Make Peace 22
22 posts
For my Global Issues in Action class we are studying the Good life goals. I chose to particularily focus on the goal 'Make Peace'. It takes 22 days to make a habit. For my project I will post one thing to inspire and make peace for myself and others.

Just because you lost me as a friend doesn’t mean you gained me as an enemy. I am bigger than that. I still want to see you eat, just not at my table.
- Tupac Shakur
Hey everyone! I decided that I might still make additions to this blog when I find things. I really like this quote and though I would share it.
Peace out!

Feedback?
Hi everyone,
So I have officially made 22 posts (maybe not one a day) but I have reached the end of my project and want to know what anyone thought. Thanks so much for reading. I think that if this didn’t help everyone, at least it helped me. For the final time...
Peace out,
A.R.B.

To the bystanders
To the Bystanders,
I... don’t even know where to start. There are people somewhere in the world sitting on their couch yelling at football games and getting mad when what they want to happen doesn’t. Being a bystander is the equivalent. Maybe nothing you do would help, but maybe the only thing stopping the world from change is you. You ignored that girl crying in the bathroom stalls? Maybe all she needed was someone to notice her. You walked past the boy getting bullied in the locker room? He had to go home and tell his parents that no one stepped in to help him. You are not being you neutral, you are harming people. Fear is understandable, but there is an entire universe of negativity to be afraid of. Do not be afraid of being a light for someone else. Maybe you dream of being the hero? So you can’t leap from buildings and take off into the air, but you can save people’s lives. You can save them from the cruelty of the world. You can stop the cruelty of the world. If you can save one person from themselves, I think that makes you a hero. So sit with the kid who is alone. Share notes with the one who was too busy working jobs to do their homework. Ask ‘are you okay?’, “What’s wrong?’, ‘How are you?’. Say ‘hello’, ‘you look great today’, ‘you’re smart/talented/perfect’. You can make the world better.
Peace out,
A.R.B

To the Greedy
To the Greedy,
I would just like to say, no matter how much you take, if it is not yours, if you did not work for it, then you will never be full. If there is a hole in you that you are trying to heal, it will never stop devouring you as long as you continue to destroy others. Because you are not giving to yourself or your family or even the world. If you take from someone else with bad intent, it is wasted on you. To that take, give. To those that are greedy, be generous. To those that hurt, heal. Not only others but yourself along with.
Peace out,
A.R.B

This is important! This is a poem I found. There will always be someone to love us. There is always someone out there who does, will, or one day will love with everything they have. Please stay strong for them.
Peace out,

To the People Who are Hurting Each other
To the people who hurt each other,
Perhaps you have a reason. If so, there is little I can do to stop the injustice you commit. But I would like you to read this first, please. As of 2017, 300 million people have depression. Over 47,000 Americans die of suicide each year. Students who are bullied are at a far greater risk to mental health issues than students who are. I don’t know the circumstances of your conflict, or what is happening, but I do know that nothing good can come from hate. Maybe you don’t have to become their best friend, but imagine what they are going through. Maybe you don’t know anything about their lives. Maybe what you are saying or doing to them is hurting them far more than you know. You could be helping someone, instead, you are hurting them. I think that everyone should at least try. Apologize. Ask them if everything is okay. Leave them alone.
Or ask them to leave you alone. Tell them that what they are doing is not okay. Go talk to someone. But also, think about what might be happening on their end of the stick. Why are they doing this? What happened to them? Don’t be submissive. Definitely, don’t be aggressive. Try your best to be assertive.
I don’t know much, and I definitely don’t know you. But I do know that a meaningful, sincere apology can go a long way. Make peace in your life.
Peace out,
A. R. B.
