Working on Myself
21 posts
Hello everybody, my name is Martina and I am Italian but I currently live in the United States. I am struggling with how I look, I think it keeps me from being happy and feel good. I do have some personal issues bigger than my weight, that is why I hope that by blogging about my feelings, I can have a good weight loss journey.

I need help.
I can't get myself to start. I feel the click switching on and off everyday. I am not too strong minded, it is annoying me.
Oof.

Mamma Mia!! HERE WE GO AGAIN
If you think you struggle a lot, hey we are in this together. Just by looking at my posts you can notice how in a really short period I kept failing.
Today I wad not doing well mentally, I was feeling down the whole day and I needed some encouragement and motivation, but that definitely did not happen. Obviously I am mot saying that I want my friends to lie to me, or sugarcoat stuff, I am just saying that with the fact that I wasn't already in a good place, I legitimately cracked.
I was sitting next to my friend and I was looking at people's snaps because we had an event and they took videos of me. I let the words "gosh I am so ugly" come out of my mouth and my boy friend said in a really soft voice "you're words".
I asked him what he said and he didn't want to repeat it, so I told him I knew what he said. He proceeded to say "you'll find someone one day". That pissed me off so much. What the heck? First of all, when did I mention that I want to find someone or that my fat is preventing me from that? Second of all, I don't need to look in any way in order to have someone. Third of all, did he mean that looks are the only thing that matter?
I hate people's pity. I don't need it. I am so tired of listening for others. I think that something literally clicked. I am done. Done of this people, these friends that assume things. And maybe I am just being dramatic, but it doesn't matter, something clicked anyways.
I am ready. Ready for real. I am going to conquer it. I will lose weight. Nobody is going to stop me, not even my own mind.

Ok, I failed but I am back.
So, I stopped doing the 30 days challenge because I found so many excuses.
Today, yes the day before Thanksgiving, I am restarting. Wish me luck, because I really want to make it this time, I am done!

I need help, I'm like 30kg above my weight. I just turned 18 and I'm scared as hell to be like this for the rest of my life or even get worse. My mom weights 20kg more than me (110) and her health is worse everyday. I just don't know what to do anymore, I have no motivation. I know this is a generic question but please, if you have any advice, I need it.
Think of it this way: you’re scared for your mom’s health and your own, so why not take control NOW and take things into your own hands? You may not be able to convince your mom to do this with you (right away) and get healthy, but you can be a role model for her.
The best way to start out a health journey is to start building healthy habits, one habit at a time. Have a soda addiction? Start cutting out soda. That’s all you need to start with. Often times people don’t stick with their healthy lifestyle because they try to do too much all at once (I’m guilty of it too!). Research has found that it takes around 21 days to build a new habit or break an old one. So give yourself 21 days to stick with just ONE new healthy habit. Then start with the next one. This isn’t a race to lose as much weight as quickly as possible - it’s a marathon to ensure you keep the weight off and create a healthy lifestyle for yourself.
Here are some ideas for that first initial habit you can introduce over the next 21 days:
- Stop drinking soda (replace with sparkling water like La Croix or plain sparkling water with frozen fruit added when you have a soda craving)
- Start working out 2-3 days a week (If you’re trying to build a habit of working out 5-6 days a week, start with just 2-3 days a week for the first 21 days. If you can stick to that for 3 weeks, then add in an additional day for 3 weeks, then another day for 3 weeks, and then you’ll be working out nearly every day)
- Be mindful of your portion sizes (Something simple to start doing - measuring out your food. If a serving size is a cup, measure your food out in a cup. You don’t necessarily have to track your intake, just start my measuring it out)
- Track your food intake for 21 days to get a good idea of where you’re at (I use myfitnesspal and track my food - don’t worry so much about the calorie level MFP sets for you, just use it as a food journal to see where your nutrition is coming from each and every day)

I am grateful. Always. And like a gift that never ends, beauty keeps blossoming into my life. The more grateful I am, the more gifts I am blessed with. And the more gifts I am blessed with, the more grateful I become. It becomes a cycle in which gratitude begins to respirate from within.

Proud of myself for an accomplishment, but still need to work on something else!!
Tonight I had dinner with my friend, I went to a musical and then I hanged out at my dorm. I watched The Haunting of Hill House and then at 1:30 am I decided it was time to go to bed. I went under the covers and went on YouTube. I decided I would watch a weightloss video inspiration and so I did.
As I was watching it I realized I didn't do my day 2 of the 30 days challenge yet. Immediately my mind went to "Oh well, tomorrow morning I'll do day 2 and at night I'll do day 3". I had an internal debate to realize if that was right or wrong and I "settled" for right.
At a certain point, after the video ended, I just felt guilty. I stood up from bed and I just did day 2 at 2 am. I felt great and I am feeling great! It seems like I am headed in the right mindset, where I feel bad if I treat myself badly.
The part that I still need to improve is going to bed early. I usually work until 12 am, so I always come back late Monday through Wednesday. I just need to get used to it, come home, brush my teeth, put my pijama and sleep, instead of doing irrelevant other things. The other days I should just go to bed early.
I guess I cannot change everything right away. It will be a process, step by step, slowly.
I feel great and hopeful.

When you breathe, breathe deeply. Allow for the purest of lights to enter your body and fill every nook and cranny. Allow for it to seep so deeply into your core that you begin to resonate with it. It warms you, on the inside. It supports you. This light, being so radiant, sits within your very being, healing and cleansing all within its path. And truly, just be. Exist. Treasure the beauty of the light that now sits so deeply within you. It’s here.

A little is better than nothing
I haven't been posting, I am not used to, I admit it.
I finished work and as I arrived in my dorms, I felt the need to change, something really hit me. I decided to start out small and I found four different 30 days challenges. I started and I felt great afterwards.
I was about to quit because I am so out of shape and I was uncomfortable. I am glad I pushed through it!
-29, am I right?
Have a lovely night ❤️
