superwoman!ellie hc’s >_<
Tumblr media Tumblr media
pairing: superwoman!ellie x reader
warnings: none
wc: 1.7k
AN: i wrote this at 2am yesterday after rewatching superman for the third time… i’m in love with the movie and i’m a big nerd for dc and ellie so why not?
Tumblr media
୭˚. ᵎᵎ Superwoman!ellie who crashed on earth when she was just a baby, on a farm in the middle of nowhere and was found by Joel—who heard the loud crash and came running to find little baby Ellie in the middle of a meteor crater behind his barn and just… didn’t tell anyone. (Except for Tommy obviously) He raised her as his own.
୭˚. ᵎᵎ Superwoman!ellie who growing up, always felt like she was different, that she didn’t belong. Her classmates were scared of her, since that time she accidentally threw a table across the classroom, with zero effort whatsoever, like it weighed nothing. Joel comforted her, even when she got suspended for “altering order in the classroom” he told her, "You're special, kiddo. Always remember that.”
୭˚. ᵎᵎ Superwoman!ellie that became aware of her super powers for the first time when she was a teenager, let’s just say puberty was really… interesting. She developed super strength, flying, x-ray vision (which was awkward as fuck the first time.), heat vision, super hearing and invulnerability.
୭˚. ᵎᵎ Superwoman!ellie who had a tough time learning to control them, especially the heat vision. One time she sneezed and almost burned the entire house down. (Joel almost passed out.) But the rest came more easily, like flying, even when she fell on her ass a dozen times…Joel was mortified.
୭˚. ᵎᵎ Superwoman!ellie designed her own super costume, she made a million sketches until she settled for the perfect one. Joel helped her sew it, surprisingly the old man was good with the needle.
୭˚. ᵎᵎ Superwoman!ellie who at first just saved kittens stuck on tree branches, helped old people cross the streets, or lift up cars with flat tires. Eventually she escalated to more dangerous tasks like fighting criminals, beating up thieves and stuff like that.
୭˚. ᵎᵎ Superwoman!ellie that hated all the attention she gained from the public, more than she imagined. At first it was just whispers, blurry photos on the internet, posts titled “Who is the mysterious red and blue suited girl?” But then came the news vans, the helicopters, the theorists. They called her Superwoman. Corny, she thought, but she didn’t have the time to come up with a name.
୭˚. ᵎᵎ Superwoman!ellie who hated the expectations and the pressure that came with being a superheroine . But what she hated most was the distance it created between her and the world, between her and normalcy. People didn’t look at her like a girl anymore. They looked at her like she was a savior.
୭˚. ᵎᵎ Superwoman!ellie who moved to the city even when Joel begged her to stay, but she told him she needed to find her purpose. Needed to know what she was really meant to do. The suit was folded in her duffel bag when she took the bus out of town. Ellie slipped quietly into the background of city life, tucked into a small apartment with a leaky radiator and a window that stuck.
୭˚. ᵎᵎ Superwoman!ellie who applied for a job at The Daily Planet, the city’s second-best newspaper. Joel thought it was a terrible idea. “You’re throwing yourself at the wolves,” he said, frowning. But she needed to know what people were saying.
୭˚. ᵎᵎ Superwoman!ellie who worked as a reporter for the newspaper, trying to stay as low-key as possible. Hiding herself behind glasses, clipboards and flannels—Ellie Williams, introvert, loner, allergic to eye contact.
୭˚. ᵎᵎ Superwoman!ellie who noticed you immediately, not because you were loud or anything, but because you were unafraid to call people out on their bullshit, corrupt politicians. editors, anyone who was unfair. You had a sharp tongue and a soft heart— that made Ellie crush HARD.
୭˚. ᵎᵎ Superwoman!ellie who sat two desks away from you, admiring you from afar. You noticed her—noticed the way she’d look at you, and how she’d pretend to adjust her glasses every time you caught her glancing your way. It was cute, her freckled face would turn a deep shade of red and her hands clumsily dropped her clipboard on the floor.
୭˚. ᵎᵎ Superwoman!ellie whose first interaction with you was after you accidentally spilled your coffee on her shoes and noticed the very beaten up, and worn-to-the-ground converse she wore. You joked about how you were doing her a favor so she could finally throw them away (she didn’t). Since that moment you clicked instantly, becoming closer and closer. Hanging out after work, eating lunch together, stealing her pens just so she had an excuse to come and get them at your desk later…
୭˚. ᵎᵎ Superwoman!ellie who was completely CLUELESS about your little crush on her, with all the weight of saving the world everyday on her shoulders, it didn’t even cross her mind the possibility of you reciprocating any sort of feelings for her. But when she started analyzing all the little things you did like, bringing her a cup of hot cocoa instead of coffee because you knew she hated the taste of coffee, or how you always carried a second granola bar “just in case,” and casually slipped it into her jacket pocket when she didn’t notice, or how you would laugh a little louder at her stupid jokes and called her ‘Els’ in that sweet voice of yours—she started to wonder.
