hi (o_o)ﾉﾞi forgot i had a tumblr for a bit but i wanna use it again, been getting back into making art and i wanna share what i’ve made recently.

i put out a new song! it’s called Penny Trees/Hey Daylight, bit of a random detour while i try and get back to working on a project i’ve had in the works since october of last year. i went down a little rabbit hole of vhs tape generation loss demo videos and meditation drone music, so i blended that together into a long ambient song. hope you like if you listen :)

also made some fanart of two music projects i really like, Benny Benji and a local band Heel, y’all should check out Big Dog River off of Benny’s album Hitch Your Wagon to a Star and Honeycomb off of Heel’s double single Honeycomb/Snatch, both amazing songs by talented artists (the other stuff is also awesome).

well that’s all for now, i’ll use this more in the future, it’s a fun way to keep me practicing my art instead of letting it collect dust. bye o7

made something inspired by the cover art for “petal dance” by Gingerbee, beautiful song and band. i don’t know if they gave her a name but i petition it should be Petalby. drawing’s been difficult to get back into, it’s kinda taxing since i’m not used to it anymore but i would like for that to change, i don’t wanna give up something i was starting to love.

Tried something a bit different for the past couple posters i’ve made for the radio show, talked about two of my favorite bands Xiu Xiu and Home Is Where :) I figured the colored backgrounds fit better than what I typically do with nature shots.

Both the posters have a lot of references, the left poster references several Xiu Xiu album covers like Oh No and Girl With Basket of Fruit, and the right poster references the art for one of the singles that came out before The Whaler, the title of one of the songs (floral organs) and one of the shirts they put out for the album

Been working on drawing human bodies more, figured i would inevitably have to try my hand at that since getting better at that means getting better at drawing in general!

So far this is my favorite attempt, it’s a tad bit risqué but it’s also important to me in a weird way. Idealizing what i maybe could have looked like or something like that (i want big natties) and one of my favorite interpol lyrics from obstacle 1.

I particularly like how the head came out :)

I made a lot of art over spring break. These ^ two pieces were inspired by some of my many favorite Xiu Xiu lyrics, from Suha and Blacks respectively. Love Jamie Stewart’s mind and voice <3

These ^ two were an effort to convey some very complicated feelings i tend to experience when i go home. An unpleasant mix of depersonalization, nostalgia, and alienation. It’s hard to be in that house when my head wants to be just about anywhere else. I spent so much time outside, reminiscing, thinking on memories i can’t tell if i ever really lived through. Some of them brought comfort, most of them made me feel even smaller. If this life is our only chance that would really be a shame.
