Do you think Johanna stayed in touch with Katniss after Mockingjay since they had become friends/roommates? And do you think Johanna eventually became close with Annie since they both lost Finnick and she would want to have a part in their child’s life?

I tend to not think about Annie as a widow, since I fundamentally disagree with and also deny Finnick’s death. It’s one of those things that I’ve just chosen to ignore. Like canonically he died, and I know that. But even the first time I read mockingjay I just went “nah.” And carried on.

But. I will consider that he died in exchange for Johanna and Annie raising the baby together as a couple. Do I think that’s what Suzanne wanted? No, but fuck her, she killed Finnick. (Joking, mostly.)

My favorite headcanon for Johanna post war however, and I’m mad that I didn’t include this in Five Ways to Eat Stale Bread, I just hadn’t thought of it yet, is that Johanna and Delly get together. Maybe they move to Seven, maybe they stay in Twelve or Thirteen, I don’t know, I haven’t gotten that far, but I do know they’d need trees and mountains.

Anyway. Yes they’re all still friends. I think Johanna and Katniss have just the most fun sisterly friendship and I think in a way Katniss needs that, even though Johanna treats her like a younger sister. And I think Johanna deserves to be happy with a wife, maybe having kids of her own, maybe just being the fun gay aunt. Thank you for coming to my ted talk

Honestly, as a German I can not quite understand the obsession of the English speaking world with the question whether a word exists or not. If you have to express something for which there is no word, you have to make a new one, preferably by combining well-known words, and in the very same moment it starts to exist. Agree?
