, as though accepting the order, before beginning to float to the back of the room to a door. Steve, Bucky, and I all move slowly after them, each person looking in a different direction in case of an attack. I nod when Steve looks at me upon reaching the door. He tries it. Locked. Bucky taps my shoulder and I let him by. He pushes past Steve and goes to unlock the door.

Chapter 8 unedited. TGaD
I look at Loki after my clock, who's staring at my door. 7:08
"Did I say something wrong?" His fingers drum on his thigh. Loki doesn't respond, so I walk to him and place my hand on his shoulder.
"No. I think you just gave him information he hasn't heard before." He looks at me and grabs my shoulders upon standing.
"It's alright. About time he was told that anyways." I nod and step away from Loki.
"I need to finish getting ready." I turn around to grab my weapons when Loki's arms snake around my waist. He pulls himself fully next to me; his whole front against my back.
"Loki. I have to go." I chuckle, and he makes a soft purring noise in my ear.
"Five more minutes...." He whispers and moves my hair back to kiss the side of my neck. I smile and lean into him, glancing at the clock. 7:09
"I'll give you six." I whisper, and Loki kisses harder, sending shivers through my spine. My breathing picks up a little and I wave my hand to make sure everything gets packed so I'm ready to leave once six minutes are up. Loki shifts a little and presses his nose to my jaw bone. He twists his hands on me, signaling he wants me to turn around. I oblige and his lips press against mine. I kiss him gently and trace his arms to his shoulders before grabbing Loki's black hair, which is still fairly wet from his shower. He makes a soft noise somewhere between a man and a hum.
I tug his hair softly as his hand slides down towards my ass. A small yelp escapes my lips as he squeezes it tightly. Loki's throat releases a deep chuckle as he behind to leave kisses along my jaw. I make a soft humming noise as he pulls me tightly against him. My skin shifts a little as he sucks against my neck and I pull from him, forcing Loki to stop.
"No marks. The mission. Steve." I speak firmly and Loki nods.
"As you wish." He kisses my lips tenderly and I run my hands through his hair with resistance from the water. Loki groans and growls softly when my hand is forced to tug a little. I decide to not run my hand through and just massage his scalp, earning soft groans through his kisses. Loki presses against my neck firmly as he tries to stay silent. I take in a slightly loud gasp as Loki hits my shirt line.
"Loki... Too low..." I whisper and pull back again.
"There has to be some boundaries for this to work. We can break them later, but it's too early now." His green eyes look up and connect with mine.
"As you wish." He kisses my cheek before looking over my shoulder to the alarm clock. 7:13.
"Well, I should let you go." Loki sighs softly and releases my ass and hip. I slowly release his hair and nod.
"Remember to meet me?" I whisper .
"Always." I lean up and kiss his cheek. Loki smiles softly as I turn to grab my duffel bag and head from my room.
Nerves hit me like a train once I step from my room, Loki following slowly.
"Wait. Nikole." His voice food my ears, and I turn around to look at him. A small, fist sized box in his hands.
"What is it, Loki?" A going forms in his eyes as he lifts the box my direction, indicating I should take it. I take in a deep breath before accepting the gift.
"I've had it for awhile. For when you go on your first mission... I didn't realize it would be six months." Loki adverts his gaze and rubs the back of his neck. I slowly open the box to see a single hold chain with a small but beautiful emerald hanging from it. A small gasp escapes my lips and I look at Loki.
"Y-you didn't have to." I whisper and we make eye contact again.
"Of course I did." He takes a few steps forward to be next to me.
"Do I have to put it on myself?" I smile and look at the box to see Loki's long fingers delicately grabbing the golden chain. His nose brushes my left cheek as he claps the necklace together in the back. I close my eyes, and Loki pulls me into a hug.
"Be safe, kitten." He whispers into my ear.
"I'll try, Loki." He kisses my cheek and steps back, letting me go to the elevator.
"See you soon." I speak as the doors shut between us.

Chapter 7 unedited. TGaD
After 45 minutes of pure music and water relaxation, I step from the tub while it drains and wrap my baby blue towel around me. I open the door and see a man sitting on my bed, staring my direction. Panicking, I slam the door shut without seeing who it was. I dress while speaking to Tony's program.
"FRIDAY! I thought I said no visitors!!" I scold her.
" I couldn't stop him Miss. Wanez. " FRIDAY responds. I exit the bathroom wearing the emerald bra and black shorts. Once I see the man, I recognize him. Loki. Shit. Loki watches me for the second time, looking my frame up and down.
"You weren't lying when you said you sleep in that." He whispers and makes the contact before realizing what he said and averting his gaze. His cheeks become red the more the silence rolls on.
"Sorry. I didnt.... Silent realize you going occupied." He apologized without looking at me, and I sigh softly.
"No. I wasn't lying, clearly. Yes, I was occupied. That's why I asked for no visitors. Hey, I'm covered." I walk to him and sit on the bed. Loki looks at me slowly.
" How long have you been here? " My gaze slips to his lips for a second before going back to his eyes.
"A few minutes. I waited for you." Loki speaks quietly, completely different from his normal character.
"For what?" Why would you wait, when you could hear my music playing?
"The sunset. You didn't come to the roof like every night before. Until tonight that is." Loki stares into my eye. I think for a few seconds, my emotions for him spiking at his words. He waited.
"I'm so sorry. I saw it from here, I had a few things on my mind. Loki?" I speak his name as his gaze tries to look out my small window. Loki slowly connects with my green hazel eyes.
"What is it, Nikole?" His voice comes out smoothly and gently.
"Steve invited me to my first mission tomorrow." I watch Loki for his reaction. He smiled slowly, and when he speaks, his voice is lighthearted with joking.
"Guess he took your words to heart." I laugh softly, forgetting that I never said that to Steve in front of Loki.
"Of course he did. Why wouldn't you?" I joke back.
"Well. Due to the fact that you聽 to be up early tomorrow, I should leave so you can rest." Loki stands to leave.
" Wait! Please. Can you stay? To make sure... The nightmares, Loki... " He looks as though he's thinking about my words. I wait silently. Please stay. Don't leave me. Please....
After a few long seconds, Loki cups my cheek, a little unsure if he should.
"Let me get dressed." I smile softly, and Loki walks into my bathroom. Once he shuts the door, I pull the covers back and slide under them, my eyes already becoming heavy.
Loki comes out from the bathroom wearing silk, emerald pants. I blush lightly as I realize that we are matching and his pants hung a little loose on his hips. He sits on the edge of the bed and looks at me, still a little unsure.
"How'd you get dressed without having any PJ's down here?" I question as he pulls the blankets back and slides in next to me.
"Magic." Loki chuckles softly, and I pull myself in next to him. My head rests on his chest and my left arm drapes over his chest and my left arm drapes over his stomach.
"Thank you, Loki." I whisper and shut the lights off after allowing myself to create a small but if telekinesis.
