One thing I've always appreciated about Terry Pratchett's writing is the way he handles sex. Of course he's not going to ignore it, sexuality and our cultural perceptions of it are integral part of the human experience. Of course he's going to bring it up in his books, of course it's going to be relevant to the characters.

What impresses me is he somehow manages to be frank and unembarrassed about sex while also never crossing the line into being explicit.
