Short answer: I don’t know.

Long answer: A lot has been happening in my life, both good and bad. The bad has been impacting my mental health which in turn has been impacting my ability to write or really, do anything. When inspiration and ideas hit, I’ll write something. But I won’t force myself because that’s bad for me and gives y’all a bad piece of work which I won’t do either.

So I really don’t want to do this because it’s humiliating but there’s a very real chance my ESA could be stopped next week, I have to go for an assessment then and if they declare me ‘fit for work’ I have no more income, even if I challenge the decision it could take weeks or months to sort. I wasn’t expecting this, I was hoping given it’s only been a year and a half and I filled out another assessment paper for them that they wouldn’t demand this. But here we are. 

The pitiful amount you get on ESA means saving is basically impossible so guess who is broke? Me. Guess who has an outstanding balance of £30 to pay? Me. Guess who has no family they can ask to pay it off because I either have nothing to do with them or have asked enough of them? Me. 

Even if you just reblog it’d be a big help to me. Thank you.

Mark Upon Thy Flesh

He stood there amidst the crowd of stuffy, upper class folk. She saw him so clearly despite the many bodies in the room that it was as if nobody else existed in this place but her and he and she felt ever so drawn to him; this handsome man with hair as black as a raven’s wing, skin of alabaster, and eyes as grey and piercing as freshly polished steel.

Her legs carried her to him, drawn she was to him like a moth to a flame and he smiled so prettily at her as she approached him. She did not smile herself, far too bewitched by the man to look at him with anything but awe.

“I do not believe I have ever made your acquaintance, good sir,” she said as she held her hand out to him.

He rested his fingers just under hers and bent to press a feather light kiss to her knuckles. His kiss held a heat to it like nothing she had felt before and for a moment it seeped through her glove and her flesh and muscle and licked at her bones with such fire that she wanted to cry out yet something stopped her from showing even an ounce of pain.

Hey so I need some help.

Things were rough this morning in terms of hey we need groceries but now it’s literally devolved into such a life and death situation.  Without going into too many details:  one of my kids that lives with me is technically the daughter of one of my exes.  Her father has a heart attack this morning, is on life support & is now in ICU, her mother has been arrested for abuse and neglect and her younger sibling is in DCF custody.  We have to get her out to Ocala to see her father,  we have to get the animals at her parent’s house fed and taken care of for the next few days until we sort out what’s going on with her mother and we have to buy the food for the cats, dogs, rabbit  etc.   It’s a two hour trip, $30+ bucks in gas, probably another $20+ for pet care stuff and, honestly, if I could get McDonald’s for the kids on their way out to deal with this or something that would be cool but honestly right now it’s just absolute shit.  There’s more going on behind the scenes and I’m a super ball of stress and panic but yeah.  I could really, really use some financial assistance to deal with this emergency situation.  I really don’t want Ivy to not be able to see her dad.  When we talked to the ICU nurse she couldn’t give us specific details but she told us, if it was her dad, she’d want to make it to the hospital tonight.

Gotta love the fact Tumblr has flagged one of my stories despite the fact that: 

None of the images I use as any story header is nsfw, even vaguely. 

Erotica (which the story is SERIOUSLY not) is supposed to be exempt from their new stupid as fuck rules anyway.

The Woods Outside Lethe: Part 1

Deputy Horowitz answered the phone that morning. He knew everybody in the small town of Miller’s Creek; he knew what they sounded like too, so when the voice on the other end of the line spoke he was confused as he’d never heard the man before.

The man introduced himself as Elder Victor Walker and he said that they needed to come down to Lethe. No more details were given before the phone was hung up.

Horowitz had heard about Lethe before but didn’t know much about it and didn’t really ask when the Sheriff told him not to worry about the place because they may never even go down there. Horowitz should have asked after it, he knew that, but when he had become Deputy he was young and still kind of shy and when Sheriff Grady told him not to worry about Lethe, he had listened and never really thought about the place again until now.

So I sent this i an email but

I would like to voice my extreme upset at the policy changes on the website. Tumblr has always been a place people have felt happy ad safe to express themselves in any and all means and that includes 'adult content'.