୭˚. ᵎᵎ Superwoman!ellie who was surprised when you asked her out…
It started as a casual movie night, you had bought tickets to see some nerdy film Ellie mentioned she loved and you decided to finally ask her out—casually, of course. Both of you accidentally touched hands when you reached for the popcorn, and your head accidentally fell against her shoulder mid-movie (which made Ellie freeze like a statue, breathing so carefully she nearly passed out). And then your fingers accidentally interlocked with Ellie’s—but hey! totally accidentally.
After the movie ended, Ellie offered to walk you home, because “you never know with these late-night creeps,” she said, pointing toward the empty street.
“Well, there’s always Superwoman watching over the city,” you replied casually. Ellie froze for half a second. Visibly stiffened. Then covered it with a scoff, eyes darting away like they were allergic to looking at you. “Pfff… she’s usually never out this late.”
You raised an eyebrow, amused. “She told you that personally?”
Ellie rolled her eyes, lips twitching like she was barely holding in a panic-smile.
“Yeah, we’ve had countless encounters. She’s so full of herself though. Total diva.”
You laughed, elbowing her gently. “You are a liar, Williams. A really bad one.”
“Oh yeah?” she said, glancing at you with that soft, crinkled grin, the one that made your stomach twist. “Well, if I were lying, you’d never know. I’m very mysterious.”
“Sure,” you smirked, and kept walking, your fingers still threaded with hers—like it was the most natural thing in the world. Neither of you said anything about it.
The quiet between you was soft. Easy. Every few steps your shoulders brushed. You’d glance up at her and catch her already looking, and she’d look away too fast like it burned. She rambled about the movie the whole time, about the plot holes, the story, the music—clearly trying to distract herself from the fact that her hand was still holding yours like it belonged there.
You weren’t listening. You were just staring at her—soft little side glances when she wasn’t looking. Thinking “god, I wanna kiss her. I want to kiss her so bad.”
When you got to your door, neither of you said anything for a second, you just stood there, swaying slightly, hands still connected. Ellie scratched the back of her neck with her free hand. “Sooo…” she mumbled, looking everywhere but your face. “I had fun tonight. It was… yeah.”
She hesitated, she wasn’t Superwoman right now. She wasn’t bulletproof or strong or made of steel. She was just Ellie. Nervous, rambling, totally crushing Ellie.
You smiled. Leaned into the doorframe slightly, just enough that your shoulder brushed hers again. “You always ramble like that when you're nervous?”
She went pink. “What? I—I'm not nervous.”
You tilted your head. “No?”
She looked at you—really looked. The way your eyes shimmered under the soft glow of the streetlamps, how your lips were slightly parted, your gaze flickering between her eyes and her mouth like you were waiting for something, and Ellie? She looked back, flicking her eyes between yours and your lips too, like she was quietly asking for permission. That was all it took for you to grab her by the collar of her flannel and pull her in, crashing your mouth into hers in a kiss that was soft, warm, and a little shaky—like neither of you could quite believe it was actually happening.
Her hands found their way to the sides of your face, holding you like she was afraid to let go. Every bit of space that had existed between you vanished in an instant, like even air had become unnecessary if it meant being closer to you. Her heart was racing—which was kind of ridiculous, considering she’d literally faced down an alien warship last week and didn’t feel half as nervous. But now? With your hands in her flannel, your lips pressed to hers? Ellie was practically a puddle. You tasted like the cherry slushie she convinced you to get at the theater, and you kissed like you meant it. Like maybe you’d been waiting just as long as she had.
You pulled back just slightly, just enough to whisper, breathless “…I’ve been wanting to do this for a long time.”
She smiled. “Yeah me too.” And she looked at you like the world had shifted beneath her.
୭˚. ᵎᵎ Superwoman!ellie who ten minutes later, after you hugged her goodnight (and kissed her again, shorter this time), Ellie shot straight into the sky the moment you closed the door. She landed on the actual moon, and let out a scream so loud it kicked up dust, paced around craters whispering “holy shit holy shit holy shit—” and then sat down with her knees to her chest, absolutely wrecked by how happy she was.

i saw people in a tiktok comment section saying that they hate trinity’s “so long, fellow losers” line bc it feels ooc and i’m just like ??? did we watch the same show??? bc the entire season she’s just so clearly putting on a facade of being cool to hide her massive loserism!!! that’s what’s so compelling about her character!!! she’s not lying when she says that she uses sarcasm to hide her insecurities!! so long fellow losers is one of her most authentic moments and also the line that really sealed the deal of her being a character of all time to me!!
