Barnaby’s chest rose and fell with every breath, tender and tranquil, each one fogging up the oxygen mask that had been strapped over his face. He had no business looking that pretty hooked up to a million different machines and wires. The only thing Kotetsu noticed out of place was a stray lock of hair which had fallen over his eye from when the doctors had changed his bandages, which would surely drive Barnaby crazy if he were aware of it. Maybe he was. He could help him with that.
