missile to the moon
Missile To The Moon, 1958 Directed by Richard E. Cunha Genre; sci-fi
“This guy is nuttier than a fruit cake”
I’ve just finished watching Missile to the moon, a movie I’ve been wanting to watch for quite a while now. Can’t find it anywhere to buy so I watched on youtube. I watched it in color (terribly colorized unfortunately) because I wanted to see the blue space ladies, in this youtube-version... they... waren’t... blue...
Other than that I liked it! I’m not sure how heavy my words are, I kind of like all movies I watch, especially half bad vintage movies. But it was thrilling.
Tumblr media
It started of showing men talking about thiss missile that could probably send them to the moon safely, in comes a police man searching for two convicts that escaped prison. One of the men, Dirk, the one that actually built the missile, finds the convicts and decides to make a proposition with them. Join us to the moon, he says, to which they accept.
The other man from the office, Steve, and his wife, June, gets impatient so they go looking for the police man and the colleague. They too walk up the missile and all of a sudden they feel the engine starting

When they finally arrive to the moon they get chased by rock men. In panic they hide in a cave, only to find out that there’s oxygen in the caves.
They walk around the cave for a bit until they get caught by moon people.

Title
Hello, it is I.
I’ve created this blog for my own pleasure, but please, if you find this do feel free to join me on this experience.
I have lived nineteen years on this planet, gone through many phases, lol. But I’m in the middle of an identity crisis. In this year, 2020, it’s become this thing where everyone finds their aesthetic. I’ve had a few in my life but I’ve now collected three that i feel speaks to me the most. I’ll list them now.
Aesthetics to me is more of how I express myself, rather than the way I dress. So that’s how I came up with the idea of this blog, movies is a huge way to achieve aesthetic pleasure.
The first one, I’d like to call it *old hollywood glam*. It’s exactly what you’d expect. It’s the vintage curls, and the pearls. It’s the dramatic dresses and ways to just... be. The eras here would for sure be 1930′s-1950′s, my favourite being 1940′s.
This era has the most iconic actresses. I’ve collected a few Hedy Lamarr movies so far, her being my favorite actress.

The second aesthetic is *retro futurism*. This one also speaks for itself. It’s the pre-moon landing phase that the world was in. This one I’d say is more 1960′s (which actaully has been my favorite for fashion and makeup since I was a child). But wow, is there anything more beautiful than vintage hopes for the future? It really amzes me.
It’s the space-inspired clothing, and the futuristic furniture. The way they made the astronaut lifestyle into their everyday-lifestyle (not really exactly, but you get my point)
Tumblr media
Movies for that might be hard to find, but I think it’ll combine just smoothly with my third, and last, aesthetic. The one I don’t really have a name for yet! For now I’ve been calling it *disgust* on my pinterest. You’ll get it when I’ve explained, and given some examples.
Basically this is the one that makes you feel weirded out. Imagine some 1970′s bad trip nightmares, it’s not scary, just weird. I’m talking Mulholland Drive, I’m talking original The Wicker Man, I’m talking Nadia Lee Cohen’s photography (she’s truly amazing).
This whole vibe where something is just off is very appealing to me. It gives me an enormous amount of anxiety but somehow I like that. Can’t wait to get started on increasing my movie collection for this one.
