Came across your page, and wanted to say how much I loved this book as a kid. My muse is unfortunately from a different era (18th c), so unless you wanted to do time travel or modern, I doubt you'd be interested. But it was cool to get reminded by one of my favorite books from middle school!

oh my goodness, thank you so much!!! i was afraid this wouldn't be well-received because i've seen backlash it got by people who hadn't actually even read it and quite literally judged its cover, but it's one of the most beautiful, tragic, heartbreaking, gorgeous stories i've ever read and i wish it got more credit. i would love to see a remake of the movie that's more true to the book, as the made-for-tv movie in 1978 was watered down to be more palatable. we read the diary of anne frank in middle school, but i read this on my own in high school and fell in love with the story. i revisited it later in my late 20s and appreciated it even more, it's haunted me in the most beautiful way. i feel like this hits harder emotionally for adults, even if it's a smaller book, because reading it both times, i had a different understanding of it.

i'd need to think about how patty would fit into that era, but i'm totally willing to do modern patty!!! i've actually thought about that and i've made modern playlists and started developing some headcanons. also, i have another muse that would fit into the 18th century!!! @darkwavedreams my goth girly who would be a poet or a fashion designer ahead of her time in that century. i'm willing to do an AU!

sometimes the worst feeling in the world is when you love a book and its characters so much and you're speaking into the void and talking to yourself with no answer because nobody cares and nobody's listening. and i know i can't force people to care about a story they don't want to read or even know about and it just sucks, i think i'm the only person who actually likes this book????

and then don't even get me started on the fake booktok/book vloggers who do it for clout but if you give them book recs, they didn't even hear you. what was that sound? a dog barking? back to checking their followers.

don't tell me you like vintage if you'll wear something from a thrift shop but won't read any book that wasn't written before the 2000s.

For my English (ELA) class at school. I drew Patty (left) and Sharon (right) Bergen from the novel we were assigned, Summer of My German Soldier. It was a great book, but very heart-wrenching. ;n;