"Anytime." He whispers. Loki starts to him to a song I'm not familiar with; my body relaxing completely before I slip into sleep.
*-*-*-*-*-*-*-
Eric was standing right there. Or, he was when my eyes were closed.
When I open them, the trees were beaten and dead as the winter bore on.
The slight squeaking of a wheelchair approaches from behind me. Xavier probably has a new mission.
"Nikole. You haven't been the same since we lost Eric two months ago. We're worried about your health, so I took the liberty of calling Nick Fury. He currently had a place being prepared for your arrival. You can't mourn Eric forever. Maybe the Avengers can help you in a way I never could." I never turned around, never responded to Xavier, just accepted the fact that my family didn't need me anymore. Didn't want me.
I'm officially being pushed out of the Mansion.
*-*-*-*-*-*-*-
I wake up shaking softly and on the verge of hyperventilating. I had rolled over at some point in my sleep, and Loki must have followed as a constant warmth radiates on my back and around my waist. He snores softly into my ear and his right leg is pulled over my two. My breathing stays rapid and I find his hand on my stomach. I trace the words I love you over and over, in attempt to help myself without waking Loki.
After a few minutes, my breathing slows and the writing continues. I stop suddenly, realizing Loki's snores had stopped, but our position hasn't changed. I feel his chest rising and falling at a steady awake pace.
"How long have you been awake?" I whisper.
"Enough to feel you trace the same thing twice. How about yourself?" He asks gently and pushes his nose into my now dry hair, breathing in the tropical fruit scent.
"A few minutes. Just had a small relapse back to my last week at Xavier's, feeling as useless as shit." I suddenly want to pull my words back.
"Why was that?" I shake my head.
"Nikole, you can trust me." I smile softly, remembering what he is the god of.
"Me? I can trust the God of lies and mischief." I speak a little lighthearted. Loki pulls his head back from my hair. From Nick offense or not, I couldn't tell.
"Wait. I'm sorry. I trust you with my life. I felt useless because I lost my partner to death and mourned for two months." I speak quickly and sigh at the end. Loki stiffen next to me, and despite wanting to stay in our comfortable position, I roll over to face him. He looks at me, shock filling his gaze.
"What? You've seen death before." I watch him.
"But I've never had anyone, other than my brother, say that they trust me." I smile at him.
"Well, why wouldn't I? I'm with you everyday." A burst of courage shoots through me, and I gently cup his cheek. Look I tenses, making me think about my action, before leaning into the touch and closing his eyes. His breathing slows a bit and a smile forms on his lips.
"Why wouldn't you?" He whispers my words. I chuckle softly. Loki opens his eyes and looks into my green hazel. Slowly, almost agonizingly, he lifts his hand and returns my gesture.
"Thank you, Nikole." He smiles at me.
"For what? I didn't do anything." I watch his brain process the question, many answers clearly conflicting within him the longer the silence stretches out. After many seconds, Loki speaks.
"For trusting me." I smile again and return my hand to myself.
"Anytime, for my best friend." My eyelids get heavy again, and Loki kisses my forehead.
"Go to sleep, Nikole. You've got a big day ahead of you." I nod slowly as he starts to him the song from before. My eyes close, and I fall asleep again.
*-*-*-*-*-*-*-
Eric grabbed my hand.
"Nikole. Stay. Here. I can't worry about you during this job." He spoke firmly.
"Eric-"
*-*-*-*-*-*-*-
I woke quickly, suddenly feeling cold. I roll over and don't see Loki.
"Loki?" My voice echoes around my room. I shake my head to clear it if the sleeper's fog; once it clears a bit more, I hear a low baritone voice singing softly and my shower running. His voice is beautiful, hitting each note smoothly.
"What would I do without your smart mouth? Drawing me in and you kicking me out." I smile softly at his song choice. All of Me, John Legend.
"Got my head spinning, no kidding. I can't pin you down. What's going on in that beautiful mind? I'm on your magical mystery ride." I keep smiling before I catch the green glow of my alarm clock. 6:46. Loki still singing in the background.
"And I'm so dizzy, don't know what hit me, but I'll be alright. My head's underwater, but I'm breathing fine. You're crazy and I'm out of my mind." I shift in the bed a little and pull the blanket off of me.
"Cause all of me loves all of you. Loves your curves and all your edges. All your perfect imperfections." A wave of curiosity rolls through me as his voice changes a bit in pitch, as though he's thinking of something, making it genuine. I told my head to the side as Loki finishes the song.
Once it's done, I hear the shower turn off. I sit on my bed to wait for him like he did the previous night.
Loki comes out a few minutes later to see me sitting cross-legged on my bed. I smile at him, the towel hugging tightly against his hips. My gaze adverts quickly as soon as I realize that I am staring.
"Sorry." My cheeks color lightly.
"Its alright, kitten. Like what you saw?" Loki asks and walks across the room to sit next to me. I nod slowly, slightly confused about the nickname.
"I love your singing voice, Loki." I look back into his startling green eyes. He smiles softly.
"So, why are you awake so early?" I ask him gently.
" I couldn't sleep. " His face creeps closer to mine.
"Do you need to freshen up before Steve comes and gets you?" He comes closer and his right hand slides over my right. Is he...? His gaze flickers down a little, causing me to pick them bite my lips. Loki bites his gently and makes a soft humming noise before looking back into my eyes.
"No. I'll freshen after it..." I whisper softly. A slow smile crosses his lips and he brings his left hand to the back of my neck. My heart rate rises as his gaze flickers down again. Loki leans in again and presses his thin and cool lips against mine. He closes his eyes and I follow shortly after.
Loki moves his lips against my pair, kissing me multiple times. I respond and kiss him, moving my lips on sync with his. My right hand finds its way into his wet raven hair. My left stays under his. Loki's grip on my neck tightens a little. His lips vanish as he pulls back to breathe, his eyes still closed. I breathe slightly heavily through my lips, the sensation of his lips against mine staying with me like a ghost. I watch as his eyes slowly flutter open.
A smile crawls onto Loki's face.
"Meet me tonight for the sunset?" He asks slowly, and a little breathless, as though staying in the moment. I nod.
"This won't change our friendship, will it?" Loki whispers.
"Only if you want it to." I release his hair and cup his cheek. He seemed to like the answer as he smiles before leaning against my hand. I smile back before it fades once I think on the upcoming mission.
"Nikole? What's wrong?" He traces my jaw, pausing at my lips.
" I'm just nervous for the mission. " My gaze flickers to Loki's lips before returning to his eyes. His thumb runs along my bottom lip, barely touching the skin. I close my eyes as an involuntary shiver runs through me.
"What can I do to help rid you of them?" Loki's voice becomes gentle and soft; I open my eyes again to see him staring at my lips.
"Come with me on the mission." I smile softly knowing Steve would never allow it.
"I can't do that, kitten." I blush lightly at the nickname.
"Meet me when I get back?" Loki leans in again.
