it’s only after months of being with me nonstop that he actually starts to care for me, starts to feel something for me. the feeling is new, raw; and honestly a little scary. kenjaku admits to himself he never intended to, never needed to, his ”intellectual curiosity” enough to satiate basic needs.

before he knows it, he seeks out my intimacy. my company. his curiosity takes a backseat, he decides to spend all of his time and attention to me. kenjaku dotes on me, takes care of me, and most importantly, says ”i love you” a whole lot.

hello!! it’s totally ok to ask this btw, i kinda get it since the ship is so massively popular…

and to be blunt, i really hate it. i see absolutely no romantic attraction from either of them. all i get is best friend / familial vibes. Gege Akutami (author of the manga) has also debunked it in an interview, which made me dislike it even more. i tend to only gravitate towards ”canon” ships, where the couple is explicitly together. it being so popular and ”shoved” down everybody’s throats while being treated as ”canon” by basically the whole fandom makes me sick. another reason for my dislike is because I’ve never been big on shipping characters together, i’ve always preferred self shipping.

and that’s basically the gist of it. i also wanna add that i would never be hostile or harass anyone for shipping them, i simply wish not to interact!!

definitely don't imagine your f/o reading aloud to you. don't imagine being tucked into their side, their arm draped around your shoulder, fingers tracing patterns on the crown of your head. also, don't imagine having your head laid on their chest, listening to their heartbeat and the soft thrum of their voice as they read the words from the page. don't imagine how the soft glow of light from the floor lamp that hangs above you casts golden contours over their profile. don't imagine how warm they are or how good they smell. definitely do not do that.
