This poll is a celebration of fandom and fandom history; we're aware that there are certain issues with some of the listed pairings and sources, but they are a part of that history. Please do not take this as an endorsement of anything included in the bracket, and refrain from harassment.

One of those goofy maid animes, except the viewpoint character isn't the hapless master or mistress of the house, but a regular-ass janitor who ended up on this crew due to a paperwork mixup at the temp agency and can't figure out what the fuck is wrong with her co-workers.

I'm kind of a bad person to come to with questions about gender because my answer will almost always be "you should go on hormones abt it"

my meds are hitting so im sorry if this doesn't make sense but. but.
when people say calling out transmisogyny goes against unity between transfems and transmascs thats so telling because it doesn't go against unity between transfems and transmascs. it goes against unity between transmisogyny affected people and transmisoginists.
saying it is against unity with transmascs implies being violently transmisoginistic is an inherent value and core of every transmasc. and they're telling on themselves.
like if a transmasc feels like transfeminism goes against him, it's because he is a transmisoginist, not because he's a guy
this this this totally this

stop telling trans girls that "it's okay to be a feminine man" and start saying it to "cis" girls with a little bit of a fujoshi vibe instead. would have saved me years.

this is something I've been discussing privately trans friends irl, but I do want to say it here too.
I personally think we'll probably see an increasing wave of people going from transandro bros -> vocal TWERFs -> detrans grifters as things continue down this ideological path.
this pipeline isn't a "oh, how ironic, they were basically trans men's rights activists and now their whole identity is hating men and trans people" thing. this is an increasingly well-trodden path back cis privilege when threatened, that is paved by transmisogyny.
it works by trampling other trans people (especially and specifically TMA people, but other trans people are not safe either) to claw their way up the hierarchy. whoever offered them resources & compassion will be the first to get the blame for who "brainwashed" them into being trans, or "preyed" on them, or whatever narrative gets them traction and releases them from responsibility for their own gender transgressions.
obviously this pipeline has existed for a while, and I don't want to be overly paranoid, but I do genuinely predict that as structural transphobia amps up, the number of cases are gonna go from a trickle to an active stream. I can see how the rates of de-trans TWERFs goes up whenever there's new transphobic legislation passed & surges of transmisogynistic and transphobic discourses in mainstream electoral politics.
I legit view this as a ticking time bomb within trans spaces as christofascism & broader structural and cultural transphobia gets sharper and threatens more people who previously have not faced the brunt of it.
who makes up this population will vary depending on local context, of course. around me, it's gonna be unincarcerated, white, middle class, tme people. whoever is sheltered from the most violent structural forms of transphobia, is the most scared shitless by the loss of safety they previously had access to, and has the easiest path to cis-ness via their usefulness as a tool/token to reactionaries-- those are the people to watch.
I really caution more marginalized trans people against seriously organizing with or being vulnerable around any tme trans people with this sort of positionality who are testing waters with comments about how 'valid' detransitioners are or how they're so scared "as an afab" about whatever current political development.
I'm not saying that people who are scared should be abandoned or denied resources, obviously. everyone is scared. (this is my "please don't take this in bad faith and out of context" disclaimer.)
I'm saying I believe there is a real need to be careful, knowing this is now an established channel that exists back to cisgender subjectivity.
if someone is already building an exit plan from trans spaces, you need to always keep in mind--especially in a far right environment--the path back to cisgender subjectivity is not bloodless.
to be cis, one must be considered innocent of gendered transgression. to establish retroactive innocence once one's already publicly rejected assignment, the blame for one's gendered transgressions must be shoved onto someone else.
be careful around anyone who is testing out "look what you made me do" rationalizing.

Trauma dumping becoming a popularized term is just so fucking sad idk that’s one of the worst ones used casually obv there will always be people who say and ask too much from people who cant and don’t know how to handle it but it becoming some sort of pop psychology criminal offense is insane. like someone constantly oversharing is a huge sign something is very wrong you just need to understand that sometimes you’re not the one to fix it and can walk away if need be. Not talk massive shit and play victim ruining someone’s life because they told you too much about their childhood or something just keep it moving
