Out of Retirement(324.5)
Birthedstars
AN: older writing I thought I'd never finish, but now seemed like the perfect time to dust the rust off it.
324.5: Imagine you're a supervillain who tires of being the "bad guy". After faking your own death, you retire to a simple life and become pregnant. You are found by your superhero nemesis, who needs your help to defeat a more dangerous villain. Will you fight, even close to giving birth? Or, will you stay home to live your new life?
You were finally free. You take a bite of the breakfast you ordered at a rural town diner. Soft, cheesy eggs, nice and crispy sausages that smelled of apple wood greeted you to the start of this new life.
The waiter came over with a pot of fresh coffee "Ya need a refill of your coffee?"
"Yes, please, that would be great," you said just as the breaking news bulletin sounded on the nearby TV.
"Here to report the latest in Breaking News: The villain, Cyber, has been confirmed dead".
"Well I'll beβ¦thought they'd get caught eventually, but not as a corpse." The young waiter commented as they filled your cup, a look of disappointment flashed briefly in his eyes.
You nodded silently in agreement. You didn't think this would happen either, but boredom makes you do things you'd never expect. Boredom was the whole reason you became Cyber in the first place, fitting that it became the reason you stopped.
The broadcast continued. "Early this morning, the villain's flying fortress self-destructed over Major City. The hero, Dynamo, has more on this."
The screen switched to a muscular looking man in a red and yellow skin tight suit and mask.
"The fine officers here are still investigating the wreckage, but I can confirm that a body was found." Dynamo said solemnly. However...since Cyber has never shown their face and the body doesn't seem to come up on any records, we can't be sure if it's a dummy or not. only time will tellβ¦if they should return, I will be ready."
You sigh wistfully. Dynamo might be the only hero you'll miss chasing after you. Every reiteration of his self-righteous speeches was entertaining or at the very least ironically funny. You kind of felt a little bad leaving him hanging like that, just waiting for a return that wasn't going to come. Blowing up the fortress wasn't a major problem considering you made it from old computer junk with your technomancy and the body was just a shelved cloning experiment. Should take the League of Heroes quite a while to catch on to it.
"You another Dynamo fan?" The waiter stared at your face, catching you looking off distantly.
"I guess you could say that, but not the "throw my underwear at him and write blog posts about him all day", type of fan," You say with a laugh.
The waiter chuckled. You study the waiter's face. Wasn't too bad looking, seemed like your age too. If you're going to settle down here might as well make some deeper connections.
You chug down the cup of hot coffee and leave a tip for the waiter and your number. He looks at the slip in surprise as you walk out the door. You didn't really know if that was something people did nowadays, but basically being an evil shut in with nothing but cheesy, old romance movies to watch while you worked taught you nothing else.
You take a deep breath, absorbing the fresh air of the rural town. Close diner, an empty workshop for you to do your tinkering and lay low, and nice people...you could get used to not threatening to shut down the government's fire walls or crash half the nation's satellites every other month. A 'normal' life sounds exciting.
-- 3 years later --
Soldering smoke puffed up into your face as you fixed a few old circuit boards for a set of computers for a nearby highschool. Doing menial stuff like this once in a while never got boring for some reason. Plus it was relaxing, which wasn't something you would have a lot of time for in a few weeks time.
A flutter of kicks impacted the inside of your bloated abdomen. You gently rubbed the taut surface of your bare belly. A dark line splits your large, stretched belly and knob like outie belly button. You felt so full with the weight and pressure of your big baby nestled in your pelvis. Before going full villain you never thought you would have a kid one day. Another volley kicks hit you from within, this time making a mark on your bladder.
"Come on now kid, let me finish my work here before you make me go to the bathroom." You rubbed soothing circles around their tight home as you continued to fix the last circuit.
"And...there...we...go! All finished." You say ecstatically. Just as you're about to get up and go to the bathroom you hear your phone give off several buzzes. It's your husband, the one you snagged easy off of that number trick.
"Hey babe, I'm closing up the diner now, but I'll be a bit longer getting home. Have to prepare for the new food shipment. Love you and kiss the baby goodnight for me!β
You look at the text softly. He is such a sweet guy, you didn't really expect the two of you to hit it off and go as far as you both did. Telling him about your previous identity had an...unexpected response that resulted in the state that you were in now. He was actually a fan of some sorts. It wasn't exactly odd for villains to build up cult followings nowadays with how televised they were, but it also wasn't something people were open about for obvious reasons. But one moment you two were having a serious conversation about your past and the next he was pumping load after load into you.
