So my wife commissioned this painting for me for Christmas from her sister.. it's a scene called Leo's Wonderland, from one of my stories, and it now hangs next to my Les Paul! https://www.instagram.com/p/CJuwurhF53p/?igshid=4hztfl033ny1

So as part of this music career program I'm doing, one assignment is to literally cut the word "luck" out of a dictionary and flush it down the toilet. So, here goes! No more luck, only hard work from here on out! https://www.instagram.com/p/CJhrpo_lza5/?igshid=19r7u4uuz8hn7

Ppl telling me to turn my stuff down when though I can barely hear it ☹
Auditory Processing Problems
• *someone says something* “what?” *repeats themselves* “sorry?” *repeats themselves again* “pardon?”
•"hey, y'see the red thing at the top of the shelf, will you get it?“ “Sorry, what?” “On the sh-” “oh yeah sure, I’ll get it.”
•*doesn’t hear teacher because someone’s pen is making a scratchy sound at the back of the room*
•*replays video 10 ten times to figure out what they’re saying*
•teachers asking, “why do you always stop writing in the middle of a sentence, just write down whatever I’m saying,” followed by the response, “I’m just processing it,” rebuked by, “we’ll stop processing it and just write.”
•*gets really focused on staring out the window and goes through four songs without hearing a single on*

Intonation is kind of funny. As a violinist, playing out of tune definitely falls under the accident category, BUT applying variation to one's intonation (i.e. vibrato) is a huge part of proper expression. So in that context, playing every note perfectly on pitch every single time would indeed be considered a lack of emotion, and would likely sound robotic.
STAHP with the worrying about wrong notes

Lately I noticed that when I ask my students to tell me how they played, the first thing they notice is “wrong notes.” They tell me about each incorrect note, and sometimes they notice rhythmic mistakes too. Then I ask how the musical quality sounded… typically they can’t remember a single thing about their phrasing and dynamics.
Ferdinand Ries on working with Beethoven:
If I missed something in a passage, or played wrongly the notes and leaps he often wanted me to bring out strongly, he rarely said anything;
but when I fell short as regards expression, crescendos, etc., or the character of the piece, he got exasperated because, as he said,
the first was an accident, but the other was a lack of judgement, feeling or attentiveness. The former happened to him quite often too, even when he played in public.
Wrong notes are accidents.
Poor musical expression is a lack of judgment, feeling, or attention.
Focusing primarily on accurate pitches and rhythms will never improve your musicality, but focusing primarily on phrasing and musical story-telling will absolutely improve your pitches and rhythms. But don’t trust me, take Ludwig’s word for it..
