S1 - Episode 1 - The Bubbler

The first thing that stands out in the episode is Marinette’s wallpaper…

Girl, I know that you have a crush on him, but having him as your wallpaper is a tad too much. Not to mention the obvious editing that went into the creation of said wallpaper.

Don’t get me wrong, I love a good love square as much as the next guy, but the cringe levels are exceedingly high.

Second, her mother needs more credit:

Sabine: Marinette, don’t forget to clean your room after school today!

Marinette: Mum, it’s Friday, and I’m already doing something with Alya!

Sabine: Fine! I’ll go ahead and clean it, but don’t blame me if I come across any of your private stuff like your emails, your diary-

While Marinette’s lack of confidence to even give Adrien a present, is annoying, it is also relatable. I am conflicted.

One thing that I’m not conflicted about though, is Alya’s pep-talking skills. She’s not afraid to use tough love to help her best friend and I approve.

The fact that Nino actually got the guts to stand up to Adrien’s dad only proves how important Adrien is to him. 

Nino you could possibly be smoking some stuff on the side but I APPRECIATE you!

I love how even though when Nino was a villain, his main focus was making sure that Adrien would have a good time for his birthday.  THAT IS COMMITMENT.

The fact that Plagg was actually able to convince Adrien into enjoying himself (or at least, attempting to) the party Nino had thrown him, shows how isolated his father has forced him to be for the majority of his life. To receive a miraculous, Adrien must be a good person. However, his lonely upbringing was bad enough for him to put his hero duties aside.

Therefore:

Nino, I understand that by putting on that slow song for Chloe, you were just trying to hook a man up…

BUT WHY HER OF ALL PEOPLEEEEEE

Okay, Lucky Charm, at this point, is basically Ladybug’s ultimate weapon. She has always needed it in order to defeat the villains (unless there was an instance where she didn’t use it then please let me know because I’m not completely certain). The fact that she would use it just because Chloe was getting a little too close to Adrien, kind of makes me mad. But, in her defense, Marinette is only round 13-15 years old. Immaturity isn’t exactly odd in early adolescence.

Is foiling Chloe’s advances really such a bad thing anyway? I’LL TELL YOU RIGHT NOW THAT IT IS NOT

Besides, how grateful Adrien looked to have an excuse to keep his distance brings me joy.

Shouldn’t Marinette put some holes in her purse or something, because if she keeps on shutting Tikki in there, one day she is gonna suffocate.

Alya telling Marinette that she was scared that something had happened to her, and then immediately getting her to sign the present while she was there, GIVES ME LIFE.

Alya is to Marinette, what Nino is to Adrien, cause while she cares enough about her to be worried for her safety, she is also very aware of her wing woman duties.

It’s a yes from me.

Seeing Adrien grab Chloe’s wrist, pull it off his shoulder, and walking away from her, is yet another thing that gives me joy.

 It also shows how pure our cinnamon roll his, since all it took was seeing Ladybug before he snapped out of it. You can see by his facial expression at that moment that he was disappointed in himself for putting himself first, because seeing Ladybug reminded him of his duty as a hero.

So PURE

Seeing those two lovebugs working together in sync makes me so happyyyyyyyy

The innuendo suggested by Cat Noir’s eyebrow raises makes me question whether or not this is a kid’s show…

Even though they were falling from the air, and death was highly probable, Cat had no problem putting absolute faith into Ladybug.