" That I can do. " I lean forward and connect my lips to his. Loki responds quickly, placing both of his hands on the side I my neck to pull me closer. Both sets of our eyes close simultaneously. His lips occasionally part against mine as he kisses me more and a touch deeper than the first one. Loki pulls back, both of us panting lightly as we look at each other.
"I hope this changes our friendship." He whispers and rubs the side of my neck.
"Me too, Loki." I gently pull his left hand off my neck so I can hold it again. Loki smiles at my response and laces his fingers in mine.
I look at the clock; it now reading 7:03. Loki looks with me.
"Nikole, you need to dress. Steve will be on his way in a few minutes or so." Loki turns my head back to him. I nod slowly.
"You should as well." My eyes trace his torso to the towel tightly hugging his waist; Loki mimicking the action over me. I stand slowly once we make eye contact, our hands still twine together. My mouth cracks into a grin, and I grab my clothes to change in my bathroom.
After a few minutes, I walk out of the bathroom wearing my black skin tight outfit for missions. I don't notice Steve as I walk towards my nightstand to grab my emerald gloves Tony bought me on my first day here. Loki clears his throat and I turn around to see Steve staring at me.
"Nikole. What the hell did I wall into? What am I seeing." I release a deep breath.
"Oh shit. It's not... We're not... I have nightmares, Steve. And I went to someone for help. Someone who wouldn't tell the whole team." I speak slowly.
"You could have always come to me." I walk towards him, my muscles moving clearly in my leather suit.
" I never felt like it. Steve, you're the Captain, the leader of this team. But Loki... He's... He's different. He made it a point in my first day to become my friend. And we have been everyday since. Bucky and Natasha trains me. They're a little close. Tony and Banner teach me a little, they're mainly in their work. Tony listens when he's around. All you do is yell and lecture me. " I stare at Steve as he processes the information, clearly having some difficulties.
"We're leaving in ten." He whispers and leaves my room.

Chapter 6 unedited. TGaD
Tony follows me out of my room and places his hand on my right shoulder to stop me from leaving.
"Nikole. Get some sleep. I shouldn't say this, but Steve plans on taking on for a trial mission tomorrow." My jaw slacks, and I look at Tony in the eye.
"Seems as though he took your words from a few nights before to heart." Tony chuckles and parts my shoulder before leaving to go to his lab.
I shake my head to clear it and run to the elevator shortly after Tony leaves. Oh my god. I need to go train a bit.聽 I punch in the training room's code and ride within the elevator as it goes up three floors.
I walk into the floor, all but two pairs of lights are turned off. The sound of skin and another thing hitting fabric rings around the room, and I search with my eyes to find its source.
After a few seconds, I notice a well built figure in the corner, repeatedly hitting the bag with his fists. I don't make a sound as the rhythmic sound fills my ears. The light catches on something when his left arm pulls back, showing the distinct feature of Bucky.
"Bucky!" I call happily and he stood mid throw to see who had called his name. His arms stay raised as he sees me.
"Nikole, I didn't see you come in." I smile and walk over to him with a slight bounce in my step.
"What's got you so happy?" Bucky relaxes and rests his human hand on my left shoulder.
"Steve's going to take me on my first mission tomorrow." I giggle and bounce on my toes before becoming serious.
"Can we fight to make sure I got this?" I ask the super soldier.
"I... Nikole...." Bucky shakes his head.
"You won't hurt me. Please?" He doesn't respond but moves quickly to hook my legs from under me. I hop as he bends slightly. I connect with his chest. Bucky catches me. I shift in his arms, wrapping my legs around his neck. He grunts softly. I use my weight to pull him down. Bucky falls, landing on me. I grunt and flip us. My knee pins against his chest. I smirk.
"Gotcha!" I speak. Bucky graphs my legs and flips me over, slamming my back against the ground. The wind flies from within me. He pulls back quickly as I gasp.
" oh god. Nikole, did I hurt you? I didn't mean too. I'm so sorry. " I place a hand on his metal one, causing him to jump and state at them. I wait to speak until I can breath.
"Its alright. Good one. You didn't hurt me. Just got caught unaware." I give Bucky a small grin. His left hand shifts a bit, his fingers intertwining with mine. I stare at him in surprise. He gets a little color in his cheeks and pulls his hand back.
"Sorry." I shake my head
" Bucky, I like you as a friend. Don't be sorry. I should be. I dont... I'm not with you enough to develop... Emotions..... " He shakes his head and looks a bit sad.
"No. I knew it was a long shot. I'll find another." He speaks softly and I put my hand back on his metal one.
"Buck. I'm still your friend. I just... Like someone else." I advert my gaze from him at the last part. He chuckles softly.
"Loki?" I bite my lip.
" is it obvious? " I look at Bucky to see him nod.
"Shit." My voice comes out a bit sharp.
"Language." Bucky mimics Steve, forcing us both to crack up.
Once we stop, Bucky hands and offers his hand to help me. I smile softly and accept it. He pulls me up and into my feet. I swiftly turn around and kneel onto the ground, his hand in mine. I toss him over my shoulder and onto his back. I end the move and look at Bucky to see him flat on his back. His face shows surprise lights his gaze.
"Didn't expect that, did you?" I smile as he shakes his head.
" thought not, grandpa. " Bucky reaches a sitting position and ignores the nickname.
"You'll do great tomorrow." I smile wider at his compliment.
"Out of curiosity, what are your powers?" My face becomes serious in a split second.
"I can't tell you." I speak softly.
"The last person, other than Xavier, who knew... He was... " my voice chokes and I feel tears prick my vision. Bucky right hand finds my left.
"He was what, Nikole?" He speaks carefully , as if knowing he's treading on a sensitive topic.
"Killed." My voice cracks and comes out in a whisper. Bucky pulls me into a hug; I hug him back, feeling the difference of strength between his human and metal arm.
"It wasn't your fault." He speaks softly and a few tears escape before I harden my emotions. After a second, I teleport to my room. I can't do this. Not yet.
I look out my small window to see the sun setting, missing it for the first time in the six months I've been here and the two before I came. Missing it doesn't even cross my mind. God. Time flies. I grab my black shorts and emerald bra PJ's before walking into my bathroom. I lock the door upon shutting it.
"FRIDAY?" I ask while preparing my bath.
"Miss. Wanez." The robotic voice fills my ears.
"Do me a favor and let anyone who comes know that I'm taking a bath." I make sure I have my tropical fruit soap, shampoo, and conditioner.
"As you wish. Anything else?" She asks again.
"Yeah, play my music, will ya?" My music starts, and I smile as You'll Be In My Heart by Phil Collins plays over the speakers. I turn the water to a mildly warm temperature and step in, ready to relax and clean up.

Chapter 5 unedited. TGaD
I step in right after him, and Loki turns my direction.
"Sorry for my brother's words..." He smiles softly and I look at him.
