for context. this guy had been frequenting the forums for a while. very careful about his privacy, wouldn't even say what timezone he was from, but he had multiple kids (at least two daughters and a son) and doted on them a lot.

Morning, all! Eldest kid and I are off for our little adventure! Had a right troubled sleep last night, just thinking about her reaction. It's been too long since I've gotten to spend any quality time with my kids, but that's going to change! Really am glad I quit the big life, that's for sure. Nothing but me, my kid, and our pokemon in a nice little rental! She's on her phone right now, but I'm sure that'll change once we get there.

A couple hours pass. A few regulars there wish him well; one of them makes a comment about teenagers being like that.

The next message is this, along with an image that can't be reached. From the context of the replies, it was probably some sort of food he made himself.

All settled in! Gotta get ready, after all.

People say things like "oh man that looks so delicious" and "hey man can i have a bite?"

Next message is this:

Man, I gotta take up epoxy one of these days. It really is the perfect place for it! Half tempted to give carpentry the old college try, but ah well.

Not too relevant, but here's where it starts to go down.

Ah, lads. I think I did it again, or maybe she's just at that age where she doesn't need her dear old dad anymore. Should I go after her, or give her space?

Someone asks if his daughter will be subject to the same fame-related issues. He replies,

Nah, I just worry, is all. Did she pack enough potions? Did she remember her hat?

A few worried replies. Then this:

Well, looks like I'll be giving her space, then. Met a kid in a right pickle, so we're going to get something to eat and see if we can't have a nice time anyways. Thanks, all.

If your pokemon doesn’t want to evolve that’s COMPLETELY okay. My bf has had an Oshawott since he was 14, who has never seemed interested in evolving. Some pokemon just don’t want to.

There’s definitely an issue in society with not WANTING pokemon to evolve because then they stop being “cute” or whatever, but if your pokemon doesn’t want too, then there’s no reason to worry about it.

Introduction Post

Hey there. I'm Onyx, and I'm a mechanic in Motostoke who doubles as a Rock/Steel Type Gym Leader. My old rival, @quillpokebiology , convinced me to get one of these, so, here I am.

I mostly post about being a gym leader, the life that comes along with it, and to break some misconceptions about the job. I'll post stuff about my personal life as well.

If you're curious about me, here some things. I was born in Nimbasa City, moved to Galar with my dad when I was 10, did the gym challenge at 15, failed the gym challenge, became a mechanic instead, and then became a gym leader after I applied. I know it seems unfair that I'm a duel-type gym leader, but Galar's done it before with that one Psychic/Fairy type gym leader, and it allows me to keep some of my original pokemon.

I have different pokemon teams depending on the different ranks of the trainers

Earlier Trainers: Galarian meowth, Onix, and sometimes a Crustle

Mid-ranked: Boldore, Carkoal, Togedemaru, Sometimes a shuckle

High-Ranked: Perserker, Copperahjah, Klinklang, Crustle, Excadrill

Main Team (I don't get to use them often, but they're with me the most and you'll see them wandering if you come to my shop) Mercury (Metagross), Azurite (Shiny Gigalith), Marble (Aggron), Jasper (Scizor), Skyscraper (Archaludon), Silverbolt (Magnezone)

(I would have a Tinkaton, but they're not allowed in Galar bcuz of our Corviknight taxis 😒)

Rose, former Chairman of the Pokémon Galar League and President of Macro Cosmos, was found dead in Wyndon Stadium around midnight last night.

A bullet was found lodged in his head, and it is presumed that he died on impact.

There are currently no leads as to who is responsible for this.

ya got birds, so uh, how do I get my grubby little critter to stop trying to perch on my head while I'm in the shower?? when I'm watching TV alright that's fine, but the shower? the little freak doesn't even like water! it's a taillow if that helps

thank you so much for the ask!! I love answering these :) also, i love taillow!! i grew up in hoenn & recently moved back and those little fellas are everywhere and so friendly!!

anyways, to answer your question: bird pokemon by default like to perch as high up as possible. Their instincts tell them to make their nests in tall trees and always land on tall buildings with good visibility simply because that's their best defense against predators. your taillow is also probably just being friendly!

the best and easiest option is just to give them other perching options, ideally ones taller than you. You can get plenty of bird perches online, but it might also be as simple as moving some furniture around or making a windowsill available!

it's also possible they're just clingy or have attachment issues, which is common in Pokemon adopted/rescued from less than ideal homes. they might just want a reminder that you're there! if they want to be in the room (and you don't mind), you might consider giving them a little nest to sit in or some treats/food on the counter, windowsill, etc. within view of where you are. that way, they have a more comfortable perching spot that they'll naturally prefer to sit on, but they will still be able to be around and see you.

finally, if you just want them out of the room while you shower (which is very valid, lol), it can be as easy as just distracting them! you could try taking your showers during feeding time so that you have the time to shower while they're busy eating, or giving them toys (bird pokemon often love hunting for little objects or trinkets that move! it simulates catching bug pokemon in the same way cat pokemon like to play with fake mice).

in theory, it should be easy enough! however, if it seems like the issue is attachment, or if being away from you is stressing them out more than seems normal, that might be a sign you should take them to the Pokemon center.