Your child squirmed within as if to snap you out of your reminiscing trance. You rub your low, solid sphere. You were glad that they finally decided to drop. It was nice feeling them squirm inside, but carrying them around was starting to grow tiring. On both your back and your mind.
"Woah-ho, nice digs you got here Cyber," a light, yet familiarly annoying voice spoke from behind you.
You whipped around as fast as your swollen body could, snapping your fingers. 5 gun turrets came out from the ceilings and walls to train their sights on the intruder.
"What the hell are you doing here Zip?" You stare in the general direction of the voice. A sigh slipped out of the darkness of the shop. In a few hasty steps, a young man dressed in a dark and light blue tight fitting suit came before you. Zip, the flash step hero. Probably the second most heroic pain in the ass behind Dynamo.
"Hey, hey, hey. I don't wanna fight ya, I just wanna talk." Behind his blue visor, you could see his eyes studying your form. He tried to contain a smile. "Well...not like it would be much of a fight anymoreβ¦" he chuckled.
"What do you want and how did you find me?" You said tersely.
Zip scratched behind his ear."well...Dynamo and our favorite rich detective apparently found out where you were a couple months ago...guess he saw your condition." Zip gestured to your whole body.
"So why isn't Dynamo coming to get me then, hm?β you grimace slightly. Partly because of his comment and partly because a seizing feeling scrawled across your big bump and back. Braxton-hicks have been pretty common for you nowadays but this one was just a bit more uncomfortable. You rub the side of your belly as your eyes continue to drill into Zips.
Zip scratched the back of his head. βWell...heβs deadβ¦β
βW-what?!β you said shocked. Dynamo wasnβt even an easy person to knock out, let alone kill.
βWe havenβt reported it to the news yet and itβs kind of the reason i'm here. Here to ask you for help I guess.β Zip stated solemnly.
βHow...how did he die...β you ask rigidly.
βSome kind of super laser. Dynamo tried to absorb it but he disintegrated in seconds. The villain, ReBlaster, sent us some demands afterward, saying he would unleash the weapon that killed dynamo on the world if all the world's governments didnβt surrender nuclear codes and the villain prisonsβ Zip informed. βWe only have a few hours before the deadline and we are desperate."
"I see...so desperate you need a retired, late term pregnancy villain?" You chuckled shakily.
"We don't have many choices. We just need your help taking the weapon down. If you help I can promise we won't ask you for another favor again and you will be free to live life."
You massage your temples. There really wasn't a choice here. Both presented substantial risks but denying the heroes help would lead to the destruction of the life you made here. You felt your child wriggle around in your womb.
You give him a stern look."Fine...I'll help. What do you need me to do."
Zip grinned. "Great! I'll brief you on the way there! Just bring yourself!"
Always moving fast, Zip sped out the workhouse. You sigh, as you put on a more fitting shirt of your bump and waddle as fast as you can behind him leaving your phone behind. Outside your building stood one of Hero Leagues special stealth jets.
You steadily walked to the sloped rear door. Zip sped out of it with a tablet and forced it into your hands.
"Just read that on the 2hr trip there, it has all of the information and schematics for the base's weapons and operations." Zip picks you and rushes you into the jet and straps you in fast as lightning.
"Sorry, we don't have much time. My protege, Celerity, will be your escort." You turned to see a young woman in a green suit similar to Zip's. She waved from the cockpit. "Anyway,I gotta go meet the rest of the league, bye and good luck!" Zip raced off out of the jet.
"Welp. Buckle in and get reading I guess," said Celerity as she quickly closed the rear door and started launching the ship in flight. Things were moving stupidly fast, but that was expected with two speedsters you thought.
You got to studying the information on the base immediately. As you started, a tightening encompassed your over taxed middle and back. It was slightly stronger than before but eased off fast enough. The periodic tightenings became more frequent within the first hour of the flight. "Shit...not now." You thought, the state you were in becoming clearer. You had already finished going over all of the weapon specs and now you were just massaging your contracting belly.
"Are you ok back there?" Celerity asked.
"Just peachy," you said.
Another hour passed and the ship landed on the outskirts of ReBlasters base. The contractions were becoming more painful and the pressure in your pelvis. You were doing well controlling your breathing for the trip, but if things got more intense...
"We're here, let's get this shit done!"
Celerity quickly picked you up without warning, dashed to the information terminal booth and dropped you to a safe side of the building.
"This will only take a moment," Celerity said before rushing into the building. A few gunshots and groans could be heard within and then Celerity rushed out.
"All clear, let's go!"
You waddle as fast as you can into the room, the pressure getting lower with each step. Celerity quickly tossed the bodies of the guards outside and you sat at the computer terminal. It felt good not to have your baby on you pelvis as much.