"It's fine. No harm was done." I smile half heartedly. No one would want to be with me. Thor's hallucinating. I could feel my heart crack at the thought. Loki places a hand on my shoulder, his eyes softening as they gaze into mine. No one cares about me.
"Nikole, are you ok?" Loki bends enough to become eye level with me. I nod.
"I'm ok." I wait silently as the elevator goes up. An emotion breakdown starting to form. The elevator finally stops and the doors open.
"Nikole. Don't lie to me." I raise an eyebrow and walk out onto the top floor. Loki follows swiftly and grabs my shoulder again. His eyes search mine.
"Please?" I look at him, the words I've been wanting to tell him flashes to the front of my mind .
"I'm ok... Or I should say, I will be." I smile softly and continue walking to the small staircase that takes a person to the roof. Loki sighs and follows me silently.
My feet lead me to Phoenix and mount her, flying off the building without saying another word or looking back at Loki. I take her into the clouds in order not to alert the public below, following Xavier's rule for once.
I take a quick glance behind me to see Loki's figure growing smaller and smaller, watching me fly off. I'm sorry... Phoenix takes me away from the tower, headed south. What is wrong with me? My thoughts start to race, driving me insane.
"Come on girl, it would be an honor to date me." My own voice carries into the blue and slightly clouded sky. No. Why would anyone want to date a monster like me?
So is he. Or that's what he says. You'd be perfect for each other. I mean, come on, you've talked to him every. single. day. since you got here.
You're pathetic. Can't even muster any courage to tell him.
He doesn't care like you do. After all, did he follow you just now? That was almost as much as I could take. I screamed into the sky, voicing my anger in one of the only ways I know how.
After a few minutes of some much needed silence, I set Phoenix down in a small park, splashing fountain water on my face.
"Get it together, Nikole. Otherwise there'll be no chance he'd want to get with you." I mutter to myself.
"Get with who?" I jerk around to see Tony standing there in his Iron Man suit.
"No one. It doesn't matter. Why'd you follow me?" My voice is firm and I stare into his brown eyes.
"You're not supposed to be alone. Who is it? Is it... Thor? " I sigh lightly, knowing where Tony wants to go.
"No. Not Thor."
"Steve?" I shake my head.
"Clint? Banner?" I keep shaking my head. Please don't say it....
"Bucky?" I shake my head again. Wow. I forgot about the Winter Soldier.
"Cute, but no." My lips curve in a small smile as I watch Tony trying to think of others. He takes a step forward and places his hand gently on my cheek. My eyes flare as I watch him.
"It's me, isn't it?" I connect my fist to his guy and shove him back, clearly playful.
"No, dumbass." Tony chuckles then becomes straight faced again.
"Wait. Are you into girls?" My eyes widen.
"Nononononono. I am not into girls." I stare quickly . Tony looks stumped for a few seconds before his eyes widen and an evil smile crawls onto his lips.
"I did miss someone though." His grin turns to a smirk. Shit. He's got the answer now. My smile fades the longer I watch Tony's grin. One word slips his lips, and I watch it almost like they moved in slow motion.
"Loki." I hesitate for a second before shaking my head.
"You liar." Tony's chuckle is hinted with evil and mischief as he closes his helmet into his face.
"Maybe I should tell him on how you feel." I glare at him then use my Creation ability to make his thrusters offline, and I made it FRIDAY couldn't fix them for the next twenty-four hours.
"You'll have to walk." I smile as he tries to take off and not being able to. After quickly mounting Phoenix, I take off towards the Tower.
"NIKOLE!" Tony's frustrated call follows me into the sky.
I chuckle and make it back swiftly. Loki's figure stands on the south end of the building. I smile softly. Aww... He waited... Phoenix lands on the Tower roof, and I dismount to be quickly met by Loki.
"Hey, are you ok?" Loki asks and I make eye contact with him.
"Yeah. Tony followed me." I chuckle as I think about Tony taking a taxi back. Loki lightly flicks my chin.
"What did you do?" I smirk.
"Malfunctioned his suit until he gets back. Then I'll fix it." Loki smiles.
"That's my girl." I blush lightly and advert my gaze. 20 seconds of courage. 20 seconds of courage. 20 seconds of courage. Just as I open my mouth to question the 'my girl,' Thor's booming voice comes from the door.
"Lady Nikole. Tony just got back. And he's fuming." My smile fades as I look from Thor to Loki.
"Shit." I ran past Thor and quickly ride down the elevator to my floor.
Once the elevator hits my floor, I Sprint to my floor to see Tony standing there, tapping his foot as he watches me enter. I smile, knowing full well I'm about to get a lecture.
"I'm not going to yell." My eyebrow raises at his stance. He looks like he's going to yell. I watch as his right hand twitches.
"You can't deactivate my thrusters. What if I had needed them before I got back? I would have had to have left them without helping." I raise hand to stop him.
" You're sounding like Steve. And don't worry, your thrusters are fine. " I smirk at Tony. He shakes his head.
"Nikole, this is serious. You can't just use whatever the fuck your powers are to do that." I frown.
"Xavier didn't tell you what I am?" Tony shakes his head again. I silently curse Xavier.
"If he didn't tell you, did he have a good reason as to why?"
"He said it was for the team's safety. Nikole, what are your powers? We can't train you without knowing." I shake my head.
"There's only one person whom could train me with what I have, and even he doesn't know what it is." I advert my gaze solemnly. There was only one other I trusted as much as I trust Loki. My gaze finds its way back to Tony's. He looks at me expectantly.
"What?" I raise an eyebrow.
"Who is it?" Tony questions.
"You're blind if you don't know." I swear to stand in front of him but I'm my room instead of the hallway. Tony chuckles and I smile a bit at his laugh.
"There, that's the smile I've been waiting for." He speaks lovingly and strokes my cheek in a fatherly way. I smile wider and look at tony fondly. Thanks, father. I box him lightly in the arm.
"Sure. Anytime." I start to think on why Tony was here in the first place. Oh shit.
"Tony?" I look into his brown eyes as he gazes into my green hazel.
"Please don't tell him." I look at him a little nervously.
"And who is him?" Tony smirks.
"You know who it is." I mutter to him.
"I believe I do not know. Who doth be thou lucky man?" Tony keeps smirking, and due to his mockery, I knew Tony knew which of the brothers it is. His eyes shinning softly.
"I trust him." I speak carefully , and Tony winks.
"It's Loki, isn't it?" I nod slowly. He ruffles my hair, and I close my right eye, smiling at the gesture.
"I won't tell him." Tony chuckles, and I mutter a simple thanks and walk from my room.

The Gold at Dusk
Chapter 4
Oh my god. I hate you Tony. The elevator opens at my floor and I quickly walk into my room, getting more and more frustrated by the minute. Loki is not mine. Stop caring so much. I throw my PJ's on quickly and lay face up on my bed. Scenario after scenario runs through my head of what could have been different if Loki had been dared to kiss me instead.