There is a huge difference between a porn gif of two adults someone has made and CHILD PORNOGRAPHY.

As a user, this is deeply upsetting to me. I joined Tumblr because it did not censor its users and their abilities to explore sexuality and nsfw material. It was refreshing in the face of social media censorship.

Your new community guidelines are a step backwards and a huge slap in the face to your userbase. Not only this but they are deeply sexist. 'Female presenting nipples'? Really? Is this website stepping back in terms of progression. Where a shirtless woman not breastfeeding is somehow pornographic.

Countless artist use this site as a means of sharing their 'adult' content and reaching a large userbase. This will hurt them as well as other content makers as well as the people who consume their creations.

I'm incredibly disappointed in the fact you did not consult your userbase on this matter, just thrust the change upon us. Ignoring that most of your users post or reblog content of this nature in some form or another.

I sincerely hope you listen to the outcry and upset I have already seen across the site else this site will sincerely suffer for it.

Anyway I urge EVERYONE to email staff and voice their discontent with this ridiculous update no one wanted or asked for. I use Tumblr because it’s so free and ope with adult content, I don’t want that censored. 

A better, more positive Tumblr

Since its founding in 2007, Tumblr has always been a place for wide open, creative self-expression at the heart of community and culture. We’ve realized that in order to continue to fulfill our promise and place in culture, especially as it evolves, we must change. Some of that change began with fostering more constructive dialogue among our community members. Today, we’re taking another step by no longer allowing adult content, including explicit sexual content and nudity (with some exceptions).  

Let’s first be unequivocal about something that should not be confused with today’s policy change: posting anything that is harmful to minors, including child pornography, is abhorrent and has no place in our community. We’ve always had and always will have a zero tolerance policy for this type of content. To this end, we continuously invest in the enforcement of this policy, including industry-standard machine monitoring, a growing team of human moderators, and user tools that make it easy to report abuse. We also closely partner with the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children and the Internet Watch Foundation, two invaluable organizations at the forefront of protecting our children from abuse, and through these partnerships we report violations of this policy to law enforcement authorities. We can never prevent all bad actors from attempting to abuse our platform, but we make it our highest priority to keep the community as safe as possible.

So what is changing?

Posts that contain adult content will no longer be allowed on Tumblr, and we’ve updated our Community Guidelines to reflect this policy change. We recognize Tumblr is also a place to speak freely about topics like art, sex positivity, your relationships, your sexuality, and your personal journey. We want to make sure that we continue to foster this type of diversity of expression in the community, so our new policy strives to strike a balance.

Why are we doing this?

It is our continued, humble aspiration that Tumblr be a safe place for creative expression, self-discovery, and a deep sense of community. As Tumblr continues to grow and evolve, and our understanding of our impact on our world becomes clearer, we have a responsibility to consider that impact across different age groups, demographics, cultures, and mindsets. We spent considerable time weighing the pros and cons of expression in the community that includes adult content. In doing so, it became clear that without this content we have the opportunity to create a place where more people feel comfortable expressing themselves.

Bottom line: There are no shortage of sites on the internet that feature adult content. We will leave it to them and focus our efforts on creating the most welcoming environment possible for our community.

So what’s next?

Starting December 17, 2018, we will begin enforcing this new policy. Community members with content that is no longer permitted on Tumblr will get a heads up from us in advance and steps they can take to appeal or preserve their content outside the community if they so choose. All changes won’t happen overnight as something of this complexity takes time.

Another thing, filtering this type of content versus say, a political protest with nudity or the statue of David, is not simple at scale. We’re relying on automated tools to identify adult content and humans to help train and keep our systems in check. We know there will be mistakes, but we’ve done our best to create and enforce a policy that acknowledges the breadth of expression we see in the community.

Most importantly, we’re going to be as transparent as possible with you about the decisions we’re making and resources available to you, including more detailed information, product enhancements, and more content moderators to interface directly with the community and content.

Like you, we love Tumblr and what it’s come to mean for millions of people around the world. Our actions are out of love and hope for our community. We won’t always get this right, especially in the beginning, but we are determined to make your experience a positive one.
