Last post of 2021. A repost of an oldie. As I end this year I look back and realize I didn't make as much art as I would have liked. I feel like a failure on that front, but I have to remember I spent a lot of time writing and planning and trying to figure out my path going forward to reach my end goal of an illustrated novel, so despite not having much to show for it, I did work on a lot of things. This was an initial design idea for a monster/creature in my Unlucky13 project. As the project has evolved, I don't think she really has a place in it anymore, but I will probably reuse parts of the design in other creature concepts. Speaking of my story in my last post... this is actually an illustration that is from my Unlucky13 project. For those of you who may not know much about my story...it was originally inspired by reading a bunch of fairytale retellings and deciding it would be a fun character design project to redesign some classic fairytale characters. And because I can never leave well enough alone I decided not to stop at just character designs and to make my own universe....because...of course I did. Close up of Terra. I again apologize for all the reposts as of late! Between writing, creating art, working, and social media I get stretched pretty thin. I am really working hard to move my art in a bit of a new direction next year to be much more focused on my story, so I'm trying to build the habit of being much more actively engaged on social media since, as an incredibly introverted person, I struggle with the social part of sharing my art and story...but if I never share...then what's the point? I hope you understand and I just want to say I really appreciate every like, follow, and comment. Terra. I remember this being a piece that I really didn't like for a while but I kept working on it anyways. I feel like there truly is an ugly phase for every art piece and sometimes it is really hard to push through it, but I can say I'm glad I did.
