I think we should do more art and writing about things we only vaguely have a concept of and therefore create something entirely new.

writing isn’t hard it’s just emotionally devastating and time-consuming and requires full body possession by an idea

I think people have truly lost any ability to be patient with storytelling.

‘I don’t understand this’ They’ll explain it if you wait.

‘I don’t like how this episode left things hanging’ There’s a continuation next week.

‘This character is flat’ Wait for them to be fleshed out.

So many of the complaints I see about shows lately are people being confused by things THAT THE SHOW WANTS YOU TO BE CONFUSED BY THATS THE FUN OF MYSTERY AND FORESHADOWING YOU ABSOLUTE GOBLINS THE MAIN CHARACTER IS ALSO CONFUSED AND THEYRE GONNA DO A BIG REVEAL AND EXPLANATION LATER IF YOU WOULD JUST FUCKING WAIT

I love that in most of the "aliens think humans are weird" posts humans are addressed as "human Kathy" and "human Mike", but the aliens are called Abruxtl and M'urk (despite being from very obviously different species), as if the humans have to be constantly reminded of their humanity.

Human Kathy points this out as discriminatory but had to admit that only last week they caught human Meg trying to lick a battery because she saw X'orgjos do it before, so maybe they aren't entirely wrong to throw out the reminder.

so embarrassing to get obsessed with your own oc but it doesn't fuel you creatively or motivate you at all you just sort of sit there. like yeah I've been thinking a lot about blorbo from my mind. no images of them exist in the world and they have maybe 3 personality traits so far. I would rather die than attempt to write about them. I've spent the last 48 hours rotating them in my brain though
