also it's extremely important for people to have that self discovery imo. if someone jsut breaks your egg for you, you don't get any of that journey of finding out your actual self and learning more about yourself so it's really an asshole move to take away the self discovery from someone. it's like how with baby chicks you're not really supposed to help them hatch (there are exceptions of course) because it can be stressful and cause more harm than good

someone did this to us once. immediate block they ''guessed right'' but like. hey stranger you know it isn't always safe for someone to be openly trans right hey stranger you know there's a chance that person might already know who/what they are and just hasn't come out yet right (not that it'd be okay if the person DIDN'T know but this is also something people seem to conveniently ignore for the sake of "hehe egg joke funny" and it's sooo stressful for no good reason.)

I’ve decided to do some illustrations based off of this post, and first up is enderfolk!

Note: I unthinkingly sign things as my main account all the time so don’t mind that lol it is actually my art

Endlets are born completely helpless - blind, nearly deaf, unable to walk (even on all fours), and unable to thermoregulate. Upon hatching their fur is pale yellow & spotted, and their eyes are a dull lavender.

Once their eyes open, endlets’ fur becomes downy & fluffy. At this point they are much softer than adults are. Once endlings are fully mobile their coat starts to darken and they begin developing stripes.

Endlets hatch with fully-formed pearls, which are too big to fit in their chests. The pearl is partially exposed and vulnerable, but as they get older scales will grow over the pearl, encasing it by the time their coats turn black & they start to become independent.

Endlets grasp onto adults’ tails to avoid getting lost or straying from the protection of their guardians.

Enderfolk typically only lay one or two eggs at a time. However, once their endlets are old enough to leave the burrow, enderfolk will often rear their young communally. Often one adult will end up with a long train of unrelated endlets trailing after them.
