Ive never bought a computer by myself what i have now is a horribly heavy laptop and ipad who are too old and slow im an english student so i just need the internet and word what laptops would be good choices or do you think i should do the tablet/keyboard method I also wish to recycle the laptop and iPad along with their cables but idk how to about that thanks in advance do you help love you all 💌💌💌

I personally think doing anything with word and similar programs is easier on a laptop but it’s a preference thing. Here are some possible pros and cons of each:

Laptop Cons:

May be heavier than an iPad

May cost more than an iPad if you get a higher end computer or if your option was to get a smaller iPad

Battery life probably shorter than an iPad

May be more difficult to carry around

If you didn’t buy a virus protection program, laptops are more likely to catch a virus than an iPad

Laptop Pros:

Easier access to Microsoft programs and its features

Easier to type on a laptop (to me)

May be cheaper than an iPad if you get a lower end laptop vs. an expensive iPad

Last longer than iPads

iPad Pros:

Lightweight

Longer batter life

Cost less (possibly)

Good built in virus protection

Easily portable size wise

iPad Cons:

Could cost more

A little difficult to access many of Word’s features on the app vs. the actual program

Apple products tend to become obsolete quicker with how many products and OS updates they always come out with

Personally, I have both an iPad and a laptop that I use for school. I like both of them and I use both of them for similar things but each one is different. I have the iPad 6th gen (whatever the newest gen is excluding whatever they released this year) and an Apple Pencil first gen that I use to take handwritten notes in class. I also have the Logitech Bluetooth keyboard that I use occasionally to type notes if the class requires more terms and definitions memorization than working out a process.

My laptop is a few years old, it’s some Dell laptop that I bought while in high school from Walmart online (before I had a desktop). It hasn’t had any issues except for getting slower over the years. I use it to do papers and stuff on the go if I’m not at home on my desktop. I used it for my first few years of college to take notes.
