“Yeah I do,” Simon said without hesitation. “I’ve seen what you all can do,” he pointed out “Together you guys are a force to be reckoned with,” he bit his lip. Pep talks were something he tried to do often on his broadcast but it had been a long time since he’d had to do a personalized one on one pep talk. “You guys… you give me hope. That’s something I haven’t had in awhile. So yeah… I really think you’ll make it.”

Simon paused, not having expected the question. He fiddled with his head set, he didn’t want to lie, making it through was never a guarantee. Finally he settled on the most reassuring truth he knew “If anyone is gonna make it through this it’s you guys.”

          Right. Because two former National Guard, a teenager with a sniper rifle, two twenty-something year olds, one with a bat and one with no sense of chill, a former cannibal, and a doctor who got all of his medical knowledge from watching TV seemed likely to beat the odds and survive. Especially with the way Murphy kept trying to ditch them.           Ten Thousand wasn’t sure why he’d bothered to ask the question to begin with. Perhaps if for no reason other than knowing the response was coming from someone outside of their group somehow gave hope for the idea of more survivors.

He didn’t see him getting out of here as a actual possibility but there was no need to make 10k worry. “How far are you?” He asked trying to keep the panic from his voice. Maybe if he had a time frame he could form a plan.

10K’s stomach churned as he moved quickly. He’d already come so close, he couldn’t let Citizen Z down now. “Just… stay quiet and keep your head down. And if you see an opening to bug out safely, take it.” He took out a couple Z’s in his way before continuing on his way. Getting ambushed on the way wouldn’t help either of them.
