        tilting her head rather curiously, eyes of familiar blues lifted to meet his. ❝yes, but ... you are the one stuck working for you-know-who, you know -- and i think that would be much, much worse.❞ luna exclaimed honestly, before taking a quick bite of the bread. ❝would you like a hug? they are quite lovely sometimes.❞

           ron didn’t think there were any possible explanations to this – but he sure would like a logical one. he also wouldn’t mind an explanation as to why is heart was beating so fast inside his chest after such a soft kiss ( it was nothing compared to the ones lavender brown had given him, after all ) but he didn’t think he’d get that either. with face and ears in a shade of red brighter than his hair, ron refused to look at him as he mumbled. “ it’s fine. ” exactly what was fine he wasn’t sure.

        where his heart was once fluttering about, it now ACHED with a strange sense of hurt. it wasn’t as though he had expected ron to return the feelings ( feelings he couldn’t fully grasp himself ) but perhaps he had wanted a little more than ... that. fumbling around with his books, harry awkwardly rose to a stand, prepared to leave. ❝sorry, i ... ❞ harry mumbled, nearly knocking back into the chair. ❝i’ll see you back at the room, maybe ... sorry -- sorry again.❞

         he had sneaked out to the dungeons again, a bit of food hidden under his jacket. “ it seems dreadful, luna. ” draco replied, sliding her a piece of bread.

       despite the bruises painting themselves along her countenance, luna offers a SMILE. ❝it really isn’t quite as horrible as it seems. though, it’s awfully lonely sometimes.❞ she hums idly, graciously accepting the bread. ❝how are you doing though? you still look quite ill.❞

         eyebrows were almost raised in amusement. “ lowly men? they are not so bad. ”

        struggling to conceal his ever-blossoming scowl, lucius glanced elsewhere. ❝you must be joking --- you can’t truly believe such filthy men are worth your time.❞

          ron wasn’t sure how all of that had happened too. it seemed to happen so fast and yet so slow at the same time. he was painfully aware of how close they were and his heart seemed like it was about to jump out of his chest when harry leaned forward. ron saw it happened and he couldn’t bring himself to stop. feeling the soft lips pressed against his, his entire face turned red. when his friend pulled away, ron couldn’t help but avert his gaze and turn his head to the other side, ears ringing with embarrassment.

       despite promises of an explanation, harry falls entirely SILENT. what could he possibly say to make it better? to tell his best friend the truth, that he had developed feelings for him, and that he was so overwhelmed in his desires, that he just HAD to kiss him ---- it seemed far too wrong. with features as bright as ron’s, he shifts backward and away, awkwardly clearing his throat. ❝i .. i’m sorry, ron --- won’t happen again, i promise .. and let’s -- let’s just pretend it didn’t happen, okay? i don’t know what .. came over me.❞

         harry wasn’t sure when they’d gotten so CLOSE --- when their thighs had brushed, and their faces had fallen inches from one another. when late night research had become so .. intimate. and it’s that exact moment, when eyes fall upon his best friends lips, that he’s suddenly leaning forward and connecting them ( in an awkward, brief, and fluttering moment ). ❝ron, i’m ... i’m --- i can explain ...❞
