Merrill to bethany: ∗ 36﹕ sender  is  found  drunk  by  receiver .

@rotttensaint sent an ask. // merrill & bethany.

"oh my goodness!" comes the immediate response when one bethany hawke finds the other, seemingly several too many mugs of ale deep of something that makes the smaller elf reek of booze. her expression softens and hardens all at once, rushing quickly over to the woman and watching her waist with some urgency.

"merrill! maker's breath, what's happened to you?" bethany hisses through tight lips.

she pulls the elf towards her taller body, dipping down to loop the woman's arm up and over her shoulders so that the mage can support the other's body weight. "have you gone drinking with varric again? maker, when I get my hands on that dwarf!"

carefully, bethany pulls the other with her, worrying a line against the corner of her lip with her teeth as her eyebrows pinch down in a low, frustratingly unsure expression. "I doubt mother will like it much if I bring you home with me but... I worry leaving you alone like this may... be unsafe for you." the brunette says to the other, though she decides it's more in merrill's direction than to.

however, after several long moments staring hard at the other's face, does the hawke sister decide with no room for reproach or decorum. their uncle will simply have to deal with it. "that does it. home with me."

some notes about my da2 crew ; ( aveline vallen edition. ) aveline is bisexual, though I tend toward her being a heavily closeted lesbian who occasionally, with time and effort, might pursue a man if given the right circumstances. ( though this varies heavily, and sometimes she's just outright not interested. chemistry is BIG for her. ) despite this, aveline is not solely "black & white" thinking. she's not an idiot on the things going on, and while she may have a big personality toward certain actions, she's not against turning the other cheek when it's helpful to the people she considers family & friend alike. her sense of justice is high, but she is an inherently flawed character that makes some maybe 'problematic' choices to help her friends, and uses the power she has to the advantage of herself and others. ( so long as she believes it is for the good of the people she's serving. )

The warden raised his eyebrows as they trekked onwards, expression scarcely containing the full intensity of how distraught he appeared. The warrior’s lips pulled down and his nose wrinkled wildly, scrunching up in an ugly way. Hell, the man stopped once—pausing halfway between his stride, and then jolts forward again only when Morrigan scoffs and dodges past his broad shoulder. Quickly, he catches back up, resting his hand on the pommel of his sword as he regards the rogue with much scrutiny. Alistair asks haughtily, swallowing down his nerves. “Is this… truly the way you think of people?”

He had to admit some truth to the words, even if it seemed somewhat… appalling. Loghain had yet to be caught for his wrongdoings at Ostagar, and while the warrior did not think he and his companions were necessarily criminals, were they not hiding from the whole of the realm, dodging and dancing around Loghain’s men in attempt to free themselves from the swift end they might meet as a result? He lifts his hand, rubbing and then scratching at his head, semi-soothed by the sound of his plate armor clinking together. “Do you think all people will become criminals, or is it a matter of perspective? Surely you don’t expect all people to go about doing the wrong thing wherever they please?”
