My current read is The Black Dahlia by James Ellroy is a fictional book that is centered around the Black Dahlia. For some reason this case has always intrigued me. I’m excited to see how this book puts a spin on the story.

Elizabeth Short.

Elizabeth Short became famously known as the brutally murdered, Black Dahlia. She moved to Los Angele’s from Massachusetts, with dreams of becoming a movie star. On the morning of January 15th 1947, she was found dead in Leiment Park, LA. She had been cut in half and all the blood had been drained from her body, and slashed from ear to ear leaving her with a permenant smile. 50 different men and women confessed to the murder and they were all investigated and cleared. She was cut so precisely that people believed the killer must have been medicallly trained. The LAPD didn’t even come close to solving the crime and it is still unsolved today. What’s even more chilling is that after the coroner had examined the body they found enough evidence to suggest she was alive when she was cut in half.

My book clubs read of the month. This month we decided to do a book that has been made into a movie. We shall see how it is. 😍