"I'll get you back Tony." I mutter and start pacing aggressively. I look out my window as I pace, each step a tad slower than the last. Oh god. What time is it? I lift my watch towards my face and read the time. 12:33. Hmm. That'll explains a lot... My pacing stops and I fall to the floor, unconscious.
*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*
He screamed.
MOTHER! PLEASE HELP!
The child looked no more than six years old. I took him. Dragged him by the arm. Who he was, no idea.
Nikole, stop.
It was my best friend from the academy. Eric.
No. I can't. I won't.
I dragged the boy and raised a fist towards Eric, shot a blast of lightning. Don't mess with a Power Creator. I looked down to the kid, stared straight into his eyes before I stabbed his heart. The life died from his eyes as I watched. Flames flicked in my vision and fire engulfs me.
*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*
I wake up shaking and sweating. Not now. Please. I sit up quickly, my back popping violently from the hard floor. Loki. I stand and look at my watch again. 1:26. Only an hour?! I Sprint from my room and punch in Thor's floor level, knowing Loki shares his floor.
I tap my foot and my eyes dart all around the elevator as I go up. My body shakes as the doors open, the level pitch black as I walk in. I create a small flame and find my way down the hallway and to Loki's room. Shaking and breathing quickly, I knock twice and call his name softly.
It couldn't have been more than ten seconds before he answered, but it seemed like years. Loki's room was lit up behind him and he was wearing black glasses.
"Nikole? Are you ok?" Loki's voice is laced lightly with concern. I shake my head.
"Can I come in, please?" I look down the hallway as some noises comes from Thor's room. He steps aside and gestures me in, shutting the door quietly. Loki grabs my shoulders; my whole body trembling under his touch.
"Do you want to talk about it?" Loki asks gently. Shaking my head, I pull him into a hug. He holds me gently as I shake from the memory.
"Do you need to stay here tonight, Nikole?" He whispers into my ear.
"I-if I can... If you don't mind..." I keep a grip around his waist and look into Loki's green eyes. He nods and picks me up bridal style, walking towards his bed. I hold his neck and bury my face into his shoulder, still shaking.
"It's okay. I'm here." Loki sets me down and pulls the blanket over me. He then turns to the chair in the corner, marks his page, takes off his glasses , and turns off the light. After a few seconds, I feel the bed shift as he climbs in next to me. I curl up against him and place a hand on his chest, jumping a bit as I feel skin instead of fabric.
"I sleep without a shirt, but I still got on pants." Loki whispers softly and strokes my hair. I smile a little and relax.
I shift and hold Loki tightly as a memory comes into my mind again.
*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*
"Eric?!" I shook his fallen form. Both of us were sweaty and bleeding.
"Eric! Wake up!" I cried out. The ground began to shake and rumble violently.
"Please?! I'm sorry! Eric!" Machine gun fire came from the space next to me. Rocks appeared and formed all around me and Eric.
He didn't wake. My head was too foggy to think properly. The rocks crumbled as quickly as they had formed. A bullet hit my back and ricocheted off me and into the gun it came from. I shake Eric again.
"Please?" My voice cracked and I played on top of his chest.
"Don't leave me alone..." I sobbed on the battlefield.
*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*
"Eric!" I tell and sit up. Loki follows quickly and holds me tightly against his chest. I shake violently, the lights begin to flicker on and off, and a storm cloud appears in the middle of the room.
"Nikole? I'm here. It's ok. It's alright. I'm here. I'm here." Loki soothes and rocks back and forth a little. I don't relax and the cloud creates thunder and lightning. The lights flickering violently.
"It's ok. Shhh... It's ok." Loki tried to help but the storm in his room rages. Pounding soon comes from Loki's door.
"Brother?! It's two o'clock in the morning! What are you doing in there?!" I keep shaking and holding Loki tightly, the thunder rumbling loudly.
"Experimenting!" Loki yells back and strokes my hair, trying to calm me.
"GO TO BED!" Thor screams back to Loki.
"I'M TRYING!" I keep shaking but relax enough to stop the storm and the lights, not wanting Loki to be in trouble.
"Good job. Now sleep!" Thor's heavy footsteps go back down the and towards his room.
"Eric..." I whisper and bury my face into Loki's chest, and he lays back down, taking me with.
"Nikole..." My head springs back up as I hear Eric's calm voice. I search the room with my eyes and don't see him.
"Eric?" I call softly, and I hear him say my name in response. I look at Loki.
"Can you hear him?" Loki shakes his head no.
"Are you okay?" I stare at him.
"Eric?" I wait for a response, and none comes. Tears prick my vision as I place my head back down on Loki's chest. I hold in the tears, my breathing picking up a little.
"Nikole? Hey, are you alright?" I hug Loki gently, and he hugs me back, carefully and slowly stroking my hair. The motion slowly knocking me out.
"No..." My voice is groggy as I keep my head placed on his chest.
"Want to talk about it?" Loki's voice is soothing to my ears and I close my eyes as they get heavy.
"No..." My breathing slows down and I feel sleep pressing down on me. Loki's hand keeps running through my hair.
"As you wish." I feel him relax under me as I slip out for the second time that night.
*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*
"Eric. Please. You don't have to worry about me. I'm an adult now." He shook his brown haired head.
"You're 15. That's not an adult." Eric's brown eyes connected to mine.
"And you're 16, and no one worries for you!" I looked at him, my anger grew.
"I worry because I care." He stated and took a step forward towards me. I watched him carefully.
"No one cares. Stop lying."聽 He took another few steps to me at my words. Eric stood only a few inches in front of my body.
"If I don't care. Then why would I do this?" He grabbed the back of my neck firmly and pressed his lips against my own. I melted under his touch and my hands wrapped around his neck and into his hair. After a few seconds of no air, Eric pulled away. I stared at him in disbelief.
"W-what?"
*-*-*-*-*-*-*
I wake up slowly and shift a little, my hand running over skin. My body snaps from the haze after you wake up. Loki's face fills my vision as I look up. His eyes closed and soft snores escaping his parted lips. I relax at the sight of him and shift closer, my left leg lifting over his pair a little. I smile softly and close my eyes. Thank you, Loki.
After what seems like a few minutes, I feel Loki shift next to me, making. My eyes open heavily. Ghh. Did I fall asleep again? I look into Loki's face to see him beginning to wake. His eyes flutter open and look down at me. Loki smiles softly, and I smile back.
"Good morning." I whisper.
"Good morning. You feeling better?" Loki strokes my hair. I curl a little next to him, not wanting to get up.
"Mhm. Much better." I close my eyes again, and Loki shifts under me.
"No, Nikole. It's late in the morning. Time to wake." I groan a little and look at him again.
"Ok. Fine." I shift and sit up. Loki sits up shortly after me, and I trace his toned torso with my eyes. I look up again and catch Loki's eye and I advert my gaze again, blushing lightly.
"Sorry." I whisper. Loki's hand places itself under my chin and turns my head to look back at him.
