I REALLY try to stop myself from talking about anything related to “dance drama” on here, but I really just wanted to say something about Dyllan. It genuinely doesn’t matter whose “side” you’re on; it’s abundantly clear that Dyllan went through a lot and that moving studios has clearly helped her through that. I’ve actually been through a situation that’s extremely similar to Dyllans where I was in a situation that was detrimental to my mental health and decided to leave, and it also caused a HUGE amount of “drama.” There were people that were incredibly supportive and loud about it, but there were also people who were not supportive at all and loud about it. That part was probably the most traumatic part of the situation for me (people talking about me leaving, debating whether I should have left, etc). It’s truly scary as fuck to leave something like that, and people speculating and fighting about it makes it 100x worse. So, I guess my point in posting this is PLEASE don’t turn Dyllan’s post into an excuse to further speculate about her experience, to argue about whether she should have left, who’s “right,” etc. I know that her posting that opens her up to a bit of scrutiny, but I just ask that everyone think twice before posting about it.

Went to Radix this weekend (as a teacher with students) and just had some thoughts…

-they treat studio owners and teachers quite well. They provided us with a great lunch

-I can’t believe how kids put their bags on the chairs and then THEIR TEACHERS AND PARENTS CANT SIT? It’s weird.

-Brian Friedman is REALLY kind. He had a teacher talk session and only 6 including me showed up. It was honestly awesome to just get to chat with someone whose so involved in the dance world.

-Tricia Miranda is awesome with the minis…..Tina not so much

-Mya Lanigan is so cute and so small!! She was a great assistant in the mini room

I left feeling pretty inspired!

i don't want to make my page all about politics.. but i do want to make it clear that i fully stand with israel and will not tolerate ANY comments justifying the actions of the hamas terrorist group. i am proud to be jewish. it is disgusting to think that anyone could see raping, kidnapping, and murdering innocent civilians (including children) as okay. if you have a problem with that, feel free to unfollow me.

Imagine being a new dance mom at your 8 year old daughters first comp expecting the minis to like forget their dance or look like they’re wearing gum boots on their feet and then the first mini performance you see is Sylvie Win. That’s probably enough to induce a midlife crisis

I’m from NY and my school district was December 1st but they did make some exceptions (like one girls mom was on the board and her birthday was 12/21). You could also choose to hold your kid back.

Ok can someone explain how schooling works in the states? Like in canada (toronto at least) you start school depending on your birth year so for example all the kids born in 2019 are going to Junior kindergarten this year (2 years of kindergarten here) so growing up my entire class was born in the same year. I’m seeing kids who compete the same age going back to school in different grades though in the states and Im a little confused😂
