Simple Bonding With Your New Deck
A straightforward guide for understanding and bonding with a new deck
â ・Ë۰ Ëâ˝Ë ââˇ ď˝ĄË â ŕź âź âś
âś Cleanse your deck
This can be done with numerous methods. Saining ritual, Crystals (like selenite or salt), Sound, Knocking, Moonlight, Sunlight, etc Choose the one that you like best, whichever feels right to you, or use a combination of these that feel good for you!
⡠Explore your deck
Before reading the booklet that comes with your cards, flip through the deck card by card and explore the imagery and symbolism of each card. If you can, journal down your initial thoughts for each card, including how each card makes you feel. Is there a specific card that you're drawn to? Why?
⸠Read the guide book
Repeat Step 2 while reading through and referencing the little white book. How do the author/artist's intentions line up with your original intuitions about each card? Do they conflict? If so, look deeper and try to figure out where your view of the card differs. (this does not necessarily mean your intuition is wrong)
âš Spend time with your deck
This can include sleeping with your deck next to you/under your pillow, travelling with your deck on your person, carrying around and focusing on a specific card each day, spending time shuffling the cards to mix your energy, or any other ideas you can come up with that allows you to keep the deck, the cards, and the imagery/symbolisms on your mind throughout the day.
âş Interview your deck
This can be done at any point, but often itâs the most rewarding after you understand the cards to a decent degree. At this point, you should have a good feel for the deck's overall energy and a general idea of what each card represents and why. You'll be able to understand what the deck is trying to tell you much better than if you did this step at the beginning.
âť Start using your deck
When you feel like you understand the cards and feel comfortable using them for readings, go for it. From this point on, it's going to be growth via experience. Continue to grow your intuition and personal associations with the deck, as well as remembering how the guidebook describes their meanings as that will be different from deck to deck, even if theyâre all still tarot cards. Journaling, taking notes, or even just photos of your readings will be super helpful to build an understanding of the decks personality and to see where you might have previously misunderstood something.

Donât blow out your candles when you finish meditations
Youâre blowing away the manifestations that those candles hold. For a while now I have been wanting a candle snuffed and plan to hopefully get one soon.

đ WHAT IS MOON WATER?
You can create Moon water by leaving water outdoors to charge under the moonlight. Because the Moon affects the oceanâs tides, thereâs already an energetic connection between the element of water and the Moon. When you add intention (and maybe a crystal or two), you can create a tool that can be used for everything from watering your plants to adding to your bath to cleansing your home.
đ TO CREATE MOON WATER YOUâLL NEED:
A jar or container (I recommend a mason jar or other clear jar, but any jar, glass, or even Tupperware will do)
Water (from a tap, from a bottle, from a riverâŚjust make sure itâs safe to drink if you plan on doing so)
A label to date your Moon water and note which sign and phase the Moon is in (like âFull Moon in Taurus, October 31, 2020â)
Water-safe crystals, like rose quartz, clear quartz, or amethyst (optional)
Cleansing herbs, like mugwort (ruled by the Moon), lavender (for relaxation and healing), rosemary (for protection), or sweetgrass (for positive energy) (optional)
A lighter and bowl to burn the herbs (optional)
An intention to focus on, such as peace, love, or acceptance (optional)
MOON WATER đ§ is traditionally charged at night under the light of the Full Moon, when lunar energy is at its most potent and weâre easily able to connect to our intuition. You can also make Moon water during a Gibbous Moon, when the Moon is almost full. Never make Moon water during an eclipseâeclipse energy overpowers lunar energy, so itâs not a good time to do this kind of work.
Whichever phase you choose, check which zodiac sign the Moon is in, because this will affect the energy of the water. For example, Moon water charged under a Full Moon in Taurus, ruled by Venus, will encourage love and pleasure, and Moon water charged under a Full Moon in Gemini, ruled by Mercury, can help you claim your voice.
If youâre using any of the following, begin by cleansing your jar or container with smoke from your herbs, sticking on your label, and adding crystals to your jar. Then add water. Place your jar somewhere outside so it can absorb the Moonâs energyâeven if you canât see the Full Moon, the water will still charge.
If youâd like, you can take a moment to meditate: Hold your palms over the water and picture the lunar energy moving through the crown of your head, down your spine and arms, through your body, and out of your palms into the water. As you do so, focus on the intention youâre setting, then thank the universe for letting you connect with the cosmos. Finally, leave the water to charge overnight. In the morning, youâll have Moon water!
đ HOW TO USE MOON WATER:
Okay, so you made Moon water. Now what do you do with it? Lucky you, there are many options:
Use it to clean your altar, sacred space, crystals, or any ritual tools
Add it to a ritual bath
Make ice cubes
Use it to cleanse your floor (yep, you can just add it to your PineSol!)
Dip your brushes in it when you paint
Use it to water your plants
Create a fragrant room spray by adding essential oils and alcohol
Use it in your essential oil diffuser
Drink it so you can absorb it into your body
Use it to anoint your body, as a way of energetically cleansing yourself
And if you think of another use, go for it. Get creative and let the magick of the Moon and your heart guide you. As witches say, and so it is! â¨