"It's alright." He gazes into mine as an emotion I'm not familiar with fills his gaze. I smile and Loki stands, with his back towards me, stretching. His muscles tensing and relaxing as I watch again. I smile softly at his back, that is until a loud knock comes from the door. I swear the door was about to break.
"BROTHER! LADY NIKOLE IS MISSING AGAIN!" Loki turns around and looks at me. I shake my head.
"Don't tell, Thor. Please. At least, not yet." I plead quietly. Loki nods.
"I HAVEN'T SEEN HER SINCE TRUTH OR DARE!" Loki shouts. I let out a sharp breath of relief.
"BROTHER? ARE YOU LYING?" Thor hits the door again.
"NO! I AM NOT LYING!" Loki responds. I stand and hug him quickly.
"Thank you." I whisper before closing my eyes and opening them again, appearing in my room. A soft knock comes from my door and I quickly slide into my bed, making it look like I just woke.
"Yeah?" I scratch my voice slightly. A breath of relief comes from the other side.
"Nikole, may I come in?" The person sounds a lot like Banner.
"If you want." I sit up as the door opens and Bruce enters. He walks and sits on the edge of my bed, his thumbs dancing together.
"Have you been here all night?" He asks, face serious.
"For the most part. Truth or Dare ended around 12:30 ish." I shrug slightly.
"Okay. We were looking for you this morning. As you didn't answer Tony." I chuckle softly, thinking of Stark panicking.
"Sorry. I was sleeping." I respond with the lie.
"He asked FRIDAY." Bruce looks at me sternly. I hang my head a little.
"I-I had a nightmare and went to someone for comfort." I whisper to him.
"Please don't tell anyone!" My voice raises with a touch of panic. Bruce shakes his head and touches my shoulder.
"I won't. I promise." Bruce's voice is gentle, he stands and walks from the room. I sigh lightly as my door shuts once more.
After doing my short morning routine, of the restroom and getting dressed, another knock comes from my door. This one is light and short.
"Yes?" I call as I start to wash my face with soap and water. Without responding, Tony opens my door and walks into my room. I roll my eyes.
"Glad I'm dressed." I mutter and dry my face, walking into my room.
"You ok, kid?" I mentally sigh and throw the towel on the bed.
"Yes, I'm fine." My eyes roll again.
"You sure?" Tony is obviously pressing me into saying what happened after Truth or Dare.
"Yes. I'm fine." I wave for him to leave and walk out without seeing if he'll follow. My feet carry me towards the elevator, and I go back to Loki's and Thor's floor.
After a few seconds of waiting in the elevator, the doors open and I step out. I walk slowly to the back of the floor, where Loki's room is. Before I get there, Thor's thunderous voice comes down the hall.
"Are you sure you haven't seen her today? You guys have been spending more and more time together." I smile softly and get to the doorway. Loki is still just in his leather pants. My cheeks heat up as I notice Thor standing in the room with nothing but boxers and long socks bunched up at his ankles. I knock the frame lightly. Loki looks over Thor's shoulder and makes eye contact with me.
"Ah! Nikole!" Loki smiles and pushes past Thor to grip my shoulders. I smile and try not to reach and touch him. Loki pulls me into a hug, and I take my chance to feel the back muscles, hugging him in return. Thor clears his throat, and I push back against Loki, breaking the hug.
"See. She's fine, Thor. Fussing over nothing again." Loki smiles at his brother. I look at Thor and wish that he's put on, at least, some pants.
"I see that." Thor turns to me, his muscles rippling.
"Have you seen Loki at all today?" He asks. I look at Loki to refrain from staring at Thor.
"No. Not since Truth or Dare." I watch as Loki clench and unclench his jaw, clearly hearing the lie. Thor shifts again and opens his mouth to say something when I put up a finger to stop him.
"At least put some pants first." My gaze flickers over Thor as he shrugs.
"It's normal for people to see me like this in the mornings." I face-palm before looking into his blue eyes.
"So... You're not going to out on pants?" God. I feel overdressed right now. I catch the exact moment as Thor and Loki share a glance. Thor shakes his head.
"Wasn't planning on it." Thor looks at me, and I mentally sigh.
"So if I came in here wearing nothing but shorts and a bra, you'll see it as 'normal?'" I air quote and Loki's gaze snaps towards me, looking me over. I blush lightly and bite my lip, looking back at Thor.
"Of course." He states, his voice booming everywhere along this floor. My eyes widen a bit to his response, and I advert my gaze from both Thor and Loki.
"Can you please put on pants?" I ask softly.
"If you deem it." Thor's voice booms and I nod. He walks from the room to dress, my gaze still averted. My neck tingles as I feel Loki's gaze on me.
"Sorry for my brother's stupidity." Loki chuckles and I look up at him to see fondness lighting his gaze. I smile softly.
"Don't be. It's kinda funny." I chuckle before I see Loki staring thoughtfully at me.
"What?" Loki shakes his head as though clearing it.
"Would you actually wall around in shorts and a bra?" I bite my lip and shuffle my feet.
"I don't like leaving my room like that, but it is my sleepwear." I run a hand through my hair and glance to the doorway. How long does it take to put on pants?
"Why weren't you like that last night?" My head snaps around and I catch Loki's eye.
"I-I... Um... I just crashed I guess." Loki's question catching me off guard.
"Mmh." Loki takes a few steps towards me and gently places a hand on my cheek. I tense a bit at the touch before relaxing and leaning against it. He wont. He's not going to. It's not in his nature. My thoughts race, and Loki pulls me into a hug. His hand runs through my hair and I lean against his chest.聽 Told you he wouldn't. I sigh lightly, my warm air hitting Loki's bare chest. Thor enters the room and pats Loki's back, the sound of skin hitting skin echoes the silent room. I pull back and step away from the pale man. Thor is wearing grey pants and grinning from ear to ear at the sight of us.
"What?" I glare lightly at him.
"You two are cute together." He smiles at us, and I notice Loki gets a touch of red in his face. No. That's cute.
"Stop." I whisper, not really wanting Thor to.
"But you are. Really. I'm surprised you're not together already." Thor glances at Loki, and Loki leaves the room, brushing my arm lightly as he passes. Loki! Thor chuckles and I look at him.
"What?" I keep my voice level.
"You called after him. It was cute." My eyes widen and I walk from the room, following Loki to the elevator.

The Gold at Dusk
Chapter 3 unedited
I hear the shuffling of feet and the sliding of chairs before the doors to the elevator shuts. I grin at my quick alone time and play a bit with conjured fire. A soft gust of air comes from beside me and I jump. Loki chuckles and looks down at me. I mockingly place a hand on my forehead.
"Oh, loki. God, don't do that. I could've had a heart attack." I smirk at him after my small performance. He smiles.
