Scientists have done a lot of research and development on ozonated oils.So,ozonated oil has been recognized as one of the best bactericidal, antiviral, and antifungal disinfectants, and has been used empirically as a clinical therapeutic disinfectant.The mechanisms behind this activity are based on the greater oxidizing properties of ozonated oil, which induce the destruction of bacterial cell walls and the cytoplasmic membrane. The result is an increase in permeability and the entry of ozone into bacterial cells.
Ozonated oil has also proven to have antimicrobial activity in infections of burnt skin, against Gram-positive bacteria, such as Staphylococcus aureus, Gram-negative bacteria, and various species of fungi, including Candida spp. Ozonated oils are used in the treatment of inflammatory and mycotic skin diseases,diabetic foot.Also, ozonated oil is widely used in the medical field and medical cosmetology.
