2. everlasting light - the black keys apartment neighbors au.  the silence stretches on— awkwardly, painfully— and cho blinks, desperately trying to get her brain to formulate a single sentence. just one. any one. she swallows— or tries to, anyway. “aidan lynch?” if the floor could open up and swallow her whole right now, she thinks she’d be perfectly okay with that. “you… don’t have red hair?” the not redheaded guy— absolutely ripped and wearing nothing but a pair of dark green shamrock-print boxers— squints sleepily at her, his forehead scrunching up like an accordion. “uh, no? last time i checked?” he yawns into his fist, and oh god, even the muscles in his neck are defined. “is there a reason you’re knocking at 2am?”

3. dancing in the rain - taylor bennett ft. donnie trumpet, shay lewis, & brandon fox single parent + kindergarten teacher peewee quidditch coach au. 4. best friend - rex orange county the one that got away au.  yeah, it’s been four years since he moved halfway around the world, and it’s been three years since they last spoke, but she’d been one of his closest friends at some time in his life. (his favorite, he’d told her before he left, and she’d gotten all sappy and teary-eyed about it and somehow changed her nickname in his phone to be exactly that.) the main point is, they’d drifted apart after a while— time, or distance, or whatever. but now that he’s being offered a chance to go back and play for his hometown team, his childhood dream, aidan wonders about whether or not he should get in touch with her when he gets back. wonders about the likelihood of people ever drifting back together. 

5. whole wide world - wreckless eric hockey star au. “…passes to center and it’s A GOOOOAL! HE’S DONE IT! CAPTAIN AIDAN LYNCH SCORES THE GAME-WINNING GOAL TO CLINCH THE SERIES FOR THE BATS, AND THE CUP IS THEIRS! look at the chemistry between connolly and lynch on that pass! can you believe the control on this guy, lee? man, i remember watching lynch in his rookie season and— oh, hold on. there he goes, breaking away from his team to skate over to— he’s headed to the crowd. oh! he’s barreling through. [chuckles] yup, he’s giving a celebratory kiss to his girlfriend. or is she giving him the celebratory kiss, you think? [laughs] that one— that one’s making the headlines tomorrow, lee. what a season for aidan lynch and the ballycastle bats!”

talk to me abt cho and aid

i wasn’t sure if this was an ask for the playlist meme thing but: oops my hand slipped. and i believe i have capslock-screamed at you extensively about aidan and cho, but since they really do something for me in the form of serotonin, here are some more thoughts i am having about them:

aidan’s whole personality is based around love and that is just. so powerful??? especially for someone like cho who is, personally, one of the characters who does not get very much of it, in canon and in fandom (fandom reception has gotten a lot better in recent years tho so hooray for that).

but then we get to her meeting aidan lynch (pick an au, any au), and it’s just like— wow, here is someone who is very good at giving and receiving and personifying love, and cho becomes drawn to that because what must that kind of power be like? how does he do it? how does he have the capacity to just love love love? he even reminds her of cedric a little bit, with all the commonalities of being kind and hardworking and enjoying quidditch and having been in hufflepuff (just the surface basics, but it’s still enough to make her head turn on sight).

in almost all of the aid/cho alternate universes and scenarios we’ve bounced off of each other, i am highkey obsessed with how well they work when paired with each other. i could pit a fun-loving and cheery and capable of going toe-to-toe on the field!cho (think PoA) with aidan and it would be a fun time all around, with lots of banter and very strong friends to lovers energy and only the ~occasional~ miscommunications. i could pit a non-confrontational and awkward with feelings/relationships in general!cho (think HBP) with aidan and it would be A LOT of miscommunications and will they-won’t they and her overthinking the time he made her stand with him under his umbrella as they were waiting for the bus because she’d been stubborn enough not to bring hers! i could pit a weepy and grief-stricken and mourning!cho (think OotP) with aidan and it would be a tender, comforting dynamic because aid likely knows how to walk with her through it and show her what healthy communication during emotional outbursts look like. (like... i am sure he has had his fair share of grieving and being angry and being emotionally exhausted. i am looking right at you, @ the aftermath of august 1994!)

the point is, your take on aidan is a character that, right off the bat, works well with my take(s) on cho (again— pick an au, any au). i also just straight up love and appreciate your take on aidan so maybe i’m a little bit biased already but. oh well! 10/10 softness levels are off the charts!! this is an elliot AND aidan lynch-positive blog space and i will always be up for more aid/cho content in all of its forms, especially when it’s one (1) single message typed in the heat of a 2am no-sleep daze about whatever new au concept is gonna wreck me next. ❤