"Well then, if you would have had a heart attack, I would have been here to save you." My eyes widen and I look at him, just as the elevator opens to one of the many main floors. I walk out, blushing furiously and turning his words over in my head. The sounds of technological mechanisms whirring brings me back as Tony lands in the room from an open window, wearing the thrusters on his Iron Man suit. I look at Tony then back at Loki. He didn't mean it like that. He's just... He did... He... I sigh softly and sit on a couch, waiting for Thor, Peter, Steve, Natasha, Clint, Emily, and Cierra to arrive. Loki comes and sits next to my right side and Tony on my left. I blush lightly, forgetting just how tall the two men are.
"So what game did you have in mind, Nikole?" I jump a little and state the first game that came into my head.
"Uhh, Truth or Dare." Tony smirks and I instantly regret my decision. The elevator opens and everyone else is crammed in. I start laughing at the sight of them. I stop just in time to see them all struggle to get out, making me laugh more.
"I understand why you flew up here." I laugh to Tony. He chuckles in response.
"I guess you can say that." I open my mouth to question what he means when Steve breaks in, everyone sitting around.
"What are we going to play?" I groan softly and Tony tells him as I look around the room. Thor sat next to Loki, Peter and Emily sat on the loveseat, Peter's arms around her. Clint and Natasha sat on the cushioned stools across from us and Cierra on the floor next to them. Steve looks around the room as well and eventually sits next to Cierra. I catch her eye and wink at her. Told you. You guys are cute together. Cierra raises her middle finger at me. I chuckle.
Tony stands up.
"The game we will be playing, one of your favorites, is Truth or Dare. Anyone can start. And if you can't do a dare." He grins devilishly.
"Let's just say you want to do the dare." Cierra laughs then speaks up, starting the game.
"Nikole, you're up."
" oh god. " I shake my head and look at Cierra.
"Truth or Dare?" I groan a little and look around the room. I'm going to regret everything...
"Dare..." I mutter and catch Loki's eye. Tony smirks, evil lining it. Shit.
"Your dare is..." She points to Thor. "Kiss him. And not just a peck on the cheek." I look at Cierra, horrified. Steve looks at me and gives me a reassuring smile. I stand slowly and look over at Thor, he raises an eyebrow and waits. My feet shuffle across the floor to him, my hands shaking a little. I hate you Cierra. I'm going to get you back. My eyes look into Thor's as I lean down and gently press my lips on his.
"Come on Nikky. Harder. I said special." I mentally groan and grab Thor's long hair, pulling him in harder and moving my lips against his. He grabs my lower back and pulls me towards him. Thor chuckles softly into my mouth and I pull back, panting lightly. I glare at Cierra.
"That good enough?" I grit my teeth and sit down before she responds. I lean subconsciously against Loki, looking for the support he gives to me.
"Beautiful. Capsicle!" Steve's head snaps towards me. "Truth or Dare?"
" Truth. " I smirk.
"What do you think of Cierra?" Steve's face pales and he shakes his head softly.
" I, uh... I just... She's... I think a lot about her. Funny, smart, something I haven't seen since, uh, a while. " Steve rubs the back of his neck and glances at Cierra. I smile at Cierra. He smiles awkwardly at her and drapes an arm on Cierra's shoulder. And another couple might come together. I sigh softly, but loud enough for Tony and Loki to hear. They both look at me and I shift, trying to make myself smaller.
"Sorry." I mutter. Tony opens his mouth when Cierra shouts.
"OH! I GOT ANOTHER ONE! Loki, Truth or Dare. " Cierra calls, ignoring my apology. Loki waves a hand.
"I will not partake in this silly mortal game." I look up at him and beg with my eyes.
"Fine." he whispers in my ear. "If you want me to."
"Truth or Dare?" Cierra asks again.
"Dare." Loki speaks confidently.
"I was hoping you would say that. You're mother died while you were in jail. Your dare is to tell us exactly what was going through your head." Thor, Loki, and I am tense at Cierra's words.
"Don't you think that's a bit much, Cierra?" I whisper.
" It's ok. I-i choose the dare. " Loki shakes his head a little and stands up.
"I was in the cell, after what happened here, and a few prisoners had escaped. It was a revolt. I was the only one still in the cell." Loki features a bit with his hands, looking at each person in turn.
"I told him to go left. That's all. Just to the stairs on the left. I sat again and started going through my books, looking for one thing. Mother's note." Loki pulls a piece of paper out of his shirt pocket and smiles sadly at it.
"I found it and started to read it, when her voice came to my ears. I looked up to see her, I have her illusion a hug. A soft moan escaped her lips, and for a second." Loki holds up a one.
"Her form became solid. I grabbed her hair and her clothes, but she disappeared. I yelled for a guard to let me out, to let me help her. But I knew it was too late. She was up there somewhere, dying. They didn't let me out. I-I mean, they couldn't. I waited for the news I knew would come. All the anger and the sadness hit me like the bifrost. And this letter," Loki raises the paper again.
" is all I have left. " Loki's voice cracks and he sits down again, shaking softly. I lean against him again and Thor puts his arm around Loki. Steve has tears touching his eyes and so does Peter.
"Mr. Loki. That's the saddest thing I've ever heard." Peter breaks the silence and the shock. I look up at Loki to see him starting to break. I tap Loki's thigh to get his attention.
"Hey, do you need to go to the kitchen?" I whisper loud enough for only Loki to hear. He moves his hand over mine and leans down.
" Or to the roof? " he asks gently. I nod and stand up, looking around the room at everyone's stunned faces. Loki stands shortly after me, and I keep a grip on his hand, trying to comfort him, and walk to the elevator.
We both step into the small room and I punch in the code for the highest floor. I look up at Loki before wrapping my arms around him in a hug. He holds me tightly and whispers into my hair.
"Thank you, my friend." I smile softly, glad he still considers us as friends. I'll be friends with you forever as long as that means I get to see you.
We stay like that until the doors open, and I gently pull him to the small staircase that leads to the roof. Loki takes in a deep breath once he gets to the top and we see the sun close to setting. I let go of his hand and take a few steps forward, a gasp escapes me.
"Oh my god. I almost missed the sunset." I turn on my heels as soon as I say that, remembering why we were up there in the first place.
"Hey, you ok?" I walk back to Loki and grab his hand again. He shakes his head and pulls me back to the spot we sat at the night before. I lean against him and place my head on his shoulder. Loki releases a deep breath before looking at me.
"I didn't want her to die." I look at him and nod.
"I know. You speak of her fondly. I'd be surprised if you did." I stroke his hand and look at him reassuringly. Loki smiles and pulls me into a side hug. I hug him back, lightly swinging my feet. I chuckle softly, causing him to look at me.
"I bet they're still playing Truth or Dare." Loki chuckles lowly and I lean against his shoulder. Don't let this moment end. I close my eyes and sigh lightly. Loki rests his head on mine, looking towards the sunset. I smile and open my eyes again, looking out as well.
"Hey, Loki?" I whisper softly, trying not to break the moment.
"Yes, Nikole?" He whispers and looks down at me. I look at him, his green eyes entrancing me for a second.
