a/n I know Aira's bday was a bit ago but I feel like celebrating it again. Newbie Idol AU.

💝Present for You ~ Aira💝

"Oooh! Newbie!" Aira's eyes light up as he turns in your direction, "You came to celebrate my birthday!" He rushes over to you and clasps your hand in his.

You distantly hear Tori yelling about being ignored and interrupted but that can wait. Aira is pulling you by your hand from the entrance further into the party. You are glad he noticed you immediately because you are instantly overwhelmed by all the big-name idols at the party. Of course, all of Alkaloid is here but even the leaders of UNDEAD and fine have graced this room with their presence.

Your mind swims a bit, but you are pulled back to reality as Aira's hand slips from yours. The whole time your other hand has been tucked behind your back, hiding your gift from view.

"Ha-happy birthday Shiratori-senpai!" You stumble out.

Aira smiles at your stuttering, clearly trying not to laugh before composing himself. "Geez, Newbie, you know you can call me Aira~ I'm not that senior to you when it comes to idol activities anyways."

You let out a soft breath, "Okay... Aira-senpai!"

Aira smiles and puts his hands to his face, "That sounds so Love~!" He blushes and moves excitedly, "It's so cool to be a senpai... I was an underachiever for so long you know."

You smile back, satisfied having heard your senpai's signature phrase. "I've brought you something, Aira-senpai," You fiddle with the object still hidden from Aira's view.

Aira's face lights up again, "Really? I'm so excited!"

You bring the envelope before you and grasping it with both hands, offer it with your head bowed. "Happy birthday, senpai!"

You aren't looking but you can hear Aira clasp his hands together in delight before gently taking the letter from your outstretched hands. "A letter? Thank you, Newbie!"

You blush as you look back up at Aira admiring the lettering and decoration on the envelope. "I've only been able to spend a little bit of time training with you..." You start, "But I want to get to know Aira-senpai more... So, I wrote all sorts of things in that letter!" You break eye contact briefly, "I also included... one of my training unit bromides... since you like idol goods. I hope that's not overstepping..."

Aira beams at you, his smile wide. "That's so Love~!! A photo of my cute kouhai? It'll be a rare item when you make your major debut! I'll cherish it, thank you~"

Your smile matches his as he praises you. You'll thank the staff later for printing pre-debut goods for you and the other trainees.

"Shiratoriiiii!" You see Tori distantly waving his arms and throwing a fit as Yuzuru lightly scolds him.

"Oops, gotta go! Have fun at the party and have some cake!" Aira waves as he turns, still securely holding the letter. "Coming, Himemiya-senpai!" He throws another smile over his shoulder before disappearing further into the party.

You are left a little dumbfounded in the middle of the room, but you spy another trainee idol at the dessert table. Well, it would be rude not to try the cake~

Dear Fan-san,

I'm sorry you have to support someone like me...

Surely you must do it out of pity? Or some kind of sick joke? Maybe I am rude for assuming such terrible things of you. Aira-san cheers for idols with all of his heart. It would be much kinder of me to assume that you do the same for me.

So, I will try not to apologize... Instead, I will thank you for your support. I am not worthy to have the gaze of someone so pure turned in my direction. I mess up a lot in lives and tend to creep people out. But I will try to accept your love.

Tatsumi-san says humans are good, after all.

But I suppose I am subhuman...

That's no good. I shouldn't force my worries onto you.

In the end, I wanted to thank you for writing to me. I am so glad to receive fan letters and your words were very kind. I am a little happy that such words of kindness were for me and not for another idol... Even if I have trouble accepting those words... I am happy ♡

I hope you enjoy the snapshot I sent along with my letter. I was afraid to send such an unpleasant image, but Aira-san said any fan would be grateful.

I also put some stickers in from my collection. I don't think a lot of fans know this, but I very much enjoy cute things ♡

I hope someone as kind as you can find it in their heart to write to someone as lowly as me at least one more time. I would love to know more about you. Do you like cute things as well? What compelled you to write to me? Though I'm not sure if I can handle the answer to that second question...