You pressed your fingers onto the console and grid-like web of light crisscrossed through the machinery. Your ability begun its work. Celerity pulled out the tablet and looked at the live diagnostic of the super weapon.
"It's working! The weapon is down!" Celerity exclaimed.
Another contraction wraps itself around your belly. You felt your face tighten up in response and your ability faltered for only a second. The weapon has several reboot functions so You have to hold your concentration for as long as possible. Your contractions were getting worse and more frequent. You felt immense pressure in your nethers.
"How long do you think you can keep it down?" asked Celerity.
"Oh, for as long as I have to," you stifle a moan as the tension peaks. "I used to be a professional, you know."
You wished you hadn't said that. 45 minutes passed and you started to feel the head of your baby crown through your cervix. Your waters still hadn't broken so you thought you were safe, but it was clear your baby had other plans.
Your composure in front of the young speedster started to degrade. Beads of sweat started to appear on your forehead and a stifling warmth enveloped your body. You could feel her eyes on you as pressure started to build up immensely.
"Hey, are you ok-"
Before you could answer, you felt a popping sensation within. The crotch of your pants speedily became soaked and fluid started dripping audibly on the floor. Another contraction seized your belly harder than before, making you cry out in pain. The head was coming fast.
"H-hey, maybe I should get you out of here," said Celerity with a queasy look on her face.
You shook your head. "The mission isn't over yet right?"
"No, but-"
"Then, I'll keep this up until it's over then!"
Celerity pursued her lips and let it go.
You have no idea what made you say something so "heroic". You just didn't want your child to be born in a world where a weapon like that exists. They say family changes a person but you'd never believed until now.
Another twenty minutes passed. Oh how you wanted to at least rub your belly, get out of the chair and scream your lungs out like Dynamo kicked you into a wall. You were desperately resisting the urge to push, but the hard head of your baby crawled it's way forward.
The contracting tunnel of your birth canal pushed it towards freedom until you started to feel it start to press out of you. A slight burn came with it. This couldn't happen right now you thought.
You looked over to Celerity who was still watching over you uncomfortably in the corner.
"I need you...to gently push the baby back in and hold it there," you said painfully. No doubt that would cause you excruciating pain, but you knew you would get taken entirely by the urge to birth if it started crowning.
"W-what?!"
"Just do it! I won't be able to concentrate if it starts crowning!"
Celerity hesitated for a second and then got between your legs in a crouch. She pressed her fingers onto the slight bulge in your pants and gently pushed it back into your canal.
"You're insane..."
You white knuckled the computer console and let out a hissing whimper of a breath. Your face was red, tears streamed from your eyes as Celerity held your baby against the contraction. Suddenly, a voice came through Celebrity's ear piece. It was Zip.
"We've almost got him cornered!" He said.
You let out a hiss followed by a howl as a contraction starts to ramp up in intensity. You could feel yourself pushing your child against Celerity's hand. You desperately wanted to smack her hand away so you could push. You wanted to scream at the top of your lungs 'get them out of me!' But you had to keep strong just a little bit longer. Just a little bit.
Another agonizing 15 minutes passed. You were vocal now, much to Celerity fright. Your muscles were brutally tight. Birth fluid started to sputter out from behind your baby's head, the pressure from the unending contractions unrelenting.
Suddenly, the console went dark.
"We did it, mission complete!" Zip shouted in Celerity's ear.
You fell out of the desk chair into a puddle of your birth fluid. You struggled to rip your pants off your lower half. As soon as they were down to your ankles, you brought your legs up by your thighs and pushed hard.
Celerity whipped her hand back from your crotch. "Zip, Cyber is giving birth!" You heard her say.
You shrieked and felt the head pull you open into a painful burn. The baby was coming fast, tired of being stuck in your canal. A gush of fluids and blood came from behind the head as it popped out of the burning ring of skin. A sharp gasp escapes your lips when the pressure releases. The shoulders quickly start to open you up, even as the contraction dips with intensity.
"Celerity! You need to catch it!" You screamed out.
Celerity sped down between your legs and held the head as the shoulders started to slide out. Your belly caved in on itself, you bore down hard and with another gush of fluid, the shoulders slid out into Celerity's hands. You fell back onto the floor, gasping for air.
Your vision was blurred from exhaustion, but you could see Celerity pull up a healthy looking baby that was just starting to make its first sounds.
Celerity laid the squealing mess on your chest and shook her gloves in vague disgust. You wrap your hands around your newborn in a tired hug.
"Next time I'm just letting you hero's deal with it yourselves," you said with a laugh as your baby whined against your chest.
