My quilt was selected out of 500 pieces and exhibited in a gallery. I never dreamed when I started quilting kids quilts that someone over the age 5 would see my quilt as fine art. What’s even more exciting is out of 123 shown, I was part of the 19 who’s pieces were purchased before the gallery even opened to the public. I hope the new owners get a kick out of the fact the Darth Vader glows in the dark…..😂

This quilt came in best of show of the Maui County Fair 2019. I also placed in Xmas crafts and another quilt. I won $22’s in prize money and free entry. I guess colorful chaos ruled this year for judge’s preferences. Lucky Maui!!!

I hate organizing my leftover quilt strips. To avoid being a responsible quilter, i went “crazy” instead. Most of the fabrics are my favorites so I call this my happy quilting history quilt. This really captures what I want all my quilts to be, chaotic happiness….and btw, my sewing area is still a mess…..

My attempt to use up my stash of star wars fabric I had purchase way too much of.......I made three stockings and they placed in the Maui county fair holiday creafts completion. I won ribbons and money. It was awesome. I got in for free cuz I competed and I got money to buy my man and me chow fun and a pronto pup. Don’t laugh to hard cuz the Maui county fair is expensive!!

My last minute quilt for baby’s first bday. I had only 8 days to create from start to finish. With two cooking jobs It was a challenge. I had to sacrifice size for speed. I even had to bust out free motion instead of my usual lines. I was so happy on the day of the party I was finally all pau. I laid it on my bed to take a photo and then to my horror I saw the bottom part of my quilt has fading damage from fabric I had purchased on sale. Shit!!! Then I realized the baby’s grandmother was a quilter and professionally fixed damaged quilts and would spot my stupidity immediately. Oops!

My 2018 county of Maui fair 1st place winner. Two years ago, I thought it would be rad to make a quilt that looked like it was inside the cockpit during a space ship battle. In this I learned to do appliqué and make my own since no one on Maui was selling premade control panels for a space ship. Can u believe that? Overall it was a fun quilt create and most importantly i thought it looked cool. I entered it in our county fair because I wanted encourage others to quilt their dreams not only other people’s designs. Getting the blue ribbon was a fun surprise!!
