“What did we say about touching?” Logan said, shoving Remus away again. There was a cut on his palm, but it was easily waved away.

“Deceit can very easily be sent away. After all, we get out power from being wanted,” Logan looked at Remus blankly. “And neither you nor Deceit are wanted here. So you can be ignored rather effortlessly.”

At that, Logan turned his back to Remus, as if dismissing him. He faced Virgil, blocking him from Remus’ view and looking his friend over for injuries or his usual sign of a panic attack- and definitely not doing all this to ignore the way his own heart pounded painfully against his ribcage.

virgil wanted to reassure logan that he was fine, but he was a bit preoccupied with trying to calm himself down while still trying to keep an eye on remus.

the side in question grinned, wide and awful, eyes unblinking as he suddenly jolted forward — plunging the knife into logan's back, right between the shoulder blades. " i don't take too kindly to being ignored, teach. " his voice was cold, cruel, sending a chill down virgil's spine.

virgil knew that logan, out of all of them, was the least affected by remus' bullshit, but that didn't stop the panic. teetering between fight and flight, he finally stepped forward and shoved remus away, baring his teeth in a facsimile of a smile. " get the hell out of here, and don't lay your dirty hands on any of the others again. "

remus pouted. " at least let me have my knife back! "

Logan waved his hand at the carved eye and it disappeared. Had that been a matter of creating something, it would not have gone so easily - Creating, summoning, even changing shape was always a struggled for Logan - but fixing- Well. Fixing wasn’t Logic’s job, but it was certainly Logan.

Logan shot Remus a disapproving look and delicately wrapped his fingers around the other’s wrist, pulling the knife away from the wall. “We would prefer if you kept the walls intact,” he said delicately. “It upsets Patton.”

He gently pushed Virgil further behind his back. “That being said, should Deceit ‘decide he wants Virgil back with you’, his desire will be entirely ignored. Virgil is his own purpose and, unless he desires to return home with you all, he shall remain right where he is. Or must I remind Deceit how powerless he is in the face of those of us that Thomas favors?”

virgil's breath hitched as remus lazily swung at logan's hand with the knife when it came close -- not truly aiming to hurt him, but remus certainly wasn't opposed to the idea. he snorted. " you can't really say no to dee, logan. he doesn't take too kindly to that. "

he definitely doesn't, some tiny part of virgil muttered in the back of his mind. " yeah, well, i'm not going anywhere. " he sidled closer to logan, trying to see if remus had managed to cut him.

remus gave virgil's shoulder a rough pat, earning a flinch in return. " i love how hard you both try to be firm, it's so cute! "

Logan patted Virgil’s back calmingly, keeping himself in between Remus and Virgil.

“Is annoying us and touching Virgil without him saying you can not enough?” Logan asked, keeping his tone and face neutral.

Logan sighed and carefully pushed Remus away, holding his hand against the other aspect’s forehead to hold him away.

“Honestly, Remus, you cannot just annoy Virgil incessantly, it’s rather bothersome,” Logan sighed.

remus grinned even wider. " not my fault he's so easy to rile up! "

" say, virge, " part of virgil hated the way remus used the nickname -- it's not for him to use, " why do you get so bothered? it's not like i'm dee, comin' around to-- " he snorted. " heh, comin'. "

gross, virgil decided not to reprimand remus out loud, considering he'd just continue to go on about it. " still! i'm not deceit! that's gotta count for something, right? "

" you're both equally awful, but sure. " virgil deadpanned. remus huffed.

" i'd watch what you say, emo. i may not care about where you spend your time, but i'm certainly not going to argue with dee if he decides he wants you back with us! " virgil shot logan an anxious glance. remus flicked his wrist, summoning a knife -- virgil immediately tensed, shifting closer to logan -- and began to poke at the wall with it, carving an eye into it. " he's been keepin' an eye on you, y'know. on all of you, really! "

Logan let out a small, sarcastic laugh and removed Remus’ arm from around Virgil, putting himself between the two to keep Remus from touching Virgil again.

“As… interesting as your ideas are, I did not miss you in the slightest,” he said, looking at Remus neutrally.

Logan sighed deeply and watched Remus carefully, carefully pulling Virgil a bit more away from Remus to put more distance between them. Remus was, most likely, planning something. Something that he knew he wouldn’t like. But what it was wasn’t something that Logan could guess.

“And Virgil is correct. It’s rather rude of you to interrupt a conversation, and to touch Virgil without his permission.” Logan looked back at Virgil with concern, checking if he was okay.

“V? Are you doing okay?” he whispered to his friend.

an immediate wave of relief hit as soon as logan stepped in, and virgil only shifted closer to the logical side, lip curling slightly at remus' amused snort.

" oh, come on, logan. you're always so strict and boring. " remus grinned, wide and uncanny.

" i'm fine, " virgil mumbled, not taking his eyes off of remus. the creative side winked at him -- with one eye, then the other, just for good measure.

" you're such a prude, " he huffed, quickly slinking around logan to dramatically lean against virgil's shoulder. " can't i just reconnect with an old friend? "

virgil jerked away from remus with a hiss, backing towards logan as if that would keep remus away from him. " we are not friends. i will punch you if you touch me again. "

" sounds sexy, bloody mary. " remus, despite the nature of his words, was pouting. " you're so mean. what did i ever do to you all? "

“Of course I have a plan,” Logan said, nodding to himself. “I have an absolutely well-worked plan. That makes sense and…” 

 Logan cringed slightly and stepped further away from the current perceived threat. “I don’t have a plan. I don’t quite understand what is going on here…”

It was true, of course. Remus was a notoriously confusing and chaotic character of a person. And any plan he had, any mischief he was causing, was not something that Logan generally understood or was able to plan against.

“Do you have a plan?” he asked hopefully.

virgil gave him a look that quite plainly said 'absolutely fucking not', shifting his weight from one foot to the other as he pointedly avoided looking towards the chaotic character in the room.

" do i look like i have a plan? " he snapped, a little more aggressively than intended. there's not any good way to deal with remus' bullshit, at least in virgil's mind.

the side in question appeared right next to virgil, curling a hand over his shoulder with a grin. " i'm right here, y'know. it's rude to talk about people behind their backs! " virgil's shoulders stiffened at the touch, and he shoved his hands in his pockets to hide how they were shaking -- opting to roll his eyes at logan as if to say 'can you believe this guy?'.

it was hard to hide the tremble to his voice as he shrugged off remus' hand -- only to grimace as remus took it as an invitation to sling an arm around his shoulders. " yeah, well it's rude to interrupt a conversation, too. can you get your hands off of me? "

remus ignored the request, choosing to address logan instead. “ you wound me, virge. c’mon, teach -- i’m sure you missed me! “
