i spit blood every time i remember kubo slapped third reich semiotics on a whole jewish coded guy and community.
if i had a penny every time i read works by a japanese author /writer who did this hellish combo of combining nazi semiotics with direct metaphors on groups that faced nazi prosecution, id have three too many.
and i feel like current online community is too scared to appear zionist (which i am vehemently not, as its mainstream form in the present day is a form of fascism in the most academic sense of the word) to discuss this, even though it really should be...
#ooc. 《 vehicle of fools 》#rant.#(like with ffxiv garleans i just really dont want to touch the end result with a ten foot pole in my own writing)#(it only takes several years as a volunteer guide to an antifacism museum to...)#(idk. get a real firm grip on the reality of the horrors committed under that banner of hatred)#(so using the name of jewish god for a guy who runs a nazi-like group makes me nauseous)

reading this reply by @jinjahime, and thinking that a mentor, a teacher - is like a second father, given the locale of the source material.
and, hey, at least this father did not outlive his son.

Send [ APPROVAL ] + (a decision that your muse is making), and I'll tell you whether the action GAINS approval from my muse, LOSES approval from my muse, or if approval is left UNCHANGED. ♡

bleach timeline is so strange, like— so the primordial world was split into three worlds to expell hell over two thousand years ago, with the world of mortals and physical practices being the closest and serving as hell's lid. at the same time, the materialistic history of the mortal world evidently exists in some capacity.
it could be that it simply was made to exist upon the split of the origin world. it could be that to satisfy the prerequisition of ensouled life, it has existed in a faster timeflow than the other two worlds. maybe we can equate the split of the primordial world to the big bang. it would work because we know the flow of time is different in the space between the worlds.
you might wonder, why care. but, listen. hominids existed for 2 million years, and our species, for over 200 thousand. ichibē is older than 2 thousand years, but does not predate buddhism. so he'd have been going around naming things in soul society about 3 thousand years ago.
this is driving me nuts.
and the current structure of soul society and shinigami academy is only ~110 years old. and this is the thought that started this, because i was trying to figure out which year ukitake's soul died in the mortal world and got reborn in soul society.
and then i realized that the bleach universe timeline just doesn't make sense.

puts peonies on ukitake's shelf of symbols.
me: oh, he likes ohagi, so he'd like botamochi; oh no, full bloom peonies are a symbol of death and old age. and peony is a king of flowers in china, and one of its names is a flower of riches and honors. oh no.
