So this is how the boys turned out in the X-Men RPG @hawthornetaylor and I are currently playing in: Goodnight Robicheaux, thrift store gentry and all around human wreckage, and Billy Rocks, weaponized cinnamon roll. They were pulled from the grasp of your setting-standard nefarious mad scientists by the junior team, and they’re both adjusting to life at Xavier’s School for Gifted Youngsters while coping with their shared trauma in remarkably unhealthy ways. But at least they’ve got each other. Also, if any of my Mag7 mutuals are interested in joining us in this madness, feel free to drop me a line. ;)

Welp, Elfquest: The Final Quest has been a mind-boggling disappointment thusfar in terms of pacing, art quality (at least compared to Wendy Pini’s pre-SatS output), continuity, and characterization. 

One of the casualties to the creative team’s desire to plow under any contributions other artists have made to Elfquest was Aurek’s personality and design from the Kahvi series. We went from the character being a snarky, confident, sexy hermit-wizard to a wet blanket in a sheer nightie. 

Joy.

But anyway. Before I kick this series to the curb, I figured a more fitting good-bye would be getting art from one corner of this universe I actually still had fondness toward.

The nostalgia bug bit me hard, so I asked the ever-patient Lytta if I could get a Trowa and Quatre reunion a few years post Endless Waltz. Yeah, I had it bad for the Gundam Boys back in the day, and 3x4 was my ‘ship of choice. I should revisit those DVDs.

An epilogue of sorts to Northstar and Kyle’s Paris honeymoon. I felt like they just needed a little more time to themselves than they got in the actual story. And yes, I do love Kyle’s thing about heights. ;)

It’s not that he’s not a morning person, per se; mornings are fine if they’re something you’re up until, not waking up to! The downside of being a melee fighter is that it’s your job to be in the way of the other side’s swords, clubs, and other nastiness. But when the team’s healer happens to be your sweetheart, at least it’s a relatively fleeting difficulty.
