I’ve been struggling with the concept of ppl not liking me. And idk if that makes me seem egotistical or something but I’m the type of person that barely talks in public settings (unless they’re my friends) so I would have this idea in my head that “since I don’t do much, ppl have a neutral idea of me/they have nothing to dislike” so having the knowledge of ppl not liking me is impactful bc it hasn’t happened before so idk what to do.

I started this job in the entertainment industry thanks to a friend and I was very happy in the beginning w the ppl I was meeting and stuff. But then I got news from said friend that I subconsciously said stuff that didn’t need to be said (ie I answered someone’s question when I wasn’t asked). And this made me upset bc I’m just trying to get out of my comfort zone and talk w ppl and stuff and it backfired.

I see ppl be nice to one another and then talk shit behind their back n I just had the realization that they could (def are) be doing that to me too. And I’ve been struggling with the idea of ‘a good person cannot be a bad person’ n viceversa (plz don’t think like a murder. It’s more like a nice person vs a bitch or something like that). So recently I’ve discovered that between white and black, there’s gray, and I don’t fucking understand gray and it’s driving me insane. Bc how can someone treat me nice and also dislike/hate me? (I don’t like when ppl lie so I see this as a lie and a betrayal to my trust) I really don’t know if I’d rather them do that or treat me like shit or ignore me…. Honestly, none of the above.

Ppl seem so fake to me when they do that and my trust issues just go through the roof. I cannot differentiate when you’re ‘just being nice’ cuz that’s the acceptable thing to do or you’re actually being genuine with your interaction.

So I’m just here, spiraling. Trying to understand mf gray and being able to come to terms w it. But I just don’t know how to do that or if I’m able to do it.
