CRAP. that’s right! this is the /third/ time. i honestly don’t think anyone deserves that. and watching peter actually make progress (the way he treated stiles, taking the keys, that was all /progress/), only to have to live his worst nightmare again? make it stop.

That’s why I love they took his pain. At least someone helped him this time. He’s always said he was a work-in-progress...and he’s never been all bad. A villain, a sociopath, sure, but he loves his family. That can’t be denied. It isn’t fair to burn him again, but knowing that he probably knew that, kind of makes his sacrifice for Malia (and himself lbr) a bit sweeter.

I WAS SO UPSET THAT THEY BURNED PETER AGAIN. i know he tends to…not be good. but fucking nobody deserves that. burning him a second time made me so sad.

I KNOWWW. I WAS YELLING. Like does he deserve some of what he’s got? Sure. Did he deserve to live his worst nightmare over and over? Nah, friend (or maybe so but idc). AND this would actually be the third time. The Hale Fire, end of s1, and now again. He’s almost been on fire more than he’s not been on fire. lol But we got flashbacks of how he got out, so I’ll forgive.

Who the fuck is talking about ships right now? Peter Hale legitimately sacrificed himself in the hopes of saving his own flesh and blood. The child he so clearly always had an attachment to but was never able to be there for. The girl who was never and is still not meant to be alive. The only person who he cares enough about to risk his life on a theory for. My life has been cleaned up.

Peter Hale’s Redemption: Not So Fast

I think people are jumping to conclusions about this being a ‘Peter Hale redemption arc.’  

Peter is not a cardboard cut-out.   He is a fully developed human being with wants and needs of his own.   In “Radio Silence,” did he do a tiny good thing by bringing Stiles’ keys back from the Train Station?  Yes.  Does that make this a redemption arc?  No.

Remember, the first thing we see is Peter carefully carving a revenge spiral on the floor of his cell.   That does not show a man who is sorry for what he’s done.   That shows a man who feels he has been wronged, yet again.   

And if six months in Eichen House didn’t cause him to reflect on his past wrongdoings, three months in the Wild Hunt’s Train Station (where he wasn’t aware of the passage of time) isn’t going to do it. 

Nor do we have any evidence that he wants ‘redemption.’  He wants to connect with Malia.   He wants to be remembered.  He wants it to mean something.  None of those motivations have anything to do with make it up to people he’s wronged.

He’s still the same Peter.  He’s still the same person who thinks that his way of facing the world is the best.   So he did stop Stiles from getting disintegrated – he’s never been needlessly violent.   “Only the responsible ones.”  He endured the pain of the portal because he wanted out, not to make it up to anyone.

Redemption requires contrition.  Peter still doesn’t think he’s done anything wrong.

Peter is back, and I LIVE. The rest of this season I could really have done without, but my baby being smart as hell and figuring shit out and F L A S H B A C K S and DOING IT ALL FOR MALIA.

The pack was so predictable it was almost pathetic. All this effort and fuss to save Lydia, and they practically opened the doors for him themselves. What he needed now was one person to open that door. 

After all these years, the pleasure hadn’t faded in the slightest he’d managed to get one secret over on Talia. Where she stole one child, he hid another. Corinne wasn’t reliable, that was clear in more ways than the obvious. Another woman had been. By the looks of his son now, she didn’t screw it up.

Peter Hale was a free man.

Taking a careful step out through the cell door, he smirked at his namesake. Now he had a child worthy of some pride. “A temporary glitch in my plans,” he dismissed, “nothing we can’t fix.”

He had jumped from trains, faked Tris’s death in order to save her, and escaped a tightly guarded city.  Breaking one man out of a supernatural mental institute should be a piece of cake.

As luck would have it, a screaming girl was trying to escape and he walked right through.  He hadn’t called Beacon Hills home since he was six years old.  It got weirder.

Of course, it required a little more skill to find the cell he was in and open it.  With an unconscious guard at his feet, he had access to the door.  

As the door opened, he looked at the prisoner.  “I heard you were in some trouble…Dad.”

HIATUS (intermittent and indefinite)

I fully expected to do more here, but as always, life has its twists and turns. I’m pulling back from rping as much as I used to, and in that decision, I am unfortunately going to drop some blogs. I will at times pop over here for a night or to throw some memes/threads at a friend, but I have to come first.

I am keeping a few blogs active---er (lol aka if you want to keep in touch you can ask for those), but instead of revamping Peter like I wanted initially, I’ve chosen him for one of the blogs I will hiatus (or keep on hiatus). This place is too often negative, and with a mind that seeks out negative most days, I need to weed some of this out of my life to improve myself. Let’s be real, guys, sometimes this fun place is just an excuse to completely escape life (in many times, unhealthy ways), and I’m frankly getting tired of escape.

Krista stood in front of the stack of old books and papers she’d been researching. The same research that had led her back to Beacon Hills. As much as she wanted to avoid this place, and certain occupants, the chance to bring her family back, it was too much to pass up. She’d found the information on the relic by accident, and in a pleasant surprise after much more searching realized it really did exist. The fact that it was in this town did little to discourage her. She was stronger now, she could avoid the distractions and keep herself from being effected by those who had in the past had too much influence on her.

She flipped through the pages again, attempting to find a place to start. Her finger scanning over the old text of the purchaser history, a low growl suddenly pouring from her lips as it landed on a name she’d never wanted to see again. “Hale…you have got to be kidding me..” she complained, raking her fingers through her hair as she began pacing her hotel room. 

It may have been his sister who had purchased it, but the chances were that he still had it, or at least knew where to find it. “Damn it” she hissed, there was no way he was going to make this easy on her, but she couldn’t stop now. She was so close to having them all back, and once again it was Peter Hale standing in her way.

When she arrived at his home, she did so without a call or a hint of why she was paying him a visit. She didn’t want to in any way give him more of an upper hand then he obviously would already have. “Peter, open the damn door, before I kick it in. We need to talk.”

He could smell her before she started to bang on the door, it was a familiar situation for them. As much as she fussed and swore she would leave him behind for good, her life seemed to constantly tangle back with his. An unfortunate inevitability. For her.

In no rush, Peter took his time getting to her demand, let the anticipation and frustration build. As always, this was a power play for both. He opened the door with a sigh and an unconcerned drawl, “you’ve not changed at all. Miss me already?”

Stepping aside, he motioned her inside with a near hospitable ‘mi casa es su casa’ wave. 

Then, there it was, that smirk. 

He knew she needed him for something.