"You want to go fly around the city for a bit?" I think shortly after asking. Maybe even on one Banshee thing. Loki looks at me again.
"Sure. And we can take one." I look at him shocked.
"D-did I say that out loud?" He nods and smiles a little before standing to help me up. I smile at him and take his hand, standing. We both look into the other's eye, getting lost. It seems like years before one of us blinks. Loki adverts his gaze, my hand still in his.
"S-sorry." I speak and get color inside my cheeks. Loki pulls his hand back and goes to the northern side of the building, where Phoenix and Skyfire are resting. I follow him and pet Phoenix's nose before looking at Loki.
"Phoenix or Skyfire?" I ask gently. He smiles at me and stroke Skyfire's nose as well. After a few seconds Loki walks over to me and puts his hand on Phoenix's lower jaw.
"Phoenix will do fine." I smile and rouse her, getting her up so we can fly. Loki helps me mount up, himself following shortly after. His arms snake around my waist, making me tense a little, and grabs the reigns. His breath hitting the back of my head.
"Slide back." He commands and I shift backwards. My legs and his fitting together perfectly; I gently lean back, my whole back against his front. His breath now next to my ear. I blush heavily, and Loki gets Phoenix off the building, going down the West side again. Where the gang could see us. Loki pulls up and we level off, headed towards the sunset. I sigh lightly at the colors. Red-oranges surrounding the horizon and sun. Swiftly changing to yellow and green. A touch of blue that changes to indigo.
No clouds in sight. Loki leads Phoenix to the edge of the city before turning around, back to Stark Tower. The sun had set shortly before we reached the edge of the city.
"Do you think they are wondering where we are at?" I ask Loki and lean fully against him, relaxing all the way.
"Maybe my brother." I feel him take in a deep breath and release it. Loki's heart close to racing.
"You alright?" I turn to look at him.
"I'm fine." He smiles a little at me and I turn back around, still leaning against him. The lights of the Tower arrived quickly and Loki has Phoenix circle a few times before landing. Loki stays on her, taking in another deep breath through his nose; both of us staying perfectly next together. I close my eyes and sigh lightly. Loki shifts suddenly, forcing me to take my weight again, and dismounts Phoenix. He holds his hand out to help me and I slide off and into his arms. God. He's so freaking hot. He lets me go and steps back.
"We should probably get back." He states, and we both silently walk back, about of foot between us. I sigh lightly and we get into the elevator, Loki punching in the code for the floor everyone is at. I shouldn't have pushed it...
The elevator doors open and everyone sees us walk in. Tony waves is back over. Cierra socks her head at me and I go sit on the floor next to her, Loki going back next to Thor.
"What happened?" Cierra whispers in my ear.
"Went flying again. Not as far. But we had a wonderful conversation." I whisper back, smile, and think of how we sat, full well knowing Cierra will go into my mind and see. She smiles and boxes my arm a little.
"Told you he likes you." She whispers again. I nod a little and look over at Peter. His dare had just been announced, and I missed what it was. Peter glances over at me before looking at Emily. He shrugs and walks to Steve and sits on his lap.
"Please, fatha. Can you read me a bedtime story. The one about the girl running away from the ball." He mocks a young kid and looks at Steve with puppy eyes. I roll my own and catch Loki doing the same before leaning to speak with Thor, a soft smile crawling on his lips.
"Nikole. I believe it's your turn again." Tony looks at me, and I start at him.
"Dare, please." I whisper and Tony grins.
"Good. This is a pair dare. You and Cierra. Have a date with Thor's hammer. Pick it up." He smiles and Thor places his hammer on the floor in front of us. I gesture for Cierra to go first. She smiles softly and walks to it. Everyone has their eyes glued on her, especially Thor. Cierra grips the handle and starts to pull up. It shifts and lifts off the floor a bit. I dare a look at Thor to see his eyes wide and leaning forward. I grin and Cierra let's it go, shrugging softly.
"Nikole. You're up." I notice Loki shifts and leans forward as well. Don't get distracted. I place my hands around the handle, feeling the leather under my hands. I smile softly at it, then it becomes focused as I begin to pull up. I feel it shift and pull harder. It shifts again and lifts higher, the weight becoming less. My eyes widen a little and I use my full strength against it, pulling it halfway from the floor. I drop it and stand up, whipping my forehead a little. Cierra walks up to me and whispers in my ear.
"Try again." So I place my hands back around the handle and she places here on mine. We both pull and it lifts an inch or so from the ground. Oh my god. We lift it higher, not using full strength. Or we were until Cierra's hand slips a little and pinches mine against the leather and I yelp lightly, releasing it. The hammer falls to the ground with a loud thud. Cierra and I look at each other and shrug, sitting down again. Steve is staring at Cierra, surprise lighting his gaze. Peter and Emily both stare at the hammer. Tony's looking at me. I search the room a little for Natasha and Clint. Wait. Where'd they go?
"Natasha got mad at Tony And stormed out. And Clint has a thing to do. If I what it is." Cierra whispers.
And finally my gaze falls on Loki. His eyes and mine meet. Calculating. That's what it is. He's calculating us. I raise my eyebrow a little and mouth, 'are you ok?' I watch his gaze flicker to my lips, causing me to lightly bite them at the end of the sentence. Loki slowly lifts his gaze back to my eyes and nods. I smile softly at him, not noticing everyone's gaze shifting to the two of us. 'are you sure you're ok, Loki?' I mouth again and he nods once more. 'I'm proud of you.' He mouths back. I smile again and watch his lips move, biting my own. I start to picture what it'd be like to kiss him, forcing me to stare. Blushing softly, I pull out of it and look back into his eyes. I bite my lip harder, and Cierra nudges my shoulder. I shake my head and look at her, before slowly looking around the room. Tony, Emily, and Cierra is looking at me. Peter, Steve, and Thor is looking at Loki. I start blushing and look at the floor. Cierra nudges me and smiles once I look up.
"Loki, Truth or Dare?" Tony asks, still looking at me.
"Dare." Loki looks up at Tony .
"Kiss Cierra." Tony smirks at Loki and I feel my blood start to boil. What the hell?! He's not mine to claim. Loki stands slowly and walks across the floor. He states at Cierra the whole way, except once he gets to us, Loki's gaze flickers to me then back to Cierra. I take in a small, sharp breath as Loki leans down and gently presses his lips onto Cierra's. My blood only rising more. Loki pulls away quickly and takes a small step backwards when Tony interrupts Loki's escape.
"Loki, I said kiss her. That wasn't it." Tony grins. Someone get him alcohol. It'll at least shut him up. I watch as Loki leans down again and press his lips onto Cierra's again. She kisses him back, clearly just trying to annoy me. I start to see a little red and I stand quickly, causing them to pull away. Stepping on Tony's foot as I pass, I walk swiftly from the room and to the elevator, punching in my floor's code quickly, and I don't look back.
