this is a comic my dear friend @wolf-aid had made using batman both because he’s a very dear character to me and because we are hoping that a popular character will bring more attention to the comic itself.

the comic says most of what i can say already — but i’ll say it again. ibrahim is an incredibly sweet young man who i’ve been close friends with for a few months now. he and his family need help to be warm, to eat, to get medicine, and to survive — hopefully soon they can escape their awful circumstances.

a thought. everyone agrees that sunday’s wings express his emotions more than he’d want to, just like tails of animals (or dragons… staring at dan heng il)

so imagine, sunday boarding the astral express, to see the universe in a new light, to have a fresh perspective on things, to try and change the way he views himself. he lets himself loose a little, his body less stiff as he lets his guard down around the crew (that is, including you). he doesn’t try to smile all the time, doesn’t try to control his body as much as he did in the past, his halo glowing more or less depending on his mood and his wings… twitching from time to time. as the head of the oak family, he had to be composed at all times and never let his facade slip. but now, as just another traveler wondering through the cosmos, he’s free of all the responsibilities. as he grew accustomed to this new life the astral express has offered him, you began to notice tiny changes in his behaviour. those were details, really, but you couldn’t help yourself but smile whenever you looked at him. he seemed more alive, now that he was out of his cage. his eyes look liked two shining suns, instead of cold gold, smile less forced, steps unsure, but more free. and your favourite part; his wings. they would always flutter when he laughed, and you prayed to akivili that he’d never learn about this, only so you could see that sight more often. sometimes, when talking to someone (especially you), that same thing would happen again. and you had to try your best not to crack a laugh, because how could he be so adorable without even realising that? it felt like you were staring at a very cute dog wagging its tail whenever you approached it. another detail you almost missed - his sweet tooth. whenever pom-pom said something about desserts, a spark would ignite in the halovian’s eyes, barely noticeable. every time he’d get a taste of that sweetness he so seemed to love, he’d look like a giddy child. the way he smiled, you just wanted to grab him and kiss his lips. how could someone be so cute and unaware of that charm?

𖹭 Law is heartbroken. His background with his own illness brings back uncomfortable memories. Law isn't one to show his emotions, and he may seem closed off to you for a few months.

𖹭 Law throws himself into finding a cure for you. He holds out hope to find any cure, any devil fruit that could help you. He might seem like he's ignoring you, and he may need to be pulled out of his focus- but he's trying to find a cure for you. He won't rest until he finds it.

𖹭 If you pass before Law can track down a cure, he'll tear himself apart. He can't handle the thought of his own failure, the thought that it's his fault for not being able to find a cure. His guilt is only intensified by his isolation over the last few weeks.

He prefers to quietly show his affection through thoughtful gift giving, intentional touches, and honestly- sometimes he just broadcasts his fluffy thoughts to you and hopes they reach you.

⟡ ݁ Law pays attention to everything you do. He might not look like he's paying attention, but he's cataloguing away everything you say or do. This is where his thoughtful gifts come from. there's something very scary about the way we argue and entertain discourse on israel or on settler colonialism when, on the ground, israel has totally isolated northern gaza and is currently systemically liquidating jabalia (a refugee camp in northern gaza) just as they have, from the very beginning, said they would do. just as large swathes of israel came to be in 1948, to 1967, to the west bank today. there's something scary about watching indigenous people undergo a genocide in real-time in 2024 like they're squatters on some prime property while nobody moves except to argue about semantics. there's something scary about people being trapped and killed like fish in a barrel while you can text them and follow them on social media and watch their pleas in video as soldiers and tanks come closer. what the hell is this

in just three days, israel arrested a palestinian-israeli schoolteacher, blindfolded her, forced to stand next to an israeli flag, and berated her; arrested, blindfolded, and detained a russian israeli-jewish journalist in the west bank, beating and threatening him; threatened to assassinate the 94-year-old iraqi shia cleric al-sistani so blatantly the US ambassador rebuked any of assassinating him, but in typical american obeisance to israel, didn't mention it in the rebuke; started firing at italian and irish UNIFIL bases in what the italian government says is a war crime; and to once more highlight what the israeli opposition looks like, yair lapid, israeli liberal, wrote an op-ed in the economist calling for the ressurection of the christofascist south lebanese state. this is amid the continued daily bombardment of gaza, beirut, and palestinian refugee camps in tripoli, as we await israel's strike on iran. it's a whirlwind of escalation, and nothing but escalation

Ace was not in love. He couldn't be, really. He was too focused on halfway passing his classes and avoiding Riddle's rage to focus on things like crushes.

He just scoffed when Deuce or Cater called him out on lingering glances, barely concealed jealousy, or any other assortment of definitely-not-lovestruck actions he performed on a day to day basis. He was only trying to be a good friend! (But, he was always quick to bristle like a feral cat whenever someone else acted so 'friendly' towards you)

Ace only shared his lunches with you because you never had enough spare change to buy enough to eat, and he definitely didn't start paying more attention in Potionology once he noticed you were struggling just so he could pull you aside to compare notes after class.

Ace was not in love with you. But when you were fast asleep against his shoulder during lunch, lips parted and lashes fluttering against your cheeks... he could admit that you were cute. just.. just a little.

Dan Heng had always run rather hot.

He'd always thought it quite a hassle. Either sweating under the Luofu's artificial heating lights or struggling to grip his spear with sweaty palms, it had always seemed to disadvantage him in some way.

Until now, that is.

He's frozen, unsure if he's even breathing as his crush lay on his chest, fast asleep. The heating in the Astral Express had run into some sort of minor issue, but Dan Heng selfishly hoped it would take a few more hours to fix. Just so he could keep his eyes trained on their sweet, sleeping face.

His eyes were soft, pupils dilated as he counted each eyelash, every pore, even the pimple they'd tried to cover in makeup that morning-
