My Alien OC Qilani to Wolverine Comic Style

Meet Qilani – a 1.55 m tall, 300+ year old Kalaxian archaeologist, empathic alien, and Wolverine’s rescuer. 🛸💙

Qilani hails from Kalaxa, a planet with extreme gravity — which means that despite her petite frame, she possesses remarkable physical strength. In my alternate X-Men universe (Earth-7724), it was Qilani— not Heather Hudson — who discovered the feral Logan after his escape from the Weapon X program. Their bond formed slowly and naturally, based on emotional trust and shared solitude — not trauma. She’s not a warrior but a researcher, though her physical strength (thanks to Kalaxa’s gravity) and sharp mind make her a force in her own right.

Qilani is not your typical comic book heroine: small, calm, ancient, alien — and profoundly human in all the ways that matter.

Interesting theory! It's entirely possible that Vash can breathe underwater in Stampede. Or maybe it just looks that way because he can hold his breath long enough without suffocating.

This brings me to a scene in Trigun Badlands Rumple where Vash lands face first in quicksand. He stays under the sand until the night before he finally manages to pull himself out of the quicksand thanks to the somewhat involuntary help of Milly and Meryl. A person would have suffocated after just a short time. So it could well be that as a Plant he simply has to breathe less. Maybe his plant body regulates oxygen in a different way than plants do.

I love how in the beginning of episode 11 we see Vash struggling to breathe under water.

He is flailing around, panicing because he thinks he needs air.

and then he´s like: Oh wait, I am a plant

I can breathe in water!

and actually can move and dodge pretty efficiently in it (if my enemy isn´t my brother ...)

This scene really brings home how much Vash has trained himself to think and act like a human. To not appear otherwordly and different. So much so that he struggles for a moment in an environment that should be deadly (after a few minutes at least) for a human until he realizes that he´s actually totally fine in a tank full of fluid (however you want to call that stuff the plants are swimming in).

Apparently you're not even allowed to express your own opinion anymore. You are immediately accused of making negative comments and are even blocked without being given the chance to defend yourself. I've never done anything to anyone and if I ever stepped on someone's toes, I'm sorry. I've never made any negative comments to anyone and instead I wonder what's wrong with some people here who see a simple comment on a story as a personal attack. I am not a bad person! I'm autistic and I see some things in a different way than others. I also can't put myself in someone's shoes and understand how they feel. But I know very well what a negative comment is. Knives, perpetrators or victims?

At this point I would like to talk about Knives from Trigun Stampede.

I know in the anime Trigun Stampede they always say Knives is the bad one! But is that really true? In Trigun Stampede, like in the anime, his and Vash's story is illuminated even more and it turns out that Knives only hates people because they were so cruel to him and his kind. They treat the Plants like disposable goods instead of the sentient life forms they actually are. They carried out terrible experiments on their earlier-born sister Tesla, which even caused her death, and they weren't even ashamed of it. For people, the simple statement that Tesla wasn't human was enough. But the fact that she still felt like a human and was basically still a child didn't seem to bother anyone.

I can understand Vash and Knive's shock at finding Tesla's body still in the lab. The two were still children themselves at the time. In addition, no one took the time to explain everything to them or help them process the whole thing properly. From a psychological point of view, Knives causing the ships to crash was wrong, but certainly understandable given his situation.

His hatred for humanity also developed gradually. The way they treated him and his manner was the most crucial point.

At the end of the day, he's just someone who simply sees people as a threat to himself and his kind. And as you can see in Trigun Stampede, he unfortunately has a point when you see how the people who literally burn plants to survive and don't feel the slightest sympathy for them. In the anime, some people even made very disparaging comments about the Plants, leaving no doubt that for them the Plants were nothing more than inferior creatures whose sole purpose is to serve humans and their survival. His desire to free the Plants and create a new type of Plants that are like him and Vash actually seems quite understandable. Especially since he doesn't really plan to destroy ALL people in the universe. Only those who live on Gunsmoke. On the whole, his real goal is to create a homeland for himself and his family in which they can live in peace. And he believes that this is not possible due to past events with people together. Because they will never fully perceive the Plants as sentient beings and, above all, as equals.

He may have chosen the wrong path to achieve his goals. But does that really make him a villain? I would like to know what you think about it.
